I just wanted to say that I've started playing Helldivers 2 recently and thanks to your videos I quickly turned from a newbie to someone who goes on level 9 missions against the bots without being (too much of a) hindrance to my team. Your work is the pride of the Federation and this video is no exception.
Honestly I love this stratagem. No max uses, so it's not often truly wasted if it goes south, and if you learn how to drive it effectively you can avoid so many engagements and you're so damn fast to do objectives. I've even had moments where we went 2-1-1 and after the objectives were done, one got called a bot drop on em. Went to them, shifted into 2nd gear and did a 180 drift spin, he hopped into the HMG turret and off we went to number 4, picking them up and racing to extract. We were able to split up because it was so easy for us to unite the squad when necessary with that damn vehicle speed. Bonus points cause it was on an extreme heat planet.
If nothing else, it's a pelican shooting the area with its autocannon for 10 seconds. While they're on a bit of a higher cooldown, just calling them in whenever is perfectly viable.

Not sure if Commisar will see this. I’ve been experimenting with quite an unorthodox build. Primary : Lib Concussive Secondary: Grenade Pistol Grenade: Gas Armor: Light gas resist Booster: Experimental Stim Stratagems: FRV Supply Pack EAT Commando (Yes it’s all blue. It’s mad fun. I’ve gotten kicked a couple times when the host doesn’t see me take a red stratagem. Everyone else loves reds but it’s gotten stale for me.) I’m a taxi service. Ferry the team to their next objective. Drop EATS. Drop Commando. Support the team if they need it but I usually break off once the Napalm barrages start falling. Gotta keep the car safe. I’m a delivery driver. 80% of the time driving around, I’m the one that finds the super samples first. Drop samples at extract. Drop Mega Nest Egg at extract. Drop EAT and Commando in prep for extraction. Drop Mutant Larvae (not many will want to pick this since it takes the backpack slot. It’s not as painful for me since I can drive back for my Supply pack afterwards.) I’m a stalker exterminator. Drive up to a lair. See 4-5 stalkers. Park somewhere the stalkers have to chase me to. Get on the HMG. Stim and mow them down as i tank their hits. Stalker lairs are a breeze with this. If I’m on foot when I discover a lair, the Lib concussive can hold off 4 stalkers long enough to throw a gas grenade at their feet. Then mop them up. I’m a nest destroyer. One Commando rocket or EAT to each shrieker or spore nest and a few HMG rounds destroys them. From any range. Let your team save their recoilless and spear rounds. My entire loadout is disposable. I’m a one man mega nest SWAT team. Between the grenade pistol, gas grenades, the expendable launchers and dropping EAT pods and Commando pods onto bug holes, mega nests aren’t too difficult. Lib Concussive and gas grenades at my feet keep the chaff off me long enough to Stim and run through the crowd to the next bug hole. Don’t be afraid to blow through 2-3 backpack supplies for one mega nests. I usually run through 6 stims on average for the booster speed up and juking hunters and impalers. Though if a bile titan starts out in the nest, I usually take it out first since that’s the worst thing to have chasing me when I’m clearing the nest. Tip: drive to a POI or bug patrol and trigger a bug breach there. Then drive back to the nest. Saves a lot of hassle.
I like it Helldiver. Focusing all your efforts on a specific job is something I fully endorse! Also glad to see you using the lib concussive. Makes a lot of sense for someone glued to their vehicle!
This may be more effective against bots since they dont require as much mobility during boots on the ground combat, but since the puma basically provides your team with the capability of getting anywhere on the map at a moments notice, it's a good oportunity to run heavy armor builds since you'll have to do way less running across the map. Imagine rolling up to a heavy base and then hopping out with 4 brutes carrying hmgs, riot shields, and 500 kilos. EDIT: then after you've shredded everybot in that base you can pile back in and storm the next
I love the new frv cuz it’s reawakened my teamwork skills since I developed a bad habit of just running into objectives, stealthy or fast, getting it done then disappearing I also run only blue and green with maybe a gas or smoke strike
I absolutely love the FRV, probably one of my new favourite stratagems in the Corp. A combo I found recently is the FRV with the W.A.S.P Launcher, where you can pick up your team, bring them to the fight, retreat and then lay down fire against the bots from range, taking out pesky rocket striders, devestators, but most importantly, cannon- and bunker turrets in just 2 to 3 rockets, making it amazing at disabling the threats to the FRV, keeping it alive for longer. As for the rest of the loadout, bring whatever you like! Personally I like running a strafe run and OPS for the tougher targets and fabricator demolition, but the sky is the limit when it comes to the other 2 free slots.
I have taken the FRV in every single mission (except for VIP defense) since it has been available for call in. It is by far the best stratagem in the game. I drive it so much that I changed my name to 'Ryan Gosling from Drive' Because I DRIVE.
Been loving the frv. As the getaway driver, I combined this role with my sniper roll. I run AMR, supply pack, and Strafing Run. I can stay with the frv, out of the fray, provide sniper support. If my position is compromised or a teammate is in trouble, I can quickly get behind the wheel, rescue and resupply them.
In the accessibility settings in game, there’s an option to automatically reverse if holding the break whilst stationary (not the hand brake). I’d recommend switching it on😊
On top of Kai’s amazing tips in this video here are other tips for the FRV from an addicted driver😈 First tip, maximize the potential of the HMG Turret: Whether there is a gunner there or not putting the FRV in an elevated position and making it a great value HMG Emplacement can really do wonders for your team. If you have a gunner there make sure to here and there drive slower or come to a stop to allow them to hit most of their shots. Second tip, switch to gear one if you have a tire or a few tires shot out: This improves your handling a lot with the sacrifice of your speed obviously. However, it allows you to keep the vehicle mostly stable while not drifting all over the place. Third tip, if you’re taking the FRV think about what biome and weather effects has first: I personally do not take the FRV on sandstorms and blizzards for bot planets, fire tornado planets, asteroid planets, and volcanic activity planets. Imo these planets are where the FRV really struggles. However, if you’re really careful you could be fine. Fourth tip; you can still drive if you have a data package or a black box: You just have to get in the front right passenger side with the package and switch seats. Fifth tip; Bot and Squid armor and survivability suggestions: For these factions I’d recommend brining a Personal Shield and Med Kit Passive Armors. The Personal Shield will mostly protect you from incoming fire and the Med Kit Passive Armors will help with that as well with their increased stim effect allowing you to tank even more fire. Final tip, take the Acclimated Passive Armors or Killzone Armors against the Terminids: These armors give you 50% against acid attacks so wearing these armors while driving protects you a ton! My Superhelldive FRV loadouts are below. Bot FRV: Light Med Kit Armor, Purifier, Senator, Stun Grenades, Commando, Personal Shield, FRV, and Orbital Walking Barrage Squid FRV: Light Med Kit Armor, Sickle, Senator, Impact Grenades, Commando, Personal Shield, FRV, and Strafing Run Bug FRV: Light or Medium Acclimated Armor, StA-11 SMG, Loyalist, High Explosive Grenades, EATs, Supply Pack, FRV, and Emancipator Mech
