First on my Facebook than at work now I gotta deal with in my videos
You should've do the trailer for Long legs is one of the best marketing campaigns ever put in neon
Am I the only one who didn't find Glass disappointing? I find it way more rewatchable than Split
I love how the detective was from 'the parent trap' because the police are trying to TRAP the girls parent.
Or is josh a step dad?
You have a very good eye for detail. No way I would have noticed all of these things from this little trailer, nice work!
Twist is the daughter is the real killer dad just supports it
That’s what I was thinking about too 😂
I thought the same!
That would be funny😂.
Support your kids’ hobbies. That’s the lesson here.
I think that's also too obvious, still think there is a bigger twist than just the daughter being the killer cause anyone can figure that out.
The most unusual part of the conversation with the merch salesperson is, how does the merch salesperson know what the police plan is. They would never tell a merch sales person the plan.
I thought the same thing.
Life is like watching the newest M. Night Shyamalan movie
You never know what you're gonna get
I see what you did there
as long as its not The Happening-2008 something Goosebumps : Stay out of Basement did better job of
The only good movie he ever made was the one about those people that were like the Amish... the thing is... at the time everyone considered it the worst one... shows you how much I value the opinions of others...
Saying the name of the person you are talking to (usually at each sentence you say and/or at end preferably) helps put them at ease and makes them feel like you are connecting and engaged.
Don't gotta be after every but an example lol
Yes, exactly!
I've been called crazy for saying this. Alot of people around me don't think psychology is a real thing
Sorry. Not for me. I must be the exception. When people drop my name in the conversation often when it's obvious I'm the only one they're talking to feels demeaning, condescending and disingenuous to me most times. I totally agree with Eric's assessment.
@@jendaar it's never a one size fits all thing when it comes to this stuff. I feel the same reaction but I've done this exact thing to other people
@Tremori_A and those same people tend to have case book psychological issues... lol
i really hope Josh gets major awards one day. he's a legit great actor yet always seems to fly under the radar.
Honestly, a grown up cole communicating with a victims ghost and consulting with law enforcement would be great
I saw that article earlier today. That would be an amazing twist
Yes, I'd love this
The trailer makes it look like the police set a trap but it’s really JH’s character who setting the real trap!
That could be interesting
I agree. I think that Josh's character is the one that set up the trap.
I like where this could be going. Keep on talking about it.
TaylorSwift: “Evermore”
LadyRaven: “Nevermore”
Bingo
And Swift is a type of bird... vs Raven
Plot twist is there's other serial killer in the stadium... It's Jamie!
Naw, no way Jamie is the serial killer. 😁😄
What if the twist is "Josh has the butcher captive in his basement & doesn't want the police to take him in because he wants revenge"?
I think you're onto something here..maybe the butcher killed his wife? Also he DOES seem to move amongst the police as if he is one of them?
doesn't make sense then why the police know the butcher going to be at the concert
@@elmazizo3639 true, but you never know with Shamalan? Right
Think so too!
@@elmazizo3639 Because he had the tickets.
An old SALESMAN TECHNIQUE, of repeating your "prospect" name, makes you feel important and like a friend and secretly people like to hear their own name being called out. But its a way to get someone to trust you fast.
You caught that too
i do that as a teacher
Agreed and if not feeling more important they arleast feel like your listening to them
Trap is the most excited for a Shyamalan film since Glass. Unbreakable was a movie I watched a lot as a young teen and is never talked about enough. I agree with you that I think this will connect with The Sixth Sense.
Is M Night Shyamalans universe connected? Ik Unbreakable, split and glass are but is the 6th sense connected too!”?
I think it might be way too convenient. As great as "The Sixth Sense" was, to me, I hope it remains a standalone story that never gets a sequel. It doesn't need one. The way it ended was perfect.
I have always been a huge Hartnett fan, thrilled he's back in the forefront! I just watched Glaas again, and I shut it off, so I can imagine the ending I want!
