    I just love these piloting movies. So many show only video's from the point of view from people on the ground. Where i just love flying helicopters myself in Arma and in the Battlefield games. Keep up the great work!

    I love this game. Dslyecxi, your videos are awesome... inspired me to get back into PC gaming after eight years (last time I played OFP). Great work.

    Haha, I love how the mission design seemed to go for revoking a few laughs at times rather than simulate an actual Battlefield :D
    Also: thanks for uploading another transport video, these+command videos are by far my favourite.

    The technique is done by reducing throttle to as little as possible (as to prevent the motor from adding any additional energy to your craft)
    Then pulling back on the stick as hard as you can, UNLESS your altitude starts increasing (then you're pulling too far back)
    Thus, pulling all of the speed out of your flight but you're not climbing either.

  • @supermonkeywtf09
    @supermonkeywtf09 12 років тому

    Thank you very much! I end up gaining altitude so I will follow what you said and monitor how far I pull back.

    I'm a combat veteran from Iraq 07-08 and Afghanistan 10-11 i was a army infantry and from my real life experience this is the most realistic game out there. For those that say c.o.d is more realistic if you haven't been in combat u can't say if a game is realistic or Nat. This game is so real we have a soldier that prepared a real life combat mission brief. He left every nco and oficer in that mission brif room so impressed!!! That they wanted him doing brih in HQ

    If I saw a missle hit you, then that's what I'd have said, I saw no missle and the guy I replied to obviously saw no missle either. I'm no expert at arma2 choppering, much like most viewers, I can't tell which beeping means what in every type of vehicle, but hey, thanks for clearing that up!

    One thing I'd like to see more is some brief info on what went well/wrong. In this match, it would be good to know how so many were slaughtered and what might have been done differently in the future.

    Let me Google that for you:
    Man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS or MPADS) are shoulder-launched surface-to-air missiles (SAMs). They are typically guided weapons and are a threat to low-flying aircraft, especially helicopters.

    Honestly, it's a completely different game from BF3. I've had alot of fun with both, and have found that there are some great aspects in both games that I wish the other had. If nothing else, it's a slower paced game that can be much more rewarding when you achieve success, and I've found alot of little tricks from playing it that have helped me improve my BF3 K/D as well.

  • @FW6002

    Thanks for the great videos!
    I would like to see a mortar section (three or four 81 mm or smaller calibre mortars) and the necessary forward observers being attached to the company HQ under appropriate circumstances. I imagine coordinated artillery support would just add so much more battlefield immersion. Is indirect fire support too difficult to manage?
    Sorry about being off-topic here. I tried to post on the channel comment section, but that didn't seem to work.

  • @RichardSteelUK
    @RichardSteelUK 12 років тому

    Don't go too fast, pull the throttle all the way down and only lift the nose SLIGHTLY. You should aim to be slowing down about 500-800M before your landing and if you overshoot it, do a circle of the LZ to slow down.

  • @supermonkeywtf09

    He IS pulling up, but simultaneously lowering collective. The two when used together like that result in net 0 change in alt., with the desired reduction in air speed. Watch Dslyecxi (LOL just got that now - typing it for the first time.. anyways) "art of flight" series - explains it well

    Normally I would just comment naturally but I would really like if you saw this directly.
    When engaging the BRDM was the gunners Tracers incorrectly displaying from your perspective? Because rounds seemed to be hitting target but tracers were way off. I've noticed this in other armed vehicles/aircraft and wondering if it's the case here.

    Why is flying in formation important? For instance, if Phantom 1 returns to base and loads troops, then waits on the ground for Phantom 2 and 3 to land and load, is that not better than waiting at low speed off the coast of a known enemy position? Basically I am thinking that the friendly airbase is a safer place to be and RTB should be priority, or am I wrong?

    • @TheDiego1255
      @TheDiego1255 8 років тому +3

      The idea of formation flying with multiple transports in one group came out of Vietnam.
      As much as that statement is right, the formation allows multiple aircraft to use door gunners combined firepower to cover each other, as well as multiple aircraft means multiple targets to be divided by the enemies fire power. There is also a command aspect, a formation allows the insert of multiple chalks of an entire platoon at the same time and doesn't leave the troops exposed. This is especially true when you have 32 aircraft or something.
      Also, bush did 9/11 and climate change melts steel beams.