FRV Gunner, Squid Variant: Light Siege Ready Armor, Crossbow, Redeemer, [Grenade of choice, I like gas], MG-43, Guard Dog (AR variant), [Orbital Strafe or Orbital Rail Cannon], [Anti-Tank or HMG Emplacement]. Anytime you hop out, you have both a quick answer and continuing solution for any threats you face. Plus, a Redeemer mag will drop the shield on a landed squid ship, and the crossbow finishes it off. From start to finish, generally less than 5 seconds. No need to waste a strategem. If you run the MG in the FRV dry, just hang out one of the back seats, and it's almost the same.
Good point about the handbrake, I gotta remember that more often. I've been trying out the 'Helldriver' loadout and joining lower level missions; it's been fun hearing players go 'WE GOT A CAR? BRO! Where'd you get a car!?' and driving them from objective to objective. Lots of fun moments.
Another thing I thought about. The driver and others planning to stay with the car might want to consider medium or heavy armor against the bots to reduce damage taken. Like the Kodiak set that reduces explosive damage. If the driver went engineer and had smoke or stun that is 2 extra grenades to throw when jumping out to assist team. Or even a med kit so they can stay alive longer. Nothing worse than your driver kicking the bucket and no one in control of the car. Anyone planning to get an UBER lift to a location and then head off to do their own thing could go light armor. Maybe instead of a spear or recoilless they could go commando or quasar with a jetpack, if not the AMR. It all depends on the plan the team has.
I can't agree with your comment on the rear-mounted HMG... It shares the same cooldown as the HMG calldown (480 seconds) but with twice the ammo; and it's on a much more maneuverable platform. If you have a squadmate who's an HMG aficionado they'll be right at home.
Its recoil is horrible, it's difficult to hit anything while driving, it can't be refilled, and leaves you very vulnerable when there's a lot of things shooting at you. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think you can throw grenades or Stratagems while sitting there (though I think they said they are working on fixing that?). Having the option to use it is always nice, but personally I found myself avoiding it unless I happen to just be standing near an objective and there's no reinforcements happening.
One of my favourite moments in this game now was rolling up on top of a hill with the car and seeing the whole squad jump pack directly into a base, it looked glorious
love running a medic support build with this for bots. any med medic armor, beam rifle, stim pistol and thermite grenades. bring shield relay, hmg, supply pack, and puma, just be the uber driver, medic, and support gunner the whole mission
Get your polka music ready. Also, there’s some awesome gameplay moments. Someone brought a car, but after we leveled a bot base, we got into the car to head for the next objective. However, 3 gunships appeared over the horizon and started chasing us. So a me on the machine gun and a passenger with a quasar cannon was firing behind us while we tried to make our getaway. It was a scene right out of a movie.
I've found a great loadout for the Hell Driver. It actually makes you feel like a hell driver, always being in some kind of vehicle while being useful to the team. Take a mech and 2 turrets then grab a spare support weapon and backpack from teammates when available. If the car has an accident and is still on cooldown or you're on an objective that would benefit from a mech, drop it for the extra DPS.
A powerful combo I've been running against the Terminids with a buddy of mine is having him sit in the backseat with an Autocannon while I switch between driving and acting as AT clear out the passenger window with a Spear. First thing we usually do in a mission is take a loop around the map to clear all the outposts, spore spewers, shrieker nests, and hatcheries if that's the mission type, all without ever exiting the vehicle. You can usually get all that done before even needing to resupply, which pairs very nicely if you've got two other helldivers working on main objective as they can each double-dip for ammo and stims.
If you are coordinating loadouts. Have the driver bring FRV and big orbitals, no support weapon. Have another team mate bring EAT and just have the driver grab the 2nd of those EATs If you get good at driving you quickly figure out where to park in order to deploy your helldivers to tackle an objective. When the team deploys, driver gets out and mans the gun, he's just become an HMG emplacement. Driver can also use those orbitals to soften an objective or cover a retreat as needed. Good fun.
I’ve been rolling with consistently on super helldive Strafing run Hmg AT emplacement Rocket sentry Lib pen Thermites Medium fortified armour Great for team support and you have an answer for pretty much everything
Puma, Arc Thrower, Jump Pack, and Precision Strike paired with a scout armour and the Blitzer makes you a terrififyingly effective skirmisher and Taxi. You barely need ammo, you move way fast, you can point out where enemies are, and once you drop off your crew you can quickly work on POIs if you need the credits
This is my favorite support weapon- THE PUMA. I love driving around, We get to objectives faster and more time to explore. Along with using it as an emplacement turret on wheels and being able to call as many as I want! Everyone gets a Puma! Had an awesome moment where our ships left and on the way to extraction I could see the shuttle landing from a distance and I kept on racing to it with everyone screaming and board it the last second! It was amazing
I equip and drop the sentry supply pod by the vehicle every time we park it and get off to destroy outposts. It keeps her safe while we do our thing and we come back and refill before riding out again :)
you can also shoot and reload a support weapon yourself even when driving. just jump in through the front passenger side and hit c. it will toggle you between driving and gunning. as long as nobody is sitting in the passenger seat, you can always hit c, rocket a hulk or fabricator, hit c to go back to driving and reload while doing so.
I appreciate that Helldiver! I had a lot of fun making this one. Driving around with the squad is just so darn effective and chalked full of hilarious moments.
I'm glad to see more super chauffeurs on the battlefront. One other tip I would give is to keep the purifier and loyalist holstered while riding along in a puma. When you stop aiming you will automatically shoot your charged up shot inside the car, destroying the wheels and your reinforcement counter
Some Cadets I was playing with wanted to try out the Puma (they asked if I had the "whip", which is apparently slang for a car 🤷) when we were fighting Automatons, so I brought along the Shield Generator Relay and it worked really well to protect the Puma from gunfire when we pulled up on an outpost to raise hell!
eagle airstrike, spear, frv, and orbital laser with the explosive crossbow and thermite grenades with engineering kit passive armour. Use whatever secondary you want but i like the dagger because it's cool. You can pick stuff up like those automaton sample heads or ssd cards since crossbow is one handed, quickly take out annoying stuff that might be harder for your team like gunships or tanks with the spear, remove big enemies like hulks pretty fast with the 5 thermites you have access to, and run around the map with the frv. Pretty great general purpose loadout that i like to take if everyone else on my team already has support options like the recoilless and autocannon/railgun.
I’ve definitely been learning to drive this thing. If not for the blinding sandstorm on our recently conquered MO planet, I might have pulled off a 45 sec sample save. Sadly I crashed into the lower rock wall below extract with 6 seconds left and the guy standing on the ramp to delay takeoff got left behind with me for waiting too long. Though being chauffeured around on a swamp planet was nice…when the pilot didn’t drop the poor drivers car in a tree and caused it to land like a turtle on its back. XD We learned grenades couldn’t flip it. Which was good because before seeing the host toss the grenade I was ready to waste a recoiless shot near it in similar fashion to the failed rocket jump shown in the video.

