I have just bought Xtractive Transitions and they are not dark indoors unless I am standing next to a window with sunlight streaming in, which happens with all the photochromic lenses I have had
@@DVDPlus I have Gen 8, Xtra Active and off-brand photochromic lenses (I like having variety lol). After months of use, all three show a very slight tint while indoors. They're so not-noticeable they I forgot it war a thing until I read your question
I’d love some but I won’t ever buy some unless you can have the option to have them normal in sunlight too. Might want a picture outdoors with your family that isn’t hiding your eyes behind sunlight ?
So how do polarized lenses factor into the equation? I use progressive prism lenses 100% of the time er than sleeping. So outdoors use is frequent. Driving, golf fishing, tennis, etc.
Hi there! Thanks for the question, polarized lenses factor in if you need extra glare reduction/clarity. They help to filter out light bouncing off of surfaces, especially reflective ones like water. So they're great for outdoor activities! Even more so for sports like fishing.
Does the gen 8 work well with polycarbonate or is it best suitee for plastic lenses only? Does it get as dark or does polycarbonste not work as well? Thanks!
Thanks for the video. Can you suggest me if as an accountant which one better? If Xtractive its good choice? And the different between xtractive and gen 8 is very slight?
I bought glasses with gray Transition Signature Gen 8 lenses, but everyone tells me they look brown on my face. I have tested them with white paper and they are indeed gray. What kind of magic is this?
Any thoughts on Progressive lens with Xtractive polarized? Is there a cons when using on a computer screen especially i work 8 hours a day on computer screen?
Polarized lenses are not recommended for computer working. If you do 8 hours a day computer, opt for workspace or degressive lenses instead of progressive
Hi George Camba, thank you for watching. :) Yes, both the Transitions Gen 8 and XTRActive are clear indoors. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hi I recently went to LensCrafters and got a ray ban pair. I went thinking they were going to give me the new XTRACTIVE but didn’t even give the option. When I received them they didn’t work when I drove my car and when I went in to ask why they told me it doesn’t matter they both don’t work in a car you’ll have to get a pair of sunglasses with a prescription. The reasoning why I got these eyeglasses with Transitions was for it to work both outside and in my car and I’m doing research and the XTRACTIVE do work in a car so I’m not sure why the lady working at LensCrafters don’t me otherwise I’m quite angry.
Hi WRLDNEL, thank you for watching. :) We're sorry to hear you had that experience. The Transitions XTRActive polarized indeed darken even behind the windshield, to help protect your eyes from bright light. However, they do not polarize in the car because the windshield blocks UV rays. If you need a new pair or consider changing your lenses, talk to us on our chat at rx-safety.com/. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Thanks for the video. What would you recommend for driving? I have a pair of Rayband but are far to dark for me. What mid range darking glasses would you recommend? I’m looking for prescription progressive lenses and only will use for drinking. Thanks and keep up the videos. Anthony
Hi Mohammed Fayaaz Khan, thank you for watching. :) Regarding the coating for all day use, we can recommend scratch and anti-fog coatings. Depending on your needs, you can also add UV protection and anti-reflective lens coating. When it comes to the lens type, here at RX Safety you can choose from four options: standard single vision, digital single vision, lined bifocal ft-28, or progressive bifocal. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
@@RXSafety , aren't these UV and AR coatings already included in Gen8 and Xtractive lenses ? So paying additionally for these protection layers is like a free bonus for the shop?
Thank you for this info. Now, what’s the difference between the xtractive new gen and the xtractive polarized? Which one gets darkest outside? Thank you again :)
@@RXSafetydo the XtrActive Polarized lens have a little more tint inside? What is the negative to polarization inside such as watching TV or computer screen if any?
I don't like if the glasses turn dark inside because it defeats the purpose of buying transition lenses that's why I bought the gen 8.
Hi picanha69, thank you for watching. :) The Transitions Gen 8 is indeed a great option, we're glad to hear you like it.
Xtra-active are superb. I ended up in a restaurant and got the window seat. My Xtra-actives saved me
Wouldn’t the xtractive do the same?

Does the Xtra Active lens go dark under a hat and whilst not in direct sunlight.... I notive that no one shows the lens under a hat or a cap
It’s worth noting that XTRActive have a bit of tint indoors.
That's a reason I care to much about. What about gen 8, do they have a bit of tint indoors?

big note: the gen 8s DO transition in hot weather, i had them living in jamaica for years and they transitioned quickly and fully with no issue
Hello when you go indoor how long they will clear?
Between the two what would you recommend for my 7year old?
do the xtractive stay slightly darker when indoors making it hard for daily use?
No, you probably don't notice anything if you have come from outside.
Yes, they are always tinted

@ruiamaral1974, Thank you for watching. Sounds like a lighting trick! If they test gray on white paper, they're fine. It's just how light hits them

If you don't want them to be too dark, you need to get the GEN 8.

Hello boss..
Can you suggest me the darkest lenses available in market?
Maybe more darker than Xtractive lenses..
Thanks again
Normal sunglasses stage 4/5
I saw some videos on UA-cam of transition lenses that turn into mirror lenses
I have a feeling that they take much more time to become clear than GEN 8
I have both. The xtra takes forever to clear out feels like it takes 1-2 mins if not longer
About a minute and a bit to be clear but lighten quickly. You will honestly not notice it
Didn’t see a difference
Which is better for driving? XTRActive or XTRActive Polarized?
XTRActive transition lenses work great for driving.
Just xtra-active as the polarised I find didn't go as dark

Polarized causes eye fatigue if you spend prolonged periods of time looking a screen. Phone, PC, ect.

Transition lenses do not work well in hot climates. Xtra active included. 90° and over.
yes the colder the environment the darker the lenses will get that is true. Its not that they don't work they just don't get as dark.
