God damn! That whole time you guys were on the wall I was grinding my teeth at how disorganised some of the players were; leaving the corners open, bunching up, not being on whisper and CRAWLING THROUGH THE HOLE-DEATHTRAP. Grinds my GEARS.
What I meant was, with them being pinned down from the Northern hill, both corners and within the compound, they could have backed off into the deflate and blast a hole into the wall and breach it while the enemy are still covering the small little hole. But still its a game, you win some, you lose some. Great video for us too!
I'm noticing a similar behavior here akin to "the bystander effect" Bystander effect is why you don't say "someone call an ambulance" after a person is injured, because no one will call an ambulance. Instead, you point at a specific individual and order them to call an ambulance, regardless of whether you have authority or not, it'll work better if that one individual is told to make the call. "Someone come cover this corner" at around 18:30-19:00 is apparently a video game military version of that. Not sure what rank you were in the mission, but still. Gotta designate a specific person to do the task or it won't happen. Important in reality, important in a co-op game.
you NEVER call out a specific person unless you are 100% of their status. If he said "K9ration cover that corner" and K9 was dead but Dsly did not know it, then no one would have been covering the corner.
nilloc93 That makes a nice continuation of what I said. Because it is what I meant. I said to point at someone. You can't point in Arma, but you can still order someone you are looking at.
Really enjoy the videos! I'm a newb ArmA player, and I'm really looking forward to your article on alternatives to ShackTac. I'd love to play with good people, but I'm afraid I don't have the time to commit that your level of play requires. I've learned a lot from your posts, Thanks!
Some of your guys dont seem to understand what covering a certain point means.. especially with that wall.. what a death trap, poor guys hehe. Nice upload, keep it goin! ARMA STRONG :D
It seems like "The Trial" of war is intense, but I was fine when I checked my corners with "One of My Turns." In fact, I was "Outside the Wall" with those soldiers, when I pulled out my favorite gun "Vera." A bullet shot through a brick by me, then my buddy got shot through "Another Brick in the Wall." He was just a kid, full of "Young Lust," and I told him not to die. "Don't Leave Me Now," I said, but he didn't listen, and passed on. Now his corpse is "Waiting for the Worms."
just to help those poor chaps under your command.you sometimes issue orders a bit to quietly and cool and then wonder why nobody is following your orders.Obviously you got to be quite somtimes but then you aught to be extra clear.no dissrespect love the vids.
Damn finally i remember to ask you this question dslyecxi! Ive been subbed for almost 3 or 4 months been wondering what are the numbers you guy usual have in your player vs player sessions. Some times it looks like 100 v 100 sometimes much smaller.
i want to keep seeing these videos and probably am going to continue. i just wish the gun noise wasnt so loud *but its guns they are loud* i know i know. i just wanna hear what people are saying without my eardrums exploding x3 still interesting videos
Being on the other side of that wall was fucking terrifying. Not only did we almost lose half our squads to the attack helos, and massive fire from the mountains, once inside the compound with our rag tag team, the amount of grenades you guys threw at us was fucking horrifying. I'm pretty sure I was the guy who got you in the shins the first time you ran past that hole in the wall.
As soon as I saw the title of the vid I thought I'd come in here and lay down a Pink Floyd joke but gladly I'm not the only one who know's some of the greatest music of all "Time".
Damn. My "Mother" always told me not to join the army, that we have to "Bring the Boys Back Home." But when I see you and your squadmates "In the Flesh", crawling through the snow and "The Thin Ice", it shocks me how "Comfortably Numb" you sound in a firefight. I guess with the maps being such big "Empty Spaces", things must get tense. When the gunfire comes to a "Stop", and you wonder can yell "Is There Anybody Out There?" with no response, it must be hard not to "Run Like Hell."
"Hey You", surely the risk would be getting a bullet "In The Flesh?". Well, unless you caught one in the head, then there'd be "Nobody Home". Yep. It'd be "Goodbye Cruel World". But as i'm sure you're aware, "The Show Must Go On".
I would guess since it was a tense situation, he couldn't risk it. I mean, they were charging around that corner at random intervals; couldn't be cause unready to risk losing more men. Just my guess!:)
Any insight as to why the SL has the "genius" idea of abandoning the hill and the base to the Russians and sending his entire force to cover a possible flanking run? I'm not an expert but it seemed kind of silly considering bravo 2 did not even know where they were going, but were (going by their radio chatters) fairly well established on that hill.
Was meant more in a jokey fashion than a genuine proclamation of my units prowess. I have a great respect for ShackTac and what they do. I'm saddened that you would perceive my comments in the way you have.
Well Crysis 2/3,scale of map,1 Km ...MAX Battlefield Scale of map,10 kilometers (thats even too much) Arma 2,Scale of map,164 km2,and lingor island has over 400 Km2 I believe +Massive TONS of all used types of military/civilan vehicles +Like 10/20x more weapon selection then All FPS on market More fun, more enjoyability,More seriouseness GFX are incredible for my taste..
I wonder if they have a world war 1 mod. I know they have a world war 2 mod for this game, but doesn't anyone else think it'd be pretty sweet to fight in the trenches of world war 1?
Have you guys ever done a mission where, like, you don't want anyone to die, like, for real... Like be super realistic and take a lot of time on things, I just wanna see if it's possible...
Realism I suppose. Normal soldiers only recently started getting attachments for their guns in the last 10-20 years because their difficult to make and expensive.
ive been watching your videos for a while, your latest ones seem a lot different, you seem angrier and have less patience, you don't seem like you're having fun
Well converting my own thoughts into written text has never been my strong suit. It was honestly not meant in the way it was perceived. Apologies if it came across that way.
God damn! That whole time you guys were on the wall I was grinding my teeth at how disorganised some of the players were; leaving the corners open, bunching up, not being on whisper and CRAWLING THROUGH THE HOLE-DEATHTRAP.