What if, Josh Hartnett’s character is a killer who goes after supervillains but instead of bringing them to justice he just simply murders them. It’s definitely like Dexter, but making it fit within the Unbreakable universe would be interesting
If you've never seen it, check out Frailty with Bill Paxton. Not superheroes, but...
@@TheOneTrueJack Frailty was definitely a dark and twisted movie. Showed how people may not be as innocent as we think and sometimes karma shows up to them very unlike the way most people might think it would.
Twins. The twist is gonna be Josh Hartnett is playing twins.
So one is framing the other?
Thanks for ruining it
Or one twin is a police officer while the other is a serial killer.
And it will only be revealed later in the movie that they are 2 different people
It’s a twin of Spencer
Gonna call it now, he’s not the killer. The M night twist is that it’s gonna be someone completely different but the main character will still be somewhat a killer.
Watch it be the leads daughter or mother, Hayley mills might be his mom
Anyone else notice the fact that not only is JH wearing the earpiece but he has an ID badge in the shot at 9:59
Good catch. Perfect trailer imho.
@@GreenClassified I agree
I'm getting the feeling that Cinema Sins is going to have a field day with this one.
Lol
I can't watch them anymore without hearing Th3Birdman or Jay Exci
@@solvseus Me too
I feel like the concession worker was apart of the plot to catch him. First, why would he know what the feds are doing. Second, why would he share?
Why does anybody share a secret? Because once you know a secret, there's a part of you that really wants to share it. Some are able to resist that and keep it under wraps, others not so much.
The twist is the daughter being the serial killer
Ohhhhhhh this I like
thought the exact same thing, but then that also seems far too obvious for him
That's very weak, he wouldn't do that... Since literally EVERYONE is suggesting it
No it's not at all 😂
I was interested in this movie since cinemacon and now I only realized that this was also filmed in Toronto in the rogers centre which is where I live. Now I’m even more excited.
Two things:
1. Enormous respect for Shyamalan for all the reasons mentioned and I completely agree that the "twist" in the trailer is not going to be the only one. His grocery lists have twists.
2. Signs plotting does make sense if the creatures are demons and not aliens (look it up).
When watching trailers like this, you can expect a few things:
-That this particular director will give you something as to how the the story and narrative is going to play out which means there’s more than meets the eye.
-That the director will most likely do a cameo in it like he did in some of his recent movie projects he had done or has his family in it somehow.
-There’s a psychological or emotional aspect and twist to the movie so it’s not just an ordinary movie.
-The twist is going to deal with the title and how it’s often taken out of context so it brings in the audience to think outside the box. Like in this case I’m getting that maybe the main character is actually a schizophrenic or super paranoid so his inner thoughts are getting the best of him or maybe he is dealing with a loss and all of this is just figments of his imagination or a “trap” to gain control of his personalities. Just saying.
Overall a great movie idea and I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.
I didn't want to see it until after you broke it down, now I'm intrigued.
Stop glazing
The Butcher just sounds in the world of Unbreakable
I do see that actually. What if the Dad is actually a vigilante within that universe who hunts murderers.
SO happy you made a video for this trailer/movie!!
It could be something like a reverse 'The Crow' where a Raven carries the soul to the afterlife... It could all be happening at the moment of his death, and this metaphor is the Raven guiding him on, making him come to terms with his evil... rough thought.
I could see it being an alter of Kevin with Kevin talking to authorities. The other thing I could see (If anyone could pull it off, Shymalan could) is Hartnett's character not being The Butcher in the end. I don't know how you do it, but I could see him pulling it off.
I had no expectations when I saw the trailer, and by the end, I couldn't wait to see the movie or this video
Same with me
I watched the trailer.. I wasn’t really interested.. but somehow I keep rewatching the trailer and NOW I’m intrigued! It just hooked me lol
This trailer has me completely sold! I had no interest seeing this movie til I watched the trailer and now I can’t wait!
In “Glass”, Mr. Glass mentioned towards the end that it wasn’t the culmination or final battle of sorts, but an origin story. But who’s? Bruce’s son? Could this be connected in that way? I’m definitely intrigued.
