I think it'd be cool if, if they ever made Halo 3 Anniversary, they brought on Michael Wincott to redo his voice, leaving it as an option the players can set.
Both voices work in their respective games. In Halo 2, he is calculating, political, and manipulative. By Halo 3, he is mad with power and completely disillusioned by his own false beliefs.

Would've been a nice touch if at 26:30 they showed the ODST drop pods landing in New Mombasa just as In Amber Clad caught up with the Covenant ship, because you can see the reverse in the ODST game.
That would've been awesome, but I guess the short little cutscene following the ODST squad after the Scarab ambush in New Mombasa was pretty cool. Would've made more sense if they were regular marines, seeing as ODSTs like Buck's squad are known for using drop-pods, and Buck's squad _uses_ those drop-pods _in the same battle_, but then again I guess maybe they're two different generations/divisions/separations of ODST based on their very different armors. That, or they could've just forgone the cinematic on that squad and instead featured a glimpse or cameo of Buck and his ODSTs dropping into the battle, but on the other hand of that I'm not actually sure if they would've been visible with the camera angles they used.
@@joseignaciolopez4380 You might not have been able to see an individual pod, but something like that falling from orbit would've left a trail visible enough to have been seen. You certainly would've seen the braking jets.
Came back to watch this after seeing the Halo TV series. Needed to remember why I still liked Halo. Man did these remastered custscenes do such a better job of being the movie/series we fans really wanted.
Some people dislike the fact that Blur was brought in to make pre-rendered cutscenes, because of Bungie's principles in using in-game graphics and sandbox-style cutscenes, but hell if it doesn't look _fucking awesome_. The Gravemind redesign in the Blur cutscenes is just one example of why they're just _so damn good_. I used to think he looked like a big plant, but the redesign makes him look like a sort of fleshy reaper - which I find fitting for as dangerous, powerful, and wicked of a being as the Gravemind is supposed to be.
I love the brief smile on Commander Keys face after Sgt Johnson quips about Chief flying like a brick. She loves how funny Johnson is, but also knows she has a job to do. She’s ranked high enough to order chief around. The unbelievable feat he just pulled off was just another day in the office. Beautiful stuff.
I hope they'll do cutscenes for Halo 5 too. Their work on Halo Wars was just as good in my opinion. every game company should be banging down their door.

