For those who don't know, Josh Hartnett didn't have a failing career and went away. He basically retired to spend his time being a father... now he's back since his kids are older. The kind of guy you don't see in Hollywood.

No..him being the butcher is to obvious of a twist to have kept it a secret. I knew he was the killer as soon as the guy said "the butcher" ...expect a great twist at the end..I'm thinking his wife might be the real butcher ..and he's keeping her secret

Besides, it's nothing to complain about because it's the HOOK of the film, Shyamalan notwithstanding. "Serial killer learns a concert venue is a trap set just for him." No twist needed.

Another theory I have is that the dad was a previous victim of the butcher but escaped. He’s pretty messed up now and the guy trapped in the basement is a flashback of himself. In actual reality there is no one in the basement, but the dad is so psychologically messed up that he sees his younger self in the video crying for help.

Its a sequel to the sixth sense. The kid has been working with police for years now and thats how they know the killer is definitely there and they're out in force because he's never been wrong but its actually the daughter whos the killer. Or something like that.

Only a teenage girl would announce they'd be at a concert and I'm guessing somehow someway some friends of The Butcher( ie; the girl) came to the conclusion that it was her with enough evidence to get the police involved. That's what I'm going off of.

And like in his Pearl Harbor days he’ll save it if the screenplay sucks. He is such a versatile actor now and pulls off every genre, comedy, horror, heroic, thriller, romance. His indie canon of work is amazing.
Interesting that it's a movie about a father and daughter, and M. Night's daughter is playing Lady Raven, the singer.

The Faculty, H2O, Pearl Harbour, O, Lucky Number Slevin, Sin City, August, 30 daya of night, Hollywood Homicide, Bunraku, I come with the rain, Penny Dreadfoul, The Fear Index, Wrath of Man, Rose Du Guerre, Oppenheimer and Rain Man on London stage, the first man who ever been the image of Emporio Armani and many many more....Josh is such a great great and talented actor and he's so genious in the way he aproches his roles and he is also a very inteligent man and was not fair what the papparazi did to him since 1998 till 2013 when he decided to retire ane to keep a low profile. A beat of my heart will always be for him and i am trully happy for him and that he once again is recognize by Hollywood as he deserve. When i first " meet him" he wae a hearthrob and a ladies man, now he's a father and a husband who lives a normal life. So i'm here for this movie cause if Josh thought it's a good movie to be in it, then i trust his choice as always and i know this movie, twist or not twist, it's gonna be a hell of a ride and it won't let us down

Calling the twist now! The asian prisoner in his basement 1:50 is actually the real "Butcher", and maybe Josh Hartnett tracked him down, captured him, and wants to torture him for revenge of his dead wife that the butcher killed years ago or something.. Maybe the ending Josh Hartnett gets killed, police show up at the house rescue the asian guy in the basement, and then we get revealed that the asian dude was actually the real butcher, showing flashbacks of his killings, and flashbacks of Hartnett catching him, telling him he's gonna pay for what he did to his wife... but no one finds out besides us the audience, and the news/police labels the guy as SURVIVOR HERO, and plasters Josh HArtnett as THE BUTCHER all over the news when we know that's not the truth. It would be such a shocking, grim twist. That feels more like something I would expect from M. Night... the daughter being the real butcher like everyones saying is too easy imo.
I wonder if this takes place in realtime like Grand Piano (2013), so it captures the entire concert from start to finish.

I was a fan of his since Pearl Harbor, that was an amazing under rated movie... then Halloween h20 classic
the movie is basically a father who brings his daughter to the concert setting up a fake leak about the butcher just to get the concert tight on security because his personality is like that. or he already caught the butcher (probably the asian guy) tied him up and it's a wholesome movie about a father bringing his daughter to a concert with added paranoia to us audience.