I was hoping the three at the end would bring together a group of heroes. Still don't get the whole clover group thing.
Damn, didn’t know Haley Mills was in this. I feel like THAT is a twist alone! lol
Daughters Dead, hes gone nuts. He was at the concert alone.
Yo dnt
He is not the butcher but he is keeping the butcher in his basement for revenge for killing his daughter.
@@alicegerembergdoesn't make sense then why the police know the butcher going to be at the concert
I read that it could possibly be a secret sequel to The Sixth Sense. How else would they know the killer would be there unless.....one of his victims reached out to a now adult Cole who is helping police catch serial killers with information. It wouldn't surprise me if M. Night is trying to build off of his older movies. It worked with Split and Glass
That's fair
the lead detective is his mom. leavin this here :D
The twist: Josh Hartnett is a grown-up Cole Sear from The Sixth Sense. He went mad after communing with some many dead people.
I think its more likely a grown up cole communicated with a murdered victims ghost and cole tipped the FBI/helping the FBI. Cole being a deranged serial killer would completely ruin coles backstory and the sixth sense in general.
I'm not gonna lie I would be down for the return of Haley Joel as his character from sixth sense using his gift to help the police.
Okay all real M. Night Shyamalan fans will know that in the extras on The Sixth Sense DVD, he explained that he used red to signal that Dr. Malcolm Crowe is actually deceased. I understand how other films have used red but if we are in M. Night Shyamalan’s world, then I’m leaning more towards this being a kind of mental prison instead of the obvious ‘Trap’. If he uses red to signal something that isn’t obvious to the viewer, it makes me feel like this isn’t going to be a typical killer just trying to evade police (which is obvious).
Definitely. And for the sake of being obvious, whether you like M. Night or not, he is a good and experienced director. He's not gonna put the films big reveal in the trailer unless he's using that to throw us off from what's really happening
They wouldn't reveal him to be the serial killer if they didn't want the audience to be lulled into a degree of security with that fact. The twist is he's the bait for the serial killer because he 'fits' the profile of their victims.
ur first sentence makes the second sentence/your guess make literally no sense FYI lmfao
I’m a Shamalyan fan until I die. The Village for life!
The village was great. The twist wasn't huge but still satisfying and I remember being gripped thought the whole film.
The arena setting is reminiscent of Unbreakable. And the theme of colors like red and yellow also makes me think this will another super powered human 💪🏾
The title may imply it's a trap for him, but I think that it's a trap for someone else. He may also be a part of the police force or he's retired. I also think another family member like his wife or even the elder ones play a key role in this movie.
TRAP = PART .. wow
Parent - Trap. Get it?? 😂
No matter how it goes down, I think that he and his daughter leave just like normal.
Part of me thinks the singer is the one they think is the killer
I fully agree on what you said about m night continuously grinding and doing whst he loves. I enjoy his movies
Im callin it now, Harnetts character is a "retired" serial killer, who has passed the torch to his daughter (the chopper) in a Dexter sort of way lol.
When people tell me their name I usually say it so that I remember it better. Am I a socipath?!
The twist is that Hartnett is a killer but hes not the Butcher - he has the Butcher hostage and avenging his wife's death.
He kills on the stops on the tour.
Josh Hartnett was my one celebrity crush when I was growing up, and I'm thrilled to see his comeback! He is a fantastic actor and he's barely aged at all. So hopefully many more interesting roles to come!
Watching TheTrailer I Thought...
"That MoFo *IS* Whom They're Lookin' For!"
15 Seconds Later, TheTrailer *REVEALS* What I Thought!
and 45mins in you'lll realize THATS not true either lol
While the interior of the concert venue is filmed within First Ontario Centre, the exterior shots were filmed in Toronto outside Rogers Centre.
This looks pretty good. You called it when you said it's a mix of good and bad. When it's good, it's so good.