I just made it for jokes sake not anything serious or hate to 343. Have an wonderful day!
Omar Maatoukk I’m glad you put that disclaimer at the bottom, I don’t hate 4 or 5, 5 I think suffered a late rewrite of the story, possibly ordered by Microsoft to make it more ‘t for teen’ rated for more sales, making it feel so dry and rushed. 4 wanted to experiment with new ideas, but didn’t look at the original halo for inspiration in the writing which turned it into a drama fest, which isn’t bad, but not too good either.
I am a person who r3spects the trilogy as a "holy untouchable" game. But what made me like Halo 4 was the fact that Chief was back with the UNSC in the end, instead of drifting in space... waiting... Halo 4 was wierd, more context was needed and personally I think the Forerunners could have been a bit more mysterious. But Chief survived, and Cortana left off with a sad yet beautiful ending. While I wouldnt consider Halo 4 "cannon", I like tge ending. Chief is alive and well. Halo 5, I tried following a walkthrough gameplay on youtube, to say that I was confused after 20 minutes without understanding what on earth was happening is putting it lightly. I like that Halo games are still being made, but Chief's story has ended. We need a new Spartan with character and mystery to take up the mantle.
I love how they also remastered the "Day at the Beach" scene that wasn't in the original game. As much as I consider Halo 4 and 5 to be non-canon, I've got mad respect for the work 343 put into this remake.
Halo ended with Halo 3. with a Badass ending and it felt right it felt like we really finished the fight. After that it went downhill and i consider it to be non canon
HAZARDGrunt4500 It's been a while since I made that comment, and I've warmed up to Halo 4 and, to an extent, Halo 5. They're okay, and Halo 5 multiplayer is good. None the less, chill the fuck out, you don't need to tell someone to jump off a bridge because they didn't enjoy a game as much as you did.
as a guy in my 20s struggling a bit with finding my purpose, i tend to rewatch these cutscenes this story truly does recalibrate and inspire me. Thought I’d share this feeling I have to maybe help others who are going through something similar to remind you guys that you are the hero in not only this story but your own as well, finish the fight and keep your spirits up.
I don't think that a Halo 3 Anniversary is necessary but I would love to see Blur remaster them and especially see the cutscene where Arbiter kills the Prophet of Truth.
Indeed, not to mention in terms of animated films for older audiences or adults, we desperately need more, and this would be a great addition that would help a lot
Well it's not a movie per se, but we have done the Halo Reach and Halo 4 stories all through theater mode. It's pretty hard to navigate, but overall we're happy with the results. Check 'em out if you haven't done so already! ua-cam.com/video/SoFIl4f_DmI/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/nUbKco-t59Q/v-deo.html
+Solaxe S I bet making a game costs about as much as a movie so it should be a thing already. Also Halo: Fall of Reach was shit(the animated show not the book).
It's probably for 2 reasons: #1 they live in an ideological bubble. If you disturb or challenge their thinking, you're deemed a bigot #2 they've become morally and creatively bankrupt. Nothing new has been made because all their minds have been poisoned by ideological nonsense, which is all consuming and twist old franchises for the sake of a misguided form of progress.
Sesa 'Refumee (the Covenant heretic) could have easily convinced Thel of the true meaning behind the Halo array, but no. He had to pull out his bloody guns and shoot him before Spark could work his magic. Could've saved a lot of time.
They was on a quest to regain his honor at any means necessary so I don't think he would've actually listened. Actions speak louder than words so he had to be shown. Sesa acknowledged this in one of the terminals
+richard barrett Also, Guilty Spark was about to tell him the truth after killing the heretic leader but Tartarus trapped and captured Guilty Spark before it could spill the beans...that's why it wasn't until the end of Halo 2 where he learned the truth once Miranda and Johnson helped kill Tartarus and Guilty Spark was finally able to tell him the actual truth since he was a "Holy Oracle" making it FAR easier for the Arbiter to listen and believe it.
I know, because there is no reason to be pissed. That is how I know, and if you were. You would have launched into a massive rant about how you are. Be a troll somewhere else.
Same, the sandbox AI was so cool I'd almost always give them the better weapons In sections with Elites, I'd always give them the swords and super weapons I found ODST would always get my snipers and shotguns
This is by far, the greatest and most entertaining series of cutscenes/"game movie" in existence. I can literally watch this over and over again and not tire of its majesty.
Looking back at this whilst being older and more educated about video game development, it blows me away how they managed to achieve all this on the original Xbox (minus the remastered cutscenes of course).
It always make me sad that armory guy dies :( I always like to pretend he's just unconscious or something lol. I don't know what it is with Halo, but I always feel some sort of sadness whenever friendly AI like the Marines or ODST die. I couldn't care less in any other games, but for Halo I always hate seeing them die.
People tend to be just looking for any complaints they can possibly think of about this game and generally anything 343 does. I think half these comments were written in a weird nonsensical anti-343 rage. It's goddamn annoying. The cutscenes look fucking beautiful. I wouldn't call the gameplay graphics beautiful, but they're by far an improvement and they look awesome. This game looks amazing. 343, keep doing what you're doing.
We as gamers are so nostalgic, that anything new is initially rejected. The crazy thing is that 343 is quite literally giving us exactly a Halo fan would want, and yet I still see a sea of complaints. Constructive criticism is fine, but blind rage is crazy. Halo 4 wasn't perfect, but was good in my opinion, and very promising.
Gamers Little Playground™ well said! Thanks for making this by the way guys. For some reason I didnt get the very end cutscene with locke and arbiter. So yeah thanks
***** yeah definitely, took bungie's stuff then took a dump all over it and called it halo. "Lets just redesign everything and make it all shitty and god awful. And while we're at it lets make all the familiar sounds sound really lame" - epic fail.
wish them would have shown the ODST drop pods in the cut scene where Regret's Carrier jumps out of the city much like how Halo 3 ODST showed In Amber Clad sneaking up along side the carrier just moments before launch.
The details in the cutscenes are absolutely incredible. I've never seen anything like it in a video game before. This is such a change from the original, and I like it.
Agreed. There are subtle emotions as well. Good examples would be Miranda choking up in emotions when she was given the award in honor of her father. Tensions between the Brute and Arbiter just as he was sentenced to death. The arbiter constantly nursing the wound from the mark of shame on his chest with his hand during the conversation with the the prophets. Mercy frantically tried to press a button on his armrest as the flood made their way to him, I am guessing he was trying to access his plasma pistol to fend for himself.
Anyone who says the originals are better is just lying or playing off nostalgia with the exception of small stylistic choices like elite armor. There is no doubt the new ones are better, they are able to convey so much more subtle emotion, discontent, anger, approval. Just so many details the original in-game cutscenes were not capable of doing. Not that those are bad, but they are dated, aged.
Halo 2 has always been, and always will be, my favorite Halo game. The fact that I have played it all my life and know the game by heart is my reasoning.
My favorite part about Halo 2 was how you were leading almost a suicide mission against the Covenant on Delta Halo in order to prevent Regret from activating it. Not to mention our only support was from (in the eyes of the Covenant) a pitiful frigate which only carried a handful of marines, pelicans, and ODSTs. This really added to the suspense for me, I remember even as a kid I could not put down the controller because I was so fixated on this amazing story. I really hope Halo 5 can provide us with similar scenario.

