Good Luck with your snagging list. Travel certainly does inspire you and helps with motivation.
I am desperate to travel a bit more.
Good luck with your plans for the year: regrouping and finishing the small jobs will make such a difference. All the best Louisa and Mark 😊. That book of Ben Pentreath's looks very enjoyable.
Thank you and yes, Ben Pentreath's book is lovely.
Hello Louisa, you and Mark did so much renovationlast year. It feels like you have a good plan for this year to avoid a major burnout. The skylights and the garden will be brilliant. The other little jobs here and there to make rooms look and feel more like you will help to bring joy as you move along with your renovation this year. I am looking forward to more of your vlogs. Have a wonderful weekend. Take care. ❤
Thank you.
You are a very inspirational couple! Happy New Year.
Happy new year!!
It is going to be an exciting year for you all. Creativity feeds the soul and sounds like you both need that after all the hard work. I love your fabric choices and gardening style so it’s going to be great following you along. Go, the sky light instalments. We put 2 into our last home and it made all the difference. It makes every day and moment enjoyable with the changing light and what it shines on. Happy New Year to you and the family, Louisa. Good health and happiness ❤
Happy New Year!
Little things always make a difference. Hope you have a wonderful 2025.
This year is definitely about the little things 😊
I have a trick that I use. I write a list of '10 to do' and I put things on the list that are little finishing touches. I put it on the fridge. I tick each one off as I do it and don't allow myself to add anything else to the list until it's done. It's amazing how much you can achieve and the pleasure when that list is done is amazing.
I am a list writer too.
I'm so looking forward to following your journey this year.
Me too!
Buckle up. It's going to be quite a ride.
You addressed the stopping of job one to attend to the needful things. I work much the same way. I get the need to clean up and clear out, mid project. When this happens, it puts wind in your sails! You can see more clearly, the vision becomes clearer. You e worked so hard on your bedroom and shower renovation, and if I could wish one thing albeit temporary. I wish two beautiful armoires where the closet will one day be. If nothing else, but a soft landing for the eyes. You have such a knack for finding gorgeous furniture, and I know the truth of it, is having Mark build out the closet, would be far cheaper than the expense or two beautiful cupboards.
I can’t wait for the garden and outside videos. I look forward to warm nights here, after a long day’s work outside, getting to sit down and watch your videos of outside at Starr Corner.😊
In this instance, the wardrobes we are planning aren't necessarily the cheapest option, but they will give us what we want. They will transform the bedroom and create wonderful storage.
Love the first fabric shown. Wonderful colors
I'm glad you like it - it represents the colours of Starre Corner.
Sounds like a very exciting year to come, looking forward to coming along with you both, Happy New Year. Ps Could we have a segment about your Jewellery, you have some really lovely pieces, like the one your wearing now? Love your style. Chris XXX
Thank you Chris. Happy New Year!
I love your idea about travel and being inspired
We are desperate to travel more.
Love your necklace, fab with your outfit
Ah, that old thing ☺Thank you. I bought that necklace many moons ago in the south of France - pre-marriage and pre-children.
It will be a good thing to re-charge your creativity and focus on those smaller tasks that, as you say, can make a huge difference and give you a real sense of accomplishment. Do what you feel is right for you. I'm happy for you. 😊
Thanks Sandy. All the jobs need doing, regardless of how big or small they are.
Really enjoyed hearing of what you are planning for the coming year
The snagging to different parts of the house sounds great seeing the rooms have their own planned look coming together. I will be watching.. The book is beautiful I have the monthly home magazines and cut out pictures and features and keep them in a file to keep going back and looking through for ideas. It sounds like you are ready to enjoy the house more now the main work has been done .
We are looking forward to moving forward with the house renovation.
Great plans Louisa. Once the smaller things are fixed you will feel so much better!!!! Enjoy your lives it is not all about work! Cheers
So true! Thank you.
Thank you 💕✨
You are most welcome.
All my best. I hope your dreams and hopes come true.😊
Thank you Jenny.
New subscriber....been catching up. Love your style, your attitude. Looking forward to this year with you ❤❤ Kathy from Pennsylvania USA 😊😊
Welcome aboard Kathy!
Louise you will get there think of all the nice things you have to go in when it's finished 😊 11:26
I have been following for a while now and look forward to every video. But, do you think you could save for the big jobs eg skylights. Then pay experts to do that job, which will free you up for the garden etc. just a thought xx
It is something we have been talking about.
Excellent vlog. I totally get that renovation takes time, money and labour so very much looking forward to your next post and fo.low your progress.
Thanks so much! 😊
Sounds like a year of consolidation 😊!!! All the very best for it, a change of pace will also invigorate you 😃👍
Sometimes you just have to slow the pace down a bit.
