In the UK and Europe, most countries have overall length regulations for HGVs. That's why most of the tractor units are Cabovers and only have a single drive axle, to keep them compact, so the trailer can be as long as possible. You mostly only see long nose trucks with twin drive axles in heavy haulage and Recovery trucks.
I love ALL your videos Andy!! Here’s another idea… come to Washington state… REI is a big outdoor equipment company in our area… they might like to sponsor your trip. It’s a beautiful area (ocean, mountains and lots of camping) you could go to other states too! The Oregon coast is gorgeous… anyway, just an idea to cut expenses and see another part of the world. 😊
Andy, I am not a truck driver, but I do enjoy road trips, and I can tell you that the truck stop in your video is Much nicer than any I have ever seen in the United States. Yours looked so clean! 💜
Thanks Andy for another most-excellent video, I used to eat at TTT truck stop in Tucson, Arizona after work on the swing shift all the time since hardly any decent restaurant was open. Great video Andy, definitely different. One of the reasons it could have been so busy is because French law prohibits HGV's from being on the road on Sundays.
