Simple Infinite Item Storage (IMGAY V2)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- The Infinite Mass Guarded Accessible Yield is a super cheap storage room that utilizes chest minecarts to store unlimited items. It is very easy to build and is super quick to input and withdraw items!
(This was named entirely by me. Gliding Monkey and Sam. had no involvement in the naming of it, they only worked on the design.)

CORRECTIONS:
- At around 4:07 for the water collection w/ flat rails, you do not need candles if you use powered rails. It was originally designed with basic/activator rails, the powered rails should hold the carts in place. You can just use glow lichen or ladders instead.
The server computer is gonna love this after I've built this for every item in the game
Entity cramming...?
@@joe-skeenEntity count mainly. I'm pretty sure minecarts and its variants don't calc for cramming since they can't be damaged by this mechanic but don't quote me on that. Main reason is entity count and all the calcs related to every single one of them (single threaded logic goes crash)
@@KyzenEX This is correct.
@@KyzenEXI'm pretty sure minecarts can still cause entity cramming but they can't be damaged by it. I might be wrong tho idk
@@10carries They can cause it to other entities but they don't take it, yes. But since they don't take entity cramming damage, they don't calculate it.
after using the W.A.I.F.U iron farm, i think i need an I.M.G.A.Y item storage 😰
What version are you playing on?
Same
Ah, so that's the algorithmic connection between Emdy's videos and this, why I was recommended this after watching their L.O.V.E. villager trading build.

That smart! The best item storage to lagging ur world
That smart! The best grammar to needlessly complaining the video.