+Bay is Bae Now that you put it that way, it does make a lot of sense why he sounds like that. I still can't get over how ridiculous he looked in 3 with his "fish lips". XD

Every line of dialogue in this game is as amazing and memorable as the game itself, let's be real. Everyone who played this game back in the day still remembers probably half the lines from this game. I know I still quote this game ffs, and it's been like 15 years since I first played it.

I wonder if Buck’s squad was ordered to drop right after the scarab was destroyed?
No, it wouldn't. They're too small, so it wouldn't have made sense if they were visible from that point of view.
@@joseignaciolopez4380 You might not have been able to see an individual pod, but something like that falling from orbit would've left a trail visible enough to have been seen. You certainly would've seen the braking jets.

I love it! It's ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING. Definately nightmare fuel!!
It would be epic if it was sandbox, but the ingame graphics were in par with anniversary cutscenes
Yup. He used to look like the plant from little shops of horrors

Omar Maatoukk I’m glad you put that disclaimer at the bottom,
I don’t hate 4 or 5, 5 I think suffered a late rewrite of the story, possibly ordered by Microsoft to make it more ‘t for teen’ rated for more sales, making it feel so dry and rushed.

The arbiter constantly nursing the wound from the mark of shame on his chest with his hand during the conversation with the the prophets. Mercy frantically tried to press a button on his armrest as the flood made their way to him, I am guessing he was trying to access his plasma pistol to fend for himself.
Salvatore Vassallo Oh, absolutely.
Salvatore Vassallo Heck, not only does the body language of the aliens look more realistic, the ALIENS look realistic.
And the Gravemind looks creepy as fuck.

I'm just imagining him like a little kid saying
Master Chief: "I WANT THE BIG ONE"
Literally a cinematic masterpiece
“This is not your grave, but you are welcome in it”
That scene where the Marathon class (I think) gets hit by the glassing beam (I think) and explodes while Chief dives straight past it is amazing.
“Come out so we can kill you.”
“Get in line.”
That line is way more badass than it warrants.
15:37 There is an interesting little detail here. You can see the long swords blow up part of the Covenant ship to give Chief access to the core.
Halo 4/5 ended ip being pretty solid, but highly devise.
The scene with MC delivering the bomb from cairo to the covenant ship mid orbit was just....wow...classic halo
These redone cutscenes are some of the best thing about the Halo 2 remaster. They look excellent. I love the "look" of the Halo Universe so much
0:22 Tanaka is the red visor, Buck is green, Vale is purple.