I've worked on this film and in addition to First Ontario (formerly Copps) Colliseum in Hamilton Ontario, some of the stadium scenes were shot at Rogers Centre (formerly Skydome) in Toronto. The scene with them parking the car that you pointed out the traffic sign above them on the overpass, was actually the Gardiner Expressway in downtown Toronto. There were a lot of locations in and around Toronto. I think you're right (I don't know about the Haley Joel Osment connection...) there's more to this plot than meets the eye for sure! I can't wait to see it in theatres!
It’s actually shot in Toronto.. I’m pretty sure that’s the Roger’s Centre ..
Unbreakable=Green, Split=Yellow, Glass=Purple, and Trap=Red
Just throwing a nugget out there that there's maybe a copycat killer involved somewhere which led the cops to the concert. JH knows his methods are full proof so he's trying to find the copycat too or at least stage someone to be in order to keep attention off himself.
Looking forward to this one!
Repeating someone’s name back to them is a way to instill trust and confidence.
M. Night can do no wrong imo, his movie are always watchable.
Avatar the last airbender is an abomination of a film
But still watchable!!!!! Watchable to say how bad it is but watchable non the less
Watchable if you leave all logic, reason and your brain at the door.
I’ll be watching for sure!
My guess is that the twist is that he is not the main serial killer. There is a second serial killer in the arena that they are actually looking for and there will some type of conflict between the two killers lol.
he made the excellent "the servant" series on Apple TV.
He has dabbled in the "streaming game"
I really enjoyed the trailer and when it comes to M Night Shyamalan's movies, I'd rather someone take a risk and come close than play it safe. Even in his lesser received films there are elements and/or scenes that stand out as great, so this is definitely one I'll be checking out.
I just watched The Visit and honestly its in his top 5 best. Knock at the Cabin was good but would've been incredible had he stuck to the books original ending.
I recall on the commentary of the 6th Sense, M Night loves using the color red on the set, typically an object, when setting up an tense scene
Red in The Sixth Sense was used to symbolise the spirit world and its influence upon the real world. Every time you see red, a ghost trapped in limbo either accompanies it or appears shortly thereafter.
Shyamalan is probably putting his extension of the Unbreakable universe to rest or, at least, off to the side and now is looking to expand upon The Sixth Sense, which honestly, I'm surprised he hasn't done sooner. I firmly believe Trap is extending The Sixth Sense universe and opening the door to more projects with Cole as a focal point.
Wouldn’t mind the twist being Haley Joel Osment character from sixth sense talking to Josh Harnett character as he was the dead one who helped the real butcher get away his murders and ended him killing Josh’s daughter and him to cover “loose ends” and the whole trap is for the true butcher. Kinda like Identity with John Cusack esque.
The interiors are shot at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, but exteriors of the arena are actually the Skydome, or Rogers Centre as some people call it, in Toronto. The more you know :)
The twist will be its a sequel to 2010’s Devil, and instead of being of trap in an elevator the Devil as the lead investigator has trapped him in the concert
That would be so dope if they were able to keep that part secret!!
You are so talented. So interesting to watch
What if the twist is that he is indeed the butcher, but he is like a Dexter type character where he kills other serial killers and extremely bad people, hence why he had that look of glee in his eyes when he was looking at that individual chained up. Maby he lost his wife to a killer and now he goes around taking out other killers he finds out about.
I like this take. And what if the lead detective is his mom? A real family affair… a “trap” set by his “parent,” so to speak. But is it really a trap for him, or does he maybe have a twin? Or is mom in on a multi-generational secret… like they have a secret power to know who to catch and kill (other serial killers, etc.). All of that would make it interesting to see where his daughter fits in. This could be really good, I have high hopes for it!
Twist, Josh Harnett is suffering from multiple personalities, and one of the personalities is trying to help the police, but since they arent the dominate personality they can only leave bread crumbs. I believe the first line in the song, reveals it all, and Josh Harnett is truly trying to save himself from himself.
The color red shows up a lot in the sixth sense and represents the barrier between the ghosts and the real world. Maybe something to do with the red clothes and titles in the trailer?