Since they gave us the FRV, I use it every match. I like to drop on low level missions, call the FRV, bait some low level inside the vehicle, and then I take them to some secluded hideout at the end of the map and show them why they shouldn't trust strangers, with my electricity baton. Best driving game ever!
I dont know if anyone will see this but i want to put it somewhere. When i first got the puma i had an idea for it where everyone but the driver gets the support flamthrowers spewing out the sides of the vehicle as the driver plows through a terminid nest
One time I run over illuminate watcher. I was driving with my squad and we were going to go down hill. Then I saw it. Floating up the same hill. I put the frv on the 2nd gear to gain more speed and hit it mid air. One of my team members said something about zombieland but I didn't watch it so I didn't get the refference. But the squad was pretty excited about what happened. I wish I had recorded it but I didn't.
one loadout ive been feeling is good as a split off solo from the rest of my squad in quick play is stratagems orbital walking or eagle 500 FRV (car, puma, warthog) autocannon a sentry of sorts more so as a lure for enemies than it to defend a place armor peak physique or super heavy armor depending on how evasive you want to be out of the car and how much you want to rely on the car for transport weapons pretty much anything but i will recommend throwing knifes with this just as a last resort for when you cant reload your autocannon or other weapons
this loadout works with the fact that when you get in the passenger seat the switch seats to drive when you find something you need to take out you can swap seats again and be able to fire your auto cannon at the aforementioned thing then switch seats again to drive away. though do make sure you get in the passenger seat first once again as if you dont and get in the driver seat when you switch seats to passenger you wont be able to fire any weapon or throw any grenade. make sure you do ferry around any allies that you come across in your adventures to any objective and have fun with the loadout that im calling the "drive-by uber"
1:37 its not a manual, its just an automatic. All those options come with most cars. In some they're just labeled differently in some cars, like L for low gear. Mine has D3, so its the first 3 gears. 2nd does NOT mean 2nd gear. It means the car is limited to 2nd gear, the car will still flow between 1st and 2nd gear. Still an automatic.
I would love a ultimate helldive, where instead of exfilling after the mission you could drive or walk to the next one, or have limited lives to complete like 4 objectives instead of one
With the vehicle you can also just circle around groups of bugs keeping them occupied while your teammates do objectives. I don’t know if it is a effective strategy but the one time I did it save my team enough time to rearm their stratagems and finish the main objective while all the bugs were focussed on me in a lvl 10 mission.
I tried the car build against illuminate & it came out with no orbitals or eagles also. I used wasp & emplacement strats (anyone notice that the lock-on helps you scan for hidden enemies from night, glare, storms, etc? kind of helps you scan the horizon when driving to an emplacement spot to cover your team). these strats help to deal with medium & heavies, while the car takes up your third slot. fourth strat being your flex, which you play off the rest of your loadout. for my loadout, I wanted to use the heavy siege ready armor & play around with different guns against the illuminate. the car is a low key buff to heavy armor in general, because you can just drive your fat ass to the next area instead of always showing up as last place of an impromptu marathon run. I ended up running the tenderizer & nade pistol, because I increase the rpms to drop the shield of a warp ship (enemy spawner) in one mag, then detonate it with a thunk from the pistol. this allowed me to delete these targets while jogging by, faster than it takes to do a stationary reload & of course not relying on aerials, which can be handy during overtime of a blitz mission, strat cooldowns, or during an ion storm. (if you want to know, my fourth strat pick was, it was the tesla tower, because i was having fun with it, but im sure yall can think of something more reliable or grab an aerial.)
I've been bringing Recoilless, HMG, the FRV, and either the tank emplacement for bots or the 500kg for bugs, and speedrunning nests and outposts like a mad man. Can practically clear the map solo before the mains are even done. Against bugs, if i'm feeling quirky, i'll bring the emancipator instead of the 500 and give my team the car while I clear the big nests. It's a shame so many divers refuse to get in the car, I completely understand why, given the drivers I've witnessed, but I promise I'm a good helldriver :(
Im the wheel man for my team. I run the Puma, RR, Orbital Lasor and the 380 or orbital Napalm. I use the Cinderblock heavy Armor, Lib Pen rifle, Senator and Thermite or Fire Nades. I do Fire Support, Map Scouting and Resource farming.
I wear the B-27 cuddle suit with jump pack, las-can and MG&AC sentries. my friends bring the car and I drive, tank damage, and place sentries (I can also jump pack back to the car if the team needs me back)
Mobile base of operations, HMG emplacement, mg or Gatling turret, puma, and supply pack. Just part in tactically defensible positions and make sure you call in those reinforcements.
It’s not reliable at all, but if you do dive and shoot a recoiless rifle at your feet, there is a chance it will propel your ragdolling body similarly well to a jump pack. I’ve used it to make it to extract when I was running out of time and there were too many ledges to climb over

