28:00 Dsly goes to get a weapon and gets shot. "Put it down, put it down" - Calm voice. We all know what happens when he is free to roam... with a firearm.
That was one of the most fun Arma videos I've ever watched. Trying to stall them while waiting for Blufor to push up, then trying to signal friendly troops and get your captors killed. Then escaping and hearing the story from Enfields POV, fantastic.
If your gaming group ever wonders why taking points in charisma, diplomacy, etc. is a good idea, then just show them this video. These are _real people_ putting their trust in someone who is supposed to be their prisoner.
I loved how you came back from the dead or rather what was assumed to have been your resting place after the injured marine took you down from the lure but you stormed in at the last second like Rambo and took down CHKilroy Like-A-Boss!
Really smart from Dyslexi but I didn´t like you broke the 4th wall by saying the mission is broken and there should be a bag and those things. I just think that´s a bit unfair cause the insurgent player has almost no choice but to believe you. It´s like saying from the start "I have the codes, I will launch the rocket", then say "The codes dont work, the mission designer made a mistake". Then, what do the REDFOR players do? Instead of saying there should be a bag on the chair you could have said somebody must have took it. At least that`s "in your role".
i'm rather impressed you were able to 'force persuade' the opfor into doing what you wanted, and string em along.. i'll be sure to remember this if i ever get into shacktac, and your one of our hostages :P amazing job none the less :D
Love how even though it says in the mission notes not to pick up a gun so that they aren't forced to kill him he still constantly goes about trying to get one xD
They're so suspicious of you, but at the same time they keep giving you important information... Leading with that 'no one in the driver's seat' thing was a really good way to show the flavour of this episode.
You, CHKilroy and Beagle are the 3 people I look up to when I play Arma. Nice work on stringing those guys on that wild goose chase, something that I like to do in alot of Hostage Situations. :D
That was amazing! I think OJ needs to be demoted and Tarpen (spellcheck?) needs a promotion haha. He did a good job and pretty sure he was on to you the whole time but just went with it anyways.
Love the RP at the start LMFAO! Then through out I was laughing at how well you talked them into doing what you wanted. Just wish we could have seen it from Enfields view as well.
It really speaks to the level of quality of the Shack Tac community to have the hostage takers be willing to go along with it just for the sake of fun as opposed to calling Dslyecxi out on his BS. This is why Shack Tac are the best around.
This is the shiznit! Awesome mission and great video! At the start they should have separated you and the other missile guy and interrogated you both to subsequently compare the consistency of your answers.
As much as I understand the point of the exercise and mission, I would have to agree with a quick execution of a single hostage to increase the effect a bit. This would be effective if the hostages were not aware of this possibilty. One dead at random with the threat of more, would end the fun and stalling from the hostages. I know you get to deal with the general public here, so I do feel for your sanity a bit.... As always, thx from Oregon and loving all your vids.
It was about 10mins through that i realized that they were just playing along. I was just thinking "these people seriously can't be this dumb." They literally just did what any real person in that situation might do if the outcome was that great. Great story telling, Dslyecxi, you should be an author =P
During that entire conversation with the insurgent leader I was really hoping you'd finish a sentence with "there! I've run rings around you logically."
I was laughing quite a bit when they were helping you search that big office building when you had said the briefcase was in a shack earlier. :-) "I dont remember where I put the briefcase exactly, could have been a shack, or a big office building, or an aircraft carrier, lets go look!"
at first i tought you were goin to betray the other hostages so you get set free but man, this was hilarious, i was laughing all the time... one of the funniest vids so far dsylecxi!
Oh! I asked that because if this mission were to be played again, the OPFOR people would know that the missile is just a fake toy and cannot be launched nor would there be "launch codes". But thanks for your poetic answer! Cheers!
I don't normally watch vids of people playing online because I don't play online all that much, but fuck was that worth 40 minutes of my time. Need to get involved!
Any mission that involves player versus player (especially with hostages) has a lot more re-playability than a mission with purely AI. It's unpredictable, different side commanders will chose different strategies. It's not like a play that runs off a script, if anything it's more like improvisation. The mission provides the 'framework', the blank canvas, and the rules. The players paint it, and everyone paints differently. Look, poetry!
You can fire it but it just goes straight up in the air and kind of disappears. There are mods however that let you use a targeting system with the missile.
Dslyecxi, these are the types of videos I love, when you show your intelligence and charisma over the common man to escape your captors, I may be a bit drunk right now, but I meant every word in that sentence! Or, sentences... Fuck it. I loved the video.