M Night drew me in with this one, interested to see if Coop makes out😭
Unbreakable-Split-Glass peak cinema
This looks really good
Yeah, I'm definitely going to give this one a shot. I used to think of Josh Hartnett as "discount Brad Pitt" (the resemblance was greater when he was younger). But he's proven himself to be a formidable actor with an unnerving dark side (see the _Dark Mirror_ episode _Beyond the Sea)._ Shyamalan has redeemed himself, too, by proving he's in this for the long game. He fought through some bombs, tamed his ego, and came out smelling like a rose. Good on him.
I enjoyed this video and y our appreciation for his craft. I think hes so special!!
Hayley Mills' character is Dr. Grant... Calling it... They are there to catch him, but not because he is the Butcher. He has the Butcher chained in his basement because he was a cop who went coocoo for coconuts when his wife, Riley's mom, was killed by the Butcher. Dr. Grant is his psychologist. Or not... LOL
I’m definitely going to check this movie out
M Night movie? Yes pay attention to colors.
The exterior shots are definitely in downtown Toronto, with the arena exterior being the Rogers Centre. I bet the last tour stop on the banner is in reference to that
Glass was awesome.
3:50
Not to mention he just gives a random vendor his name
Bringing Haley back would be pretty cool.
What if cole is another person the organisation is keeping an eye on as well as this serial killer who also has some powers
I'm intrigued
Wouldn't it be interesting if the dad isn't the killer? 🤔 He thinks he's captured the butcher, only to discover the person he has locked up isn't him either😮
... Let's wait and see! Then all laugh along with me at how wrong I am 😂🇬🇧
i don't know; something's not adding up here; i mean they if he's the butcher, why does he have this victim kidnapped in lieu of killed?
I'm so excited to watch this! ❤❤❤❤
A lot of this trailer looks to have scenes in downtown Toronto, and the venue looks to be the Rogers Center.
Yeah it’s definitely Rogers Centre. As a Jays fan I spend a lot of time there. Very recognizable. Some of the interior might be First Ontario Centre, but otherwise it’s Rogers
Also, I was checking recent projects Haley Joel Osment was working on to see if he might have snuck into the set of this movie but it doesn't look obvious. Sometimes they're really stupid about this stuff and just put it somewhere in the IMDB listing that he is in the movie.
I'm a big fan of his. I've seen every one of his films and have liked most of them including old and knocked at the cabin.
The whole concept of catching a serial killer at a concert venue full of people is insane. It doesn't make sense because they don't know who it is. So, the fact that they are willing to put everyone's life in danger makes me think that they might torture people in order to find the butcher. So the twist is the hypocrisy of trying to find one killer while actually killing people to find the killer. I mean they obviously aren't concerned for the people's safety right? It's about setting a trap to find the butcher. So, what would make him confess? His daughter being tortured? Himself being tortured? but how many will they go through before they get to him.
I think they are going to keep people there for an insane amount of time in horrendous conditions (extreme heat, no food or water, no bathroom) to try to get him to confess.
Great point. Thank you! I realize that's just a trailer. But that idea makes no sense.
I was thinking something along the same lines as you, bolo for q person you dont even know what they look like? Whoever they're looking for has powers
Fun fact, first Ontario center was originally named copps coliseum. I know because it's where I live :)
True, it's easy to discard a movie you dislike, and perhaps you have some good arguments, but for most films, a lot of efforts were invested to reach a presentable product, and as you argued, mr.Night seems to have a mastery formula for, if not enjoying a bit of fame, at least having some juice to keep rolling on. A few interesting movies are on their way, might be a good 'season' coming for movies this spring ;)
Omg I love Saleka I didn’t know they all were related 😊😊
I feel like if there is a twist, I think the twist would be that there is another killer there and that’s the one they are looking for
I'm pretty intrigued by this trailer. M. Night is a good director & we'll see how this horror thriller plays out.
Bringing back Cole would be amazing