Hi Louisa I'm sure you follow these channels but House &Garden did a tour video of Ben Pentreaths home about a month ago on their Design Notes playlist. I also think you may enjoy Mary fro. The Tartan Topiary. She has a lovely channel based in a colonial home Carolina US. She also looked at Ben's book recently on a video.
Yes thank you. I love watching design notes.
Look forward to seeing everything you do in 2025 x
Thank you Anita. Thank you for joining us on our journey.
😊😊😊am looking forward to this vlog, its been so grey and icy here.Though the last two days blue sky and glorious sunshine.Still deadly underfoot so have stayed in and wow have I cleaned😂😂😂😂
It's treacherous outside. Safe nice and safe Helen.
I am so glad you bought a black Aga..timeless..
It certainly is. Thank you.
Hello Louisa, I love watching your videos! I too have an ‘elegantly knackered’ project and you are definitely an inspiration. I have also been moving from one task to another without totally finishing anything - so I’ll be following your approach and making a list of some of smaller things to accomplish in 2025 - as I think that will give me a sense of achievement to support momentum. At your recommendation, I have ordered the book for style tips… the colour on the cover is exactly what I would like for our kitchen. Thank you again for your content. With much love Emma (Victoria, Australia).
That's great news Emma. Good luck with your renovation journey.
I completely understand the going from one task to another...I am like that...necessity😊😊😊
Absolutely. Not everyone will understand but we totally know what we are doing.
I'm curious if you can finish one room at a time and just check them off? Kitchen with skylights, walls etc ✔️
Shower room, bedroom ✔️. Etc,! It takes a lot of self discipline to stay on one task, but from my own experience it feels so good to systematically move through and soon, voila! The fun stuff - fabrics, decorations...🎉🎉🎉
We are not at that point yet. There have been so many important and necessary tasks to get done and that involves all rooms. It's not about self-discipline, it's about good project planning and ticking off the crucial things. From an outsider's perspective it might appear haphazard but it's really not.
I have the Ben Pentreath book it’s fabulous, you might also like Ros Byam Shaw interior books which would be right up your street. The Perfect English Farmhouse , Perfect English Townhouse, Perfect English Style and Perfect English Cottage. Every book is exquisite and Amazon or World of books sell them.😊
I love Ros Byam Shaw books. I have a few and they are always good to go back and look at them.
When is the kitchen going to be done.
There is no plan to do anything major with the kitchen this year. It's a room which is fully functional and doesn't need our attention this year + it is one of the more costly rooms to finish.
Elephant in room as a woman i would want my kithen done first before think of the garden it drive me mad looking at those walls every day
@@angelaowen5158 Everyone has their own perspective, and I believe that the true value of a home isn’t in its appearance, but in the experiences that take place within its walls. For me, the kitchen is the heart of our home-it’s where we gather to eat, drink, laugh, chat, and fill the space with joy and happiness. I do have a passion for interiors and know that, in time, the kitchen will look amazing. But for now, the love and happiness our home provides is more than enough. The warmth we share here is what truly matters.
You look lovely 🖤✨
Oh thank you!
❤❤❤

I have a random question. We mulch every space of our gardens. Is that a thing in Uk
I am such a novice gardener I can't answer that one. People do mulch but I am not sure whether everything is mulched.
@@elegantlyknackeredstyle I think we're obsessed with mulch lol.
@@cindiblazer8621 🤣🤣🤣
Hi do you and Mark use vinted? How about your daughters?
My daughters sell on Vinted. I prefer to try things on and look at the quality and condition on things.
@elegantlyknackeredstyle nice
Can you give us the spelling of the Sanderson fabric, so your subscribers can look for it where we are. Could be in a discontinued warehouse somewhere. Also did you call Sanderson. They might know a dealer who still has some.
It is called Boveney.
You need the major jobs done before you think about decor and mood boards.
I disagree, surely a significant part of any renovation is planning and budgeting for the interiors too? Paint and wallpaper is extremely expensive nowadays so it is therefore important to make the right choices. It can also be hugely positive, inspiring and rewarding to research colours, pick out soft furnishings and hunt for treasures in places like charity shops and car boot sales; its amazing what you can find (as we know from Louisa’s thrifting adventures) ☺️
@@nessiemasonI agree and Louisa has said as the house evolves her taste has too, so she looks at the mood boards and choices periodically to check.Plus what they buy and sell from the house interior.Great flexability and creativeness😊😊😊😊I think
I’m afraid I have to disagree with you. The interior design process is an essential part of the project and really needs to be tackled from the very beginning. Even Mark, who was quite skeptical at first, now acknowledges how important interior design planning is-many major renovation decisions hinge on it.
Yes, it can be a lot to think about, but having mood boards and a solid design plan keeps us focused and helps us source materials as we go. Plus, we’ve already completed most of the big tasks, so now we’re moving into a more familiar DIY phase.
Just wallpaper behind the aga! 🎉
@@gardenroom65 I’m hoping for tile!😊
