Sometimes when I'm really feeling low and I'm really stuck in my own head about everything, I go for a walk.. this is weird.. I go for a walk and talk on the phone to myself.. I pretend I'm talking to a friend who has ocd and just say stuff like "yeah its hard, youre allowed to be upset and youre allowed to do it wrong, you're still really brave" and obviously ocd thoughts come and i just try and do erp with them but out loud on the phone.. and when someone walks by and i think if they knew I was walking and talking to myself they'd think I'm weird but it actually makes me laugh.. 😂 I even say stuff like "Yeah, they'll never know" "haha its so so silly" "no way, you're not really are you, thats so weird hahaha". I think doing it around people and having those thoughts on purpose in front of people 'regular people' reminds me that I'm just regular too.. it feels like I'm not sometimes but I'm just walking down the road too.. It makes me cry too sometimes because I am not holding things in, they are out in the open and I don't feel trapped and it reminds me that I don't have to be trapped and only I can do that for myself.

i just used your “maybe, maybe not,” quote in the moment i got triggered, & i didn’t ruminate on it; & it was crazy how quickly my mind quieted & the panic dissipated! i did it! while i’m still feeling a little anxious & shaky, it is so much better than what i usually feel! thank you so much for your channel, it’s been a lifesaver. it’s helped me realise i probably have ocd & shows me techniques to use to combat my intrusive thoughts in the wait for therapy. 🖤

Im only 17 and my intrusive thoughts started to get worse last year, last week i got to relax because my brain wasnt obsessing over some things, but it came back again :”) Sometimes i just feel like giving up a lot, but then i realize that, im still alive and there are also many people out there who struggle with similar experiences to me, so im really not alone in this, i know we can all go through this despite how impossible and frustrating it gets when you think it’s done, but it comes back, but i know we can all do this

I’m 18 and doing the same thing, every time it gets bad and I feel low I remember that there’s 30 year olds, 50 year olds and people even older who’ve made it though the same things we’re going through. If they can then it’s possible for us to do it too.

You are a literal gift from God to all of us struggling with ocd. To anyone out there struggling with ocd, you've got this! NEVER, EVER GIVE UP!!! As someone who's felt hopeless like it would never get better, it will. You just have to keep going, keep trying, and keep praying. Now matter how many times you stumble, its not the end. ❤ Prayers for everyone out there with ocd.

Reported the guy who replied, I'm struggling too and that response is not true or helpful. Watch the videos about recovery if you want to (unless it's a compulsion, then restrict it), focus on any dream/goal you have. Mine is graduating university and working in a hospital, I picture myself getting ready for that job, working there, rushing around the halls from patient to patient making a little difference to those I can help. If you haven't got any current goals/dreams or if you've forgotten them, see if you can remember any from when you were younger or anything that interested you before you felt down. Focus on the future, the present and these thoughts are just that, thoughts, and they'll pass along with the fear, the anxiety, the paranoia and the doubt about "what if?" will all come and go. Just go "Yep, my heartrate is a little high, and?" Or say to yourself "yeah and?". The fact that you're here looking for help and methods of treating OCD is a sign that you value your life and you want to get better, that's the right mindset. It's like all the OCD therapists say, OCD attacks what you love most, now that doesn't mean if you don't have an intrusive thought about something you love that you don't love that, it means for whatever reason you don't get thoughts about it.

hi i have hocd and its so fricken annoying ive had it for over a year and a half almost two years and even though ive been in hospital care for it cuz my worst fear is it becoming real, it feels super real because I find myself acting different. Is that because I overanalze it and obsess with it or is it becoming worse. It defo feels like its becoming worse even though im gonna do cbt and erp and am talking about it to an outpatient clinic. Please answer this comment. Ive noticed changes over my body language and the way I "feel", and I want to get the thoughts which have become habit, behaviour, feeling, which caused me to study other peoples body language and mine are seeming to be on the path to my worst fear, so it causes me to self harm and destroy stuff.

What do you do if you have ocd but you do have to make a decision on something, but everytime you go to problem solve it in your head you end up in an ocd cycle where you obsess over it, I can't really say maybe maybe not to the problem because I'm just burying my head in the sand. But then everytime I do settle on a decision, I end up ruminating and the next day I've decided something completely different. I've been thinking about this one decision for nearly five years.

Thanks!@ocdandanxiety i will stop watching videos of OCD i.e doing compulsion for reassurance (in your video of how to not recover from ocd you replied to a person agreing that we should not watch ocd video for reassurance and only 10 percent info rest should be action)for sure but now will I recover from OCD after stopping myself from watching ocd videos?(1st question/compulsion for reassurance)-By asking this question for answer I know I am again doing compulsion for reassurance(2nd question /compulsion for reassurance)which is wrong but this will be my last compulsion for reassurance. so sir please reply IF I WILL recover from ocd OR NOT after doing 2nd compulsion for reassurance ( mentioned in this message) and not responding to further ocd thought after 2nd compulsion for reassurance.I will follow all treatment(ERP,etc) given in all your video and will live with anxiety after 2nd compulsion for reassurance.

I have ocd bad like really bad I have got past Anorexia Contamination ocd, heathy anxiety, Existential ocd, ROCD and harm ocd and false memories it is extremely hard learn to expect your illness like I have don’t fight it your going to have this in the background all your life that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy life you can control it which I am currently still dealing with but it does get better when you learn your coping Strategies you have got this it scary and you feel like it the end of the world but trust me it’s not your body is just Misfiring over issue that doesn’t need to be worried about you know your self better than you think learn to trust your self and expect that you are you and when ever your anxious about something remind your self this doesn’t need my time or effort at the moment you not ignoring it your just putting it to one side but I guarantees you move onto another subject then your ocd will be more interested in that because it knows know the previous worrie is not that important and one day you go through every worrie you can even think of and you will run out of things to worry about you will eventually have a thought and go yah I had that one before and nothing happened I will let that one go it takes Practice but you will get there I promise just hang on and keep going

Yeah, well I get triggered when people like this guy say you can beat it. I did beat it, to like 80 percent, my life is fine. Pretty normal, cause everyone is going through stuff. It made me more compassionate, and accepting of others. Should, I let this guy hope for 100 percent mess with me and cause me stress. Nope, cause that would be another obsession. Fight for your best and be happy with it, cause you are worth it. We all are. I am not dissing this UA-camr, he is useful to achieving your best.