They weren't paranoid nearly enough with Dslyecxi. Gotta have at least 4 pairs of eyes on that man because he's like a freakin' ghost
Love how your 'shack' turned into a multi-story building.
bruh you michael westening these dudes, jeez
"You find something Dslyecxi?"
*staring at chair*
"I'm not... I'm not sure..."
Dslyecxi: "It's in a shack."
Me: A SHACK TACTICAL!
That was some proper Michael Westen bluffing there. Well, almost; not enough improvised explosives or injuries. :P
ShadowFighter15 I miss Burn Notice, this is as close as we can get now.
If your gaming group ever wonders why taking points in charisma, diplomacy, etc. is a good idea, then just show them this video. These are _real people_ putting their trust in someone who is supposed to be their prisoner.
+AverageO As a DM, I say amen. This video is roleplaying taken up to eleven.
I really want to be this convincing
Sorcerers love Charisma anyway.
M A G I C B O I S B E S T B O I S
That's one of the most awesome videos I've ever seen!
Love these little "What I'm thinking right now"-notes
Shoulda just starting saying: "I GOT IT! I GOT IT! Lets head back!" So that the marines would have more time to find you. Good job with the lure.
I loved how you came back from the dead or rather what was assumed to have been your resting place after the injured marine took you down from the lure but you stormed in at the last second like Rambo and took down CHKilroy Like-A-Boss!

Yeah. Definitely happy i came back to watch some of this gold. New gold is shiny, old gold is priceless.
i'm rather impressed you were able to 'force persuade' the opfor into doing what you wanted, and string em along.. i'll be sure to remember this if i ever get into shacktac, and your one of our hostages :P amazing job none the less :D
Man you are good at that "what's wrong with you, it's right there haha" voice. I was starting to doubt my own eyes!
my shocked face when I saw that amazingly glorious instrument of destruction as a thumbnail for one of your videos.
Love how even though it says in the mission notes not to pick up a gun so that they aren't forced to kill him he still constantly goes about trying to get one xD
AWESOME. The best, most intense Dslyecxi video i've seen so far.
yep, was pretty special alright. I felt like he was being minded by a couple of kids though, no offence guys lol
You guys really do some cool missions I can't wait to see what you do with ArmA 3
They're so suspicious of you, but at the same time they keep giving you important information... Leading with that 'no one in the driver's seat' thing was a really good way to show the flavour of this episode.
The more I watch your vids the more I want to try and apply to shacktac keep up the great vids man

"I think it was hidden in a desk or a box or something..." lol great fun to watch, thanks. ;)
Love the RP at the start LMFAO! Then through out I was laughing at how well you talked them into doing what you wanted. Just wish we could have seen it from Enfields view as well.
That was just awesome! The whole thing. I love missions like this. Bravo! Bravo Dslyecxi!
In terms of making this game fun, you could say that they were the best anyone could ask for.
*claps slowly* Goddammit, Dyslexi, you sneaky sonofabitch. Well done.
PS: Thanks for making my day.
When you grabbed that AK thinking no one was looking was great. "Drop it!!"
I've wanted to see something like this from this channel, cool stuff bro.
Definitely one of my favorite type of scenarios you do. You need to be a hostage more often.
It really speaks to the level of quality of the Shack Tac community to have the hostage takers be willing to go along with it just for the sake of fun as opposed to calling Dslyecxi out on his BS. This is why Shack Tac are the best around.
I wish I could like this more than once. This was super entertaining.
That was glorious, they fell right into your hands, awsome vid.
Dude! You should post more vids like this one. it was really funny! Really enjoyable to watch.
you sir, are a god. you win everything ever. i hit that subscribe button so fast, can't wait to watch everything....keep up the brilliant work!
This is the shiznit! Awesome mission and great video! At the start they should have separated you and the other missile guy and interrogated you both to subsequently compare the consistency of your answers.

That was great love these videos. You guys should do some more scenarios like this one.
Hey Dslyecxi keep up the quality videos !!! Love watching all the ShackTac stuff.
It was about 10mins through that i realized that they were just playing along. I was just thinking "these people seriously can't be this dumb." They literally just did what any real person in that situation might do if the outcome was that great. Great story telling, Dslyecxi, you should be an author =P
I love what the mission execution is.