(Yes it’s all blue. It’s mad fun. I’ve gotten kicked a couple times when the host doesn’t see me take a red stratagem. Everyone else loves reds but it’s gotten stale for me.)
I’m a taxi service. Ferry the team to their next objective. Drop EATS. Drop Commando. Support the team if they need it but I usually break off once the Napalm barrages start falling. Gotta keep the car safe.
I’m a delivery driver. 80% of the time driving around, I’m the one that finds the super samples first. Drop samples at extract. Drop Mega Nest Egg at extract. Drop EAT and Commando in prep for extraction. Drop Mutant Larvae (not many will want to pick this since it takes the backpack slot. It’s not as painful for me since I can drive back for my Supply pack afterwards.)
I’m a stalker exterminator. Drive up to a lair. See 4-5 stalkers. Park somewhere the stalkers have to chase me to. Get on the HMG. Stim and mow them down as i tank their hits. Stalker lairs are a breeze with this. If I’m on foot when I discover a lair, the Lib concussive can hold off 4 stalkers long enough to throw a gas grenade at their feet. Then mop them up.
I’m a nest destroyer. One Commando rocket or EAT to each shrieker or spore nest and a few HMG rounds destroys them. From any range. Let your team save their recoilless and spear rounds. My entire loadout is disposable.
I’m a one man mega nest SWAT team. Between the grenade pistol, gas grenades, the expendable launchers and dropping EAT pods and Commando pods onto bug holes, mega nests aren’t too difficult. Lib Concussive and gas grenades at my feet keep the chaff off me long enough to Stim and run through the crowd to the next bug hole. Don’t be afraid to blow through 2-3 backpack supplies for one mega nests. I usually run through 6 stims on average for the booster speed up and juking hunters and impalers. Though if a bile titan starts out in the nest, I usually take it out first since that’s the worst thing to have chasing me when I’m clearing the nest.
Tip: drive to a POI or bug patrol and trigger a bug breach there. Then drive back to the nest. Saves a lot of hassle.
I like it Helldiver. Focusing all your efforts on a specific job is something I fully endorse! Also glad to see you using the lib concussive. Makes a lot of sense for someone glued to their vehicle!
Used to run out time running to extraction, now we get all the POIs and file our nails waiting for Pelican with 15 minutes remaining 💅

