- For many people, the most memorable thing about the the Trumptonshire trilogy will be the songs and the music. The music itself was composed and played by Freddie Phillips while the lyrics were written by both Gordon Murray and Freddie Phillips.

Wonderful stuff, from a more innocent time, I have all 3 series on dvd and after a few drinks, the wife and I transport ourselves back to our childhoods. Brian Cant = Legend.
Absolutely brilliant. Happy childhood days. Still love these 50 years on , oh to go back to these times with mum and dad, also sadly gone.
So much talent and effort for kids' programs back in the 60's and 70's, beautiful.

Gordon Murray, Freddie Phillips, and Brian Cant and everybody involved with these the Trumptonshire programmes my childhood was the best growing up in the 1970's :) but I was upset on the passing of Gordon Murray and Brian Cant but I remember when trumptonshire trilogy came out in 1966 and 1967 Murray paid over the odds to make sure all the programmes were made in Colour as UK TV television didn't come out in Colour until 1968 and then Chigley came out in 1969
I remember all this from my childhood growing up as a toddler in the 60s & 70s! Thank you for the great upload.

as far as I am aware, Bats In The Belfry was only ever song once, mostly it was used as an instrumntal piece.

Brian provided the vocal characterisations and sang the songs. My younger sister and I used to call a house on Brookside in Carshalton Winksteed Hall because of the pink colour on the outside and this was from the days when we had quality television without the proliferation of reality game shows.