REALLY, really enjoyed it dude, very good content and footage
Man, you are lucky that your playermodel didn´t blush regarding how much you lead them around by the nose!^^
what a great mission. with your persuading and improvising you'd make a hell of a con artist :D
well played sir, well played!
but now of all things i want Enfields perspective, that would have been freaking awesome.
I would like to see Enfield's perspective
Hell yeah.
This was awesome! ^^ Really enjoyed all the mind play.
Dang, nice work! Makes me wonder what Enfield's viewpoint was on the whole thing while you were running around.
Hook, line and sinker.
Well played sir.
During that entire conversation with the insurgent leader I was really hoping you'd finish a sentence with "there! I've run rings around you logically."
I was laughing quite a bit when they were helping you search that big office building when you had said the briefcase was in a shack earlier. :-)
"I dont remember where I put the briefcase exactly, could have been a shack, or a big office building, or an aircraft carrier, lets go look!"
That was heaps good, Come home from work, cbf playing watch this, Grinning like a Cheshire cat, Very well done guys
at first i tought you were goin to betray the other hostages so you get set free but man, this was hilarious, i was laughing all the time... one of the funniest vids so far dsylecxi!
This one was diffrent, and (as usual) I loved it! :)
Oh! I asked that because if this mission were to be played again, the OPFOR people would know that the missile is just a fake toy and cannot be launched nor would there be "launch codes".
But thanks for your poetic answer! Cheers!
I love how they never questioned his logic.
So is roleplaying part of this ARMA gametype?
yep, most likely, is what the spirit of the game is like and also giving you the satisfaction
That *should* be an actual thing. A good side-objective for opfor and blufor: find the codes in a shack.
Damn, Dslyecxi doesn't even need a gun to take out the enemy. Awesome!
"The ruse is over, Dslyecxi"
Oh shit, they know he's bullshitti-
"Where are the codes?"
Oh.
The level of smooth-talking from Dslyecxi: Level: Politician
That was an awesome one! Loved it!
this video is of watching the entire vid! awesome job man, made laugh a lot :)
God, this is so cool. Silly, but fun as hell. I can see why you like ArmA so much, man. ;___;
Rescue missions and Asymmetrical stuff is always cool. Independent / OpFor insurgents always behave with a certain... amount of freedom.
That performance deserves an Oscar.
This could be a really good movie
Some hostages get taken by an amateur group of terrorists.
Unfortunately, one of the hostages is a lawyer.
More of this it is amazing to see you trick other shactac members
Goddammit. It's 3 am and this video comes up. better get the fuckin' popcorn
I don't normally watch vids of people playing online because I don't play online all that much, but fuck was that worth 40 minutes of my time. Need to get involved!
You never cease to amaze me Dslyecxi.

Another brilliant show Dslyecxi! Fun watch, keep it up.
Would have been fun to hear your captors comments after the mission. Anyway awesome mission!
I love the spirit of ShackTac, knowing that you were most likely talking out of your ass, but still have the humor to play along. Serious Fun.
That was incredible
ROFL! Loved that epic bluff. Your straight voice should be considered a weapon of mass destruction. X D
OH MUR GUSH! This is like something out of a movie.
OMG I loved it you guys were great that was awesome!
Can someone explain me why he was rescued by a demon?
The demon of the army had to reveal its true form for the battle.
Awesome dude, 40 minutes of awesome... :)
This was great, you should make more like this.
LMAO!!!! i gotta get in a server one time with you, these video's are fucking hilarious. great stuff sir. great stuff.
Nice how you continue to stay upright making your self as visible as possible. Just hearing you I would call you out immediately.
Thats some proper mind manipulation!
You can fire it but it just goes straight up in the air and kind of disappears. There are mods however that let you use a targeting system with the missile.
This was the most adorable thing ever.
Best episode yet.
Fucking favorite, i was so nervous if you were going to loose them or not. Awesome video as always :D
Haha! Nice one Dslyecxi! Outstanding Job!
Shacktac should direct an action movie using arma, would be amazing.
wow dude, that was an awesome provocation!:D
dude this is so impressive
This is probably the best gaming video I have ever seen , is there a video of Enfields perspective by any chance?
In the first few minutes of this, the movie Spies Like Us came to mind for some reason. ;)
I love hostage stuff. Great video.
Dslyecxi, these are the types of videos I love, when you show your intelligence and charisma over the common man to escape your captors, I may be a bit drunk right now, but I meant every word in that sentence! Or, sentences... Fuck it. I loved the video.
Most hilarious arma action to date.
A good hostage, gives the enemy's advice on hostage taking.