This may be more effective against bots since they dont require as much mobility during boots on the ground combat, but since the puma basically provides your team with the capability of getting anywhere on the map at a moments notice, it's a good oportunity to run heavy armor builds since you'll have to do way less running across the map. Imagine rolling up to a heavy base and then hopping out with 4 brutes carrying hmgs, riot shields, and 500 kilos.
EDIT: then after you've shredded everybot in that base you can pile back in and storm the next
Yeah this was pretty much my vision for team play with a vehicle.
I love the new frv cuz it’s reawakened my teamwork skills since I developed a bad habit of just running into objectives, stealthy or fast, getting it done then disappearing
I also run only blue and green with maybe a gas or smoke strike
I absolutely love the FRV, probably one of my new favourite stratagems in the Corp.
A combo I found recently is the FRV with the W.A.S.P Launcher, where you can pick up your team, bring them to the fight, retreat and then lay down fire against the bots from range, taking out pesky rocket striders, devestators, but most importantly, cannon- and bunker turrets in just 2 to 3 rockets, making it amazing at disabling the threats to the FRV, keeping it alive for longer.
As for the rest of the loadout, bring whatever you like!
Personally I like running a strafe run and OPS for the tougher targets and fabricator demolition, but the sky is the limit when it comes to the other 2 free slots.
I have taken the FRV in every single mission (except for VIP defense) since it has been available for call in. It is by far the best stratagem in the game.

