Great teacher honestly I was so engrossed with the technique I didn't even notice the levels clipping haha I've been using turntables for years and heard about this but now I understand thanks for clearly explaining Ean Xx
I was so psyched to check out this video, but dammit if those levels and distortion weren't killing me.
nice oldschool trick... but why is ean running in the red like crazy XD?!?
please rename it to Beat Clip tutorial...
or just use the "Delay" Effect at the Pioneer DJM600, like the most did it that time :P
No. Wind this back to 1987. This is how it was done. Back then it was just Numark, Gemini and Vestax.
Cool trick!
Redlining lika a pro
Cool stuff! ;)
Dave Clarke used to kill it with this technique!
Name of the record?
This is the basics of chopped and screwed music.
+DjMarco Vi once again plz!
Im an old school DJ. Having 2 copies was the trick. Problem was spent allyoney on vinyl. Couldn't afford the second
This is how i like it, give me 2 SL1210 MK2, a mixer, some records and i am happy, sod al these new things they use today
dat clipping
someone show ean how to gain stage ahaha
Hi, can u suggest any good site to download tracks? thnks!
Jabbawocky beatport. Bandcamp, traxsource
Yes
Nnice distortion presentation!
cool
Track ID?
aw man classic
My monitors hate this video... But it was a good throwback...
please don't let your levels clip next time..
IMO turntablism doesn't apply to most edm especially techno. I'm not talking about mixing with vinyl, only turntablism.
For anyone interested, here is an other old school effect with a similar technique that is usefull for edm. If both records are playing at the same points you can create a manual phasing effect with your pitchcontrol by letting the records go slightly in and out of sync. go try it out
Derrick May and Jeff Mills regularly offset, phase and spin records backwards. Even today. That's how we learned to spin in Detroit :)
Track Id pls
Unknown Artist - Papa Was A Rolling Stone I hope this finds you
uhm pretty sure that's 1/8 not 1/4 note
Wrong
Guys, give Ean slack. Redline=Headline!!
Are they running out of ideas?
Someone teach him how to set levels. Clipping cymbals sound awful.
Man, you're clipping all around
clip,clip,clip,clip,clip
Dat clipping yo.
Is it me or you are clipping big time ?!
I love the tips and info but seriously ... the music suuucks . . .
way too much distortion
Poor levels
Deaf leading the deaf! You ought to take some lessons and stop giving them.
running out of topics eh?
mate this is clipping
I'd just watched your intro to DJ Techtools, and thought you came across well. But you lost all credibility with those levels dude, and clearly, you don't have working ears.
ahaha true.
just use your ears