@@zkam900 hes offended guys no way real?
@@jasonhake5502 its not needles complaining. This storage is a fun idea, but actually useless because of the lag.
this design is so genius, its able to smartly store an infinite ammount of items while being made of early game materials
not really because entity lag will be created .. its limit is actually quiet low....
Though Early -> Mid Game its good
@@kleinfeichtby the time you get to having dozens of chests worth of a single item you really should have a big auto storage system of some sort
This feels like a lesson in storage engineering
I love innovation in early game survival friendly tech. Its a nice change from the ultra optimized ultra efficient builds that take hours to build and make operatable in survival.
Gonna use this as quarry storage in spawn chunks
Having it in spawn chunks isn’t the best idea coz minecart chests produce significantly more lag compared to a regular chest, and being in the spawn chunks it’ll always be loaded
@@chrissharples8027 What are you gonna tell me next? That I shouldn't have made the floor of my spawn perimeter out of unlocked hoppers?
@@Decommissioned I was making a suggestion, I’m not telling you to do shit. It’s up to you whether you consider what I’ve just said or not, I couldn’t care less if you turned your game into a laggy unplayable mess.
I was just trying to a little bit helpful in advising against putting it in your spawn chunks. But hey, I’m the cunt
someone didn't get the joke@@chrissharples8027
Great idea, but will cause alot of lag. If using this, i'd suggest, install it at a remote location from general game play
Agreed! You could put it in the end for example since that’s accessible from anywhere, or putting it in the nether should also work
@@CrittyKatie would optimization apply on the nether roof? Asking cuz i wonder if certain optimization mods would save resources when on top of nether roof
Very simple and unique. YT recommended this video to me.
Neat design. Just never go into a stack of minecart or you'll risk entity cramming yourself xD
Now imagine if minecarts could contain shulker boxes!
I miss when shulkerboxes could hold shulkerboxes. They were the true infinite storage
Interesting set up. I admit that I created a similar item storage system back in 1.17. However, there is a drawback. You can't make this system "too big" or "too infinite", on a server, a huge amount of entities such as minecarts do give rise to a huge amount of lag. I do like your trapdoor dropping set up, it's really nifty. But yeah, this system doesn't seem to address the lag issue I get. Granted, I may have made the mistake of making it too big and too infinite. So there is a limitation to this system. I don't recommend attempting it on a server.
THIS IDEA IS INCREDIBLE.... but it uses minecarts, I have a very bad experience when using minecarts/boats on them despawning on me, I know Mojang made them better in like 3-4 updates ago, but still...
Couldn’t there be another variation where you use a hopper setup to input the items, which would then automatically drop the cart using a comparator setup (by checking if the hopper isn’t emptying and then dropping a new cart) which could have some buffer chests to allow multiple inventories worth of items before the hoppers empty
Amazing! Have you considered using a comparator to automatically dump the upper minecart chest when full?
Doing this for the items you tend to have in larger quantities and a regular chest room for the others should prevent lag.
For example using this for Stone Dirt Cobble Sand Netherrack Bambu Iron Gold and Emeralds.
But a regular one for Diamonds or Polished Andesite Slabs
Minecarts are notorious for randomly despawning. Otherwise this would be brilliant.
if you're already going to be using stacked chest minecarts, just stack them all in the same block and put a locked hopper below it, when you want items fill the hopper with the item and unlock it. 1x1x4-tall system with infinite storage
I still have no clue how this works
Even though this is a very creative way for storing items, it causes two issues: It creates too many entities as it adds more and more minecarts, which will for sure cause lag. The second, is that this increase the amount of memory a chunck holds, which might cause chunck corruption, lots of ssd/hd space being consumed, ram to load everything up. Definitely will make server owners mad 😂
Use this for a few items that you too many of, and use regular item filters for the rest
On my server there is plugin that despawns minecarts in you stack more than 1 in single place 💀
But I'm guessing it's super laggy on server because of how many entities the game would need t handle
What if you load the minecrafts with shulker boxes
I think I remember JKM makimg a joke about storing items like this. Little did he know...
Genuinely this is a really good storage system for early in the game, and honestly I feel like it would last for a long time for most things, until you get to the point of building gigantic crazy farms. I love this
Are we sure that was a joke? Storage tech IS his passion after all
I can see myself by an accident dropping my sword in it amd than having to destroy all the old minecrafts to get to my sword
bro what is that name 💀
the short of this design has more five times more likes than this video has views 💀
Before i realized there were more versions I was like "dude this took 3 people?"
I like the design but the minecart chests are a entity , which means if u have a lot of them it will get lagy .
I'm interested...I have some concerns about lag if I use this on a server... got any tips on optimizing for that using this system? What size system starts to slow down a typical world?
Ha. Found your followup vid. Looks like you've already answered my question
Is there still an entity cramming limit? Or does that only affect mobs, not minecarts?
Minecarts won’t break at all from entity cramming! If a mob or player touches it then they take cramming damage, but carts won’t break at all
Loved it! Defnitely building it tonight 🎉
This is not only simple but also very cool! You're a genius!
This is definitely going into my base, the thing that I love the most about this system is that is nether proof, where I'm building my house
The only problem I see with this design is Chunk Data. I'd recommend that you spread the design across multiple chunks.
My iron farm is too powerful, I've gotten too many minecart chests entities, my game is running 1 FPS help
have you tried automating the carts dropping down and getting destroyed when empty? i'm curious how plausible that is while keeping it tilable. i can make it work in a 2w setup, but that kinda defeats the purpose of this type of storage.
That’s a really interesting idea, I might look into that at some point!
Might wanna take inspiration from rapscalions Cart MIS V2 or V3. They have a cart seperating mechanism and also cart yeeting
Neat, I didn’t know the bit about priority for opening/interacting with chest minecarts
My pc is bouta blow 🥴
biggest downside for me is having to go around and manually putting away each and every item you have.
Thats a lot of entities
I like this. Deep storage system. It'd really suck to move because minecarts has a tendency to go flying everywhere if you cram them like this, and as others has mentioned, it can cause lag having too many loose entities. But if this sits in an unloaded chunk near a huge excavated hole or something, it'd be a very efficient way to store a lot of stuff.
This is a really cool alternative storage! Happy Redstoning!
this is very cool
This is so smart!! Imagine if you would combine this with mid/end game interface features like automatic shulker box unloaders and stuff.
All fun and games until a creeper blows the back wall off and the stacked minecarts self propel themselves into infinity
i like queers (and minecraft)
What can i use besides glow lichen?
I'm a bit late, but you could probably use signs! We just chose glow lichen since it's easy to farm, but there should be a couple things
I think you can automate this to an extend if you want that option, just need some creative wiring then
I.M.G.A.Y is the absolute best name bau bau :3
for people saying "thats a lot of iron!", bro you are clearly missing out, stop playing mc now please
can't wait to fill my storage with minecart entities and play at 1 fps
so storage drawer but it's vanilla
Is it ok if I try to recreate you design or redesign this on bedrock I will give you credits if I make a video ?
Of course, go ahead! And keep me updated when it comes out!
have you figured out how to do it?
I think the top minecart is unnecessary. You can just add an empty one to the pile every time you fill the accessible one. Cool concept.
You actually can’t - if you try accessing a stack of minecarts then you’ll always only access the oldest one in the stack. To load a new cart, you need to drop a new one from above
I have seen this like 1 year ago tho...
why is it always the femboy furries that are the smartest
That's pretty nice invention! Love it❤❤❤
Papier Servers💀
Really cool design, will try it in my new survival world

cool design but an insane lag machine

Slick. :- )
Does it work on bedrock?
"IMGAY" lmao xD
фигня полная
How lag friendly is this?
I’m actually making a video on this right now! I’ll have the video up in a bit, but the tl;dr is that it’s only really laggy when you stack dozens of carts on top of each other in a single slice (since they all collide with each other at once). If you only have a handful of carts per slice, it’s not as laggy as you might expect!
just as many carts shown in the video brings my pc to 20 fps(I cap at 60 anyways and it's smooth except for minecarts and players)
Go to 0:06 for the credits
Heat 🔥
Dope!
Dose this work in bedrock?
does it work on bedrock edition
what kind of black magic is needed to place the rails correctly?
i mean, i know rails are directional, but which direction placement makes the construction of this system more survival friendly?
Placing rails sucks so much lol, the best way I found to place them is by placing a perpendicular line of rails temporarily. So you have a row of rails going left and right, then you can place the rails you end up wanting going up and down from those- it’s hard describing it in a comment. I can make a quick short about it in a bit, but it requires placing some temporary rails!
I just made a short about this, it's uploaded on my channel!
noob, just remove the upside cart
You'll always click on the oldest minecart > 1:54
You couldn't click on new carts to fill with items
@@BryanLu0 yeah i m so sorry. my bad