Been loving the frv. As the getaway driver, I combined this role with my sniper roll. I run AMR, supply pack, and Strafing Run. I can stay with the frv, out of the fray, provide sniper support. If my position is compromised or a teammate is in trouble, I can quickly get behind the wheel, rescue and resupply them.
In the accessibility settings in game, there’s an option to automatically reverse if holding the break whilst stationary (not the hand brake). I’d recommend switching it on😊
On top of Kai’s amazing tips in this video here are other tips for the FRV from an addicted driver😈
First tip, maximize the potential of the HMG Turret: Whether there is a gunner there or not putting the FRV in an elevated position and making it a great value HMG Emplacement can really do wonders for your team. If you have a gunner there make sure to here and there drive slower or come to a stop to allow them to hit most of their shots.
Second tip, switch to gear one if you have a tire or a few tires shot out: This improves your handling a lot with the sacrifice of your speed obviously. However, it allows you to keep the vehicle mostly stable while not drifting all over the place.
Third tip, if you’re taking the FRV think about what biome and weather effects has first: I personally do not take the FRV on sandstorms and blizzards for bot planets, fire tornado planets, asteroid planets, and volcanic activity planets. Imo these planets are where the FRV really struggles. However, if you’re really careful you could be fine.
Fourth tip; you can still drive if you have a data package or a black box: You just have to get in the front right passenger side with the package and switch seats.
Fifth tip; Bot and Squid armor and survivability suggestions: For these factions I’d recommend brining a Personal Shield and Med Kit Passive Armors. The Personal Shield will mostly protect you from incoming fire and the Med Kit Passive Armors will help with that as well with their increased stim effect allowing you to tank even more fire.
Final tip, take the Acclimated Passive Armors or Killzone Armors against the Terminids: These armors give you 50% against acid attacks so wearing these armors while driving protects you a ton!
My Superhelldive FRV loadouts are below.
Bot FRV: Light Med Kit Armor, Purifier, Senator, Stun Grenades, Commando, Personal Shield, FRV, and Orbital Walking Barrage
Squid FRV: Light Med Kit Armor, Sickle, Senator, Impact Grenades, Commando, Personal Shield, FRV, and Strafing Run
Bug FRV: Light or Medium Acclimated Armor, StA-11 SMG, Loyalist, High Explosive Grenades, EATs, Supply Pack, FRV, and Emancipator Mech
FRV Gunner, Squid Variant: Light Siege Ready Armor, Crossbow, Redeemer, [Grenade of choice, I like gas], MG-43, Guard Dog (AR variant), [Orbital Strafe or Orbital Rail Cannon], [Anti-Tank or HMG Emplacement]. Anytime you hop out, you have both a quick answer and continuing solution for any threats you face. Plus, a Redeemer mag will drop the shield on a landed squid ship, and the crossbow finishes it off. From start to finish, generally less than 5 seconds. No need to waste a strategem. If you run the MG in the FRV dry, just hang out one of the back seats, and it's almost the same.

Good point about the handbrake, I gotta remember that more often. I've been trying out the 'Helldriver' loadout and joining lower level missions; it's been fun hearing players go 'WE GOT A CAR? BRO! Where'd you get a car!?' and driving them from objective to objective. Lots of fun moments.
Another thing I thought about. The driver and others planning to stay with the car might want to consider medium or heavy armor against the bots to reduce damage taken. Like the Kodiak set that reduces explosive damage. If the driver went engineer and had smoke or stun that is 2 extra grenades to throw when jumping out to assist team. Or even a med kit so they can stay alive longer. Nothing worse than your driver kicking the bucket and no one in control of the car.
Anyone planning to get an UBER lift to a location and then head off to do their own thing could go light armor. Maybe instead of a spear or recoilless they could go commando or quasar with a jetpack, if not the AMR. It all depends on the plan the team has.

I can't agree with your comment on the rear-mounted HMG...
It shares the same cooldown as the HMG calldown (480 seconds) but with twice the ammo; and it's on a much more maneuverable platform.
If you have a squadmate who's an HMG aficionado they'll be right at home.
Honestly i kinda wish it was just a normal MG, more ammo and easier to aim, feel like it would have been better imo
Aaand you can use it to take down tougher enemies when needed, especially considering you aren't going to be on the move all the time.
If you could use supplies to reload it it would be way better
Its recoil is horrible, it's difficult to hit anything while driving, it can't be refilled, and leaves you very vulnerable when there's a lot of things shooting at you. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think you can throw grenades or Stratagems while sitting there (though I think they said they are working on fixing that?).
Having the option to use it is always nice, but personally I found myself avoiding it unless I happen to just be standing near an objective and there's no reinforcements happening.
If it had next to no recoil, it’d be great imo
One of my favourite moments in this game now was rolling up on top of a hill with the car and seeing the whole squad jump pack directly into a base, it looked glorious

love running a medic support build with this for bots. any med medic armor, beam rifle, stim pistol and thermite grenades. bring shield relay, hmg, supply pack, and puma, just be the uber driver, medic, and support gunner the whole mission
Get your polka music ready. Also, there’s some awesome gameplay moments. Someone brought a car, but after we leveled a bot base, we got into the car to head for the next objective. However, 3 gunships appeared over the horizon and started chasing us. So a me on the machine gun and a passenger with a quasar cannon was firing behind us while we tried to make our getaway. It was a scene right out of a movie.

