I played this when I was 14 and felt so sad for the time past playing MGS1 at 7 years old. Now, at 29, I’m nostalgic for the nostalgia! My resolution is to be more aware and thankful for the present because life really does pass way too fast.

i played MGS1 when i was 12 my parents were watching me playing it, played MGS4 when i was 22, 3am at night, so my ex-gf would not notice, now i am 37, my parents both passed away now, and i am married with a different girl with a kid
@@marknswycSorry to hear of your loss. We are the same age. I played MGS1 when I was 12 too. That was an amazing age to play it at. So glad I found it on a demo disc. Who know if I’d ever have found it otherwise. It’s hard to believe this person played mgs1 at 7. Seemed like it went way over my head even at 12!
The shadow moses hangar part is genuinely one of the best pieces of flashback/ nostalgia in fiction. The absolute chills I got when the best is yet to come started playing. Even now, I get chills. I can only imagine what it must have been like for fans who played these games ten years apart.
The best memory I've ever had playing a video game is one Christmas, my brother, dad and I trying to defeat the first run of Sniper Wolf. Eventually my mom and I left to pick up pizza and came back and they were getting close to winning the sniper battle and got back just in time to watch the next cinematic. Anytime I view this sequence that memory floods back. An entire family bonding over this extraordinary game.
Final fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid on PS1.

I've beaten thousands of games, and the first mgs on the ps1 was the first game that made me cry my eyes out, it affected me emotionally and mentally. Playing this game and returning to shadow Moses moved me, I had to pause the game and take it all in. It really moved me.

I had tears streaming down my face playing this for tge 1st time when best is yet to come kicks in, wave of nostalgia to when I was a kid playing the 1st game was indescribable. Best part of the 4th game for me.

It's just a beautiful game and though i liked MGSV this is clearly how Kojima wanted to end MGS and it's tragic that it's still pretty much a PS3 exclusive to this day
I always felt MGSV was unneeded even when announced. There was already too many games focused on Big Boss and the betrayal by almost everybody at the end of MGS3 gave him enough reason to go rogue.
@johnmcternan4157 even Peacewalker would have been great. I like Venom but I wish Mgsv had been more of a direct prequel to the og metal gear
I cried not gonna lie 😢 mgs1 was one of the best games ever released in one of the best times of my life my youth we all grew older with snake this is a special moment in gaming history
I love how they included the mgs 1 bit in there, I just wish they would’ve kept snake saying “a surveillance camera!?” Lol

This is apart of the PS3's built-in PS1 emulator. It's the actual original game, probably one of the demo versions.

Truly one of the greatest moments in videogame history .
It's not about returning in Shadow Moses, it's all about your childhood when the game released and all new tricks and game graphic made you crazy. Was such a cool thing in the whole industry. I think it's not even about the game, but a feeling that it left when you understood then that PS1 is out of date already and you would never play it again.

I wonder how they were able to incorporate the original mgs 1 into a ps3 game
It's actually running a version of the original game's code through the PS3's PS1 emulator, which is why it loads into that bit with a pure black screen instead of the usual one with the logo. (It's cut out in this video, though.)
2023 and still here thinking on how amazing Kojima and his team were developing a saga that literally Changed Lives and way to think and look at the world for most of his fans.... Kojima placed a message in each of his own opera.... HE is the leggend... what an amazing Creator... just playing this part of MGS4 back in the days when i was 17 made me cry thinking of my self playing MGS1 when i was 5-6 years old.... insane how games can alterate people reality and Point of View... Thank you Kojima...