I've found a great loadout for the Hell Driver. It actually makes you feel like a hell driver, always being in some kind of vehicle while being useful to the team.
Take a mech and 2 turrets then grab a spare support weapon and backpack from teammates when available.
If the car has an accident and is still on cooldown or you're on an objective that would benefit from a mech, drop it for the extra DPS.
Kai in game: "Watch this sick drift".
Kai in real life: "If I drive over 25 mph on this 40 mph road, I might actually die."
A powerful combo I've been running against the Terminids with a buddy of mine is having him sit in the backseat with an Autocannon while I switch between driving and acting as AT clear out the passenger window with a Spear. First thing we usually do in a mission is take a loop around the map to clear all the outposts, spore spewers, shrieker nests, and hatcheries if that's the mission type, all without ever exiting the vehicle. You can usually get all that done before even needing to resupply, which pairs very nicely if you've got two other helldivers working on main objective as they can each double-dip for ammo and stims.
Love this content. The fun builds are great and info is good.
If you are coordinating loadouts. Have the driver bring FRV and big orbitals, no support weapon. Have another team mate bring EAT and just have the driver grab the 2nd of those EATs
If you get good at driving you quickly figure out where to park in order to deploy your helldivers to tackle an objective. When the team deploys, driver gets out and mans the gun, he's just become an HMG emplacement.
Driver can also use those orbitals to soften an objective or cover a retreat as needed.
Good fun.
Puma + with 2 team with HMGs and one with the hornet launcher for illuminate worked REALLY well. for a time it's 3 HMG's mets everything

Puma, Arc Thrower, Jump Pack, and Precision Strike paired with a scout armour and the Blitzer makes you a terrififyingly effective skirmisher and Taxi. You barely need ammo, you move way fast, you can point out where enemies are, and once you drop off your crew you can quickly work on POIs if you need the credits

This is my favorite support weapon- THE PUMA. I love driving around, We get to objectives faster and more time to explore. Along with using it as an emplacement turret on wheels and being able to call as many as I want! Everyone gets a Puma!
Had an awesome moment where our ships left and on the way to extraction I could see the shuttle landing from a distance and I kept on racing to it with everyone screaming and board it the last second! It was amazing

I equip and drop the sentry supply pod by the vehicle every time we park it and get off to destroy outposts. It keeps her safe while we do our thing and we come back and refill before riding out again :)
you can also shoot and reload a support weapon yourself even when driving. just jump in through the front passenger side and hit c. it will toggle you between driving and gunning. as long as nobody is sitting in the passenger seat, you can always hit c, rocket a hulk or fabricator, hit c to go back to driving and reload while doing so.

I'm glad to see more super chauffeurs on the battlefront.
One other tip I would give is to keep the purifier and loyalist holstered while riding along in a puma. When you stop aiming you will automatically shoot your charged up shot inside the car, destroying the wheels and your reinforcement counter
Some Cadets I was playing with wanted to try out the Puma (they asked if I had the "whip", which is apparently slang for a car 🤷) when we were fighting Automatons, so I brought along the Shield Generator Relay and it worked really well to protect the Puma from gunfire when we pulled up on an outpost to raise hell!
eagle airstrike, spear, frv, and orbital laser with the explosive crossbow and thermite grenades with engineering kit passive armour. Use whatever secondary you want but i like the dagger because it's cool. You can pick stuff up like those automaton sample heads or ssd cards since crossbow is one handed, quickly take out annoying stuff that might be harder for your team like gunships or tanks with the spear, remove big enemies like hulks pretty fast with the 5 thermites you have access to, and run around the map with the frv. Pretty great general purpose loadout that i like to take if everyone else on my team already has support options like the recoilless and autocannon/railgun.
I’ve definitely been learning to drive this thing. If not for the blinding sandstorm on our recently conquered MO planet, I might have pulled off a 45 sec sample save. Sadly I crashed into the lower rock wall below extract with 6 seconds left and the guy standing on the ramp to delay takeoff got left behind with me for waiting too long. Though being chauffeured around on a swamp planet was nice…when the pilot didn’t drop the poor drivers car in a tree and caused it to land like a turtle on its back. XD
We learned grenades couldn’t flip it. Which was good because before seeing the host toss the grenade I was ready to waste a recoiless shot near it in similar fashion to the failed rocket jump shown in the video.

Ok hear me out puma (frv) 2 heavy mechine gunners in Passenger seats and turret gunner so the bugs can taste the storm of lead
few things feel as cool as drifting around a factory strider while your passengers all pop out of their seats to unload eats into it.
Since they gave us the FRV, I use it every match. I like to drop on low level missions, call the FRV, bait some low level inside the vehicle, and then I take them to some secluded hideout at the end of the map and show them why they shouldn't trust strangers, with my electricity baton.

I dont know if anyone will see this but i want to put it somewhere. When i first got the puma i had an idea for it where everyone but the driver gets the support flamthrowers spewing out the sides of the vehicle as the driver plows through a terminid nest
One time I run over illuminate watcher. I was driving with my squad and we were going to go down hill. Then I saw it. Floating up the same hill. I put the frv on the 2nd gear to gain more speed and hit it mid air. One of my team members said something about zombieland but I didn't watch it so I didn't get the refference. But the squad was pretty excited about what happened. I wish I had recorded it but I didn't.
one loadout ive been feeling is good as a split off solo from the rest of my squad in quick play is

a sentry of sorts more so as a lure for enemies than it to defend a place

peak physique or super heavy armor depending on how evasive you want to be out of the car and how much you want to rely on the car for transport

pretty much anything but i will recommend throwing knifes with this just as a last resort for when you cant reload your autocannon or other weapons
this loadout works with the fact that when you get in the passenger seat the switch seats to drive when you find something you need to take out you can swap seats again and be able to fire your auto cannon at the aforementioned thing then switch seats again to drive away. though do make sure you get in the passenger seat first once again as if you dont and get in the driver seat when you switch seats to passenger you wont be able to fire any weapon or throw any grenade. make sure you do ferry around any allies that you come across in your adventures to any objective and have fun with the loadout that im calling the "drive-by uber"
1:37 its not a manual, its just an automatic. All those options come with most cars. In some they're just labeled differently in some cars, like L for low gear. Mine has D3, so its the first 3 gears.
2nd does NOT mean 2nd gear. It means the car is limited to 2nd gear, the car will still flow between 1st and 2nd gear. Still an automatic.
I would love a ultimate helldive, where instead of exfilling after the mission you could drive or walk to the next one, or have limited lives to complete like 4 objectives instead of one
You can have someone use the directional shield to guard the sides of the Puma. The gunner is also a good candidate for the personal bubble shield.
With the vehicle you can also just circle around groups of bugs keeping them occupied while your teammates do objectives. I don’t know if it is a effective strategy but the one time I did it save my team enough time to rearm their stratagems and finish the main objective while all the bugs were focussed on me in a lvl 10 mission.

Driving 101 *for PC players* should be what that explanation at the start is called. Gotta be clear.
I tried the car build against illuminate & it came out with no orbitals or eagles also. I used wasp & emplacement strats (anyone notice that the lock-on helps you scan for hidden enemies from night, glare, storms, etc? kind of helps you scan the horizon when driving to an emplacement spot to cover your team). these strats help to deal with medium & heavies, while the car takes up your third slot. fourth strat being your flex, which you play off the rest of your loadout. for my loadout, I wanted to use the heavy siege ready armor & play around with different guns against the illuminate. the car is a low key buff to heavy armor in general, because you can just drive your fat ass to the next area instead of always showing up as last place of an impromptu marathon run. I ended up running the tenderizer & nade pistol, because I increase the rpms to drop the shield of a warp ship (enemy spawner) in one mag, then detonate it with a thunk from the pistol. this allowed me to delete these targets while jogging by, faster than it takes to do a stationary reload & of course not relying on aerials, which can be handy during overtime of a blitz mission, strat cooldowns, or during an ion storm. (if you want to know, my fourth strat pick was, it was the tesla tower, because i was having fun with it, but im sure yall can think of something more reliable or grab an aerial.)
I've been bringing Recoilless, HMG, the FRV, and either the tank emplacement for bots or the 500kg for bugs, and speedrunning nests and outposts like a mad man. Can practically clear the map solo before the mains are even done.
Against bugs, if i'm feeling quirky, i'll bring the emancipator instead of the 500 and give my team the car while I clear the big nests.
It's a shame so many divers refuse to get in the car, I completely understand why, given the drivers I've witnessed, but I promise I'm a good helldriver :(

Im the wheel man for my team.
I run the Puma, RR, Orbital Lasor and the 380 or orbital Napalm. I use the Cinderblock heavy Armor, Lib Pen rifle, Senator and Thermite or Fire Nades.
I do Fire Support, Map Scouting and Resource farming.
I wear the B-27 cuddle suit with jump pack, las-can and MG&AC sentries. my friends bring the car and I drive, tank damage, and place sentries (I can also jump pack back to the car if the team needs me back)
Y'all calling it the Puma unlocked a core memory for me.

It’s not reliable at all, but if you do dive and shoot a recoiless rifle at your feet, there is a chance it will propel your ragdolling body similarly well to a jump pack. I’ve used it to make it to extract when I was running out of time and there were too many ledges to climb over