Dslyecxi, you're the man, because YOU ACTUALLY COMMENT ON YOUR VIDEOS! Why is that so rare on youtube nowadays, i miss 2007 :(

That was super intense at that wall. Awesome stuff yet again!
i will never forget the suspense of knowing you guys were right behind that wall. wonderful mission.
-Zulu
You are awesome for knowing what DF is.
Some of your guys dont seem to understand what covering a certain point means.. especially with that wall.. what a death trap, poor guys hehe.
Nice upload, keep it goin!

I've always wondered, how do you manage the radio channels in a TvT mission?
Damn finally i remember to ask you this question dslyecxi! Ive been subbed for almost 3 or 4 months been wondering what are the numbers you guy usual have in your player vs player sessions.
Some times it looks like 100 v 100 sometimes much smaller.
I've seen this in so many combat videos, so what the heck is that attachment above the barrel behind the front sight, and what does it do?
22:25 "aagh!" damn so epic
Hey mate, probably a common question, but do you use head tracking IR or whatever its called?
Looking forward to more videos Dslyecxi :D!
I was wondering Dslyecxi, what are your Arma video setting?
I agree. It would be an awesome event. No server could handle all of us though and 16AA use a very extensive addon pack
do you guys do squad deathmatches?
in wich small squads need to elimenate eachother in a small section of the (custom) map?
that "ding" @10:19 .... oh god! good old flash point..
Are the missions you guys play ShackTac user created, or do you get them from independent mission makers?
i want to keep seeing these videos and probably am going to continue. i just wish the gun noise wasnt so loud *but its guns they are loud* i know i know. i just wanna hear what people are saying without my eardrums exploding x3 still interesting videos
Thumbs up for how fast Dslyexci talks when he gets amped up.
hey dslyecxi how do you get crosshairs and what mission is that and do you use just jsrs or jsrs ace
I remember Kilroy's video of this mission. Is this the same session as his video? Or a more recent version?
OH MY GOD YOU PLAY DF YOU'RE MY HERO
what map is this??/ also do you have some sort of sound mod?? . some of the pops and explosions sound amazing
On and on we're all just, another brick in the wall!
I've never figured out how to set myself to whisper. how do you do it?
Thank you for keeping this Res ratio :P
What kind of headphones do you use?
Hey Dslyecxi, are you using a sound mod here?
I wouldnt doubt that shacktac would provide a challenge
This map reminds me of "World in Conflict" :)
ooh a new video :D

Supression is a huge factor in ArmA2
just been going through your vids looking for one i may not have watched and then this one pops up
can enemies connect to your radio nets?
nice
When you guys are in this, if you die do you respawn or are you perma dead for that mission
As soon as I saw the title of the vid I thought I'd come in here and lay down a Pink Floyd joke but gladly I'm not the only one who know's some of the greatest music of all "Time".
Woo, player vs player.

those are always good.
This reminded me alot of the Art of War by Sun Tzu of what not to do...
"The Wall" How did they know about the wall in 2012?
Seems like you and I are the only one left here in these comments...
The plan goes out the door on first contact most of the time, but at least I like to keep what I learned in academy at heart in those situations.
"Hey You", surely the risk would be getting a bullet "In The Flesh?". Well, unless you caught one in the head, then there'd be "Nobody Home". Yep. It'd be "Goodbye Cruel World". But as i'm sure you're aware, "The Show Must Go On".
are these custom maps or dlc
at closer inspection i was looking at the flies flying over head, thought they were rendered bullets not the tracers.
Why didnt you order your AT guy to blast a hole in the wall and breach it ASAP than to sit along the wall while the enemy surprises you at corners?
I would guess since it was a tense situation, he couldn't risk it. I mean, they were charging around that corner at random intervals; couldn't be cause unready to risk losing more men. Just my guess!:)
havent you guys done this mission before?
Any insight as to why the SL has the "genius" idea of abandoning the hill and the base to the Russians and sending his entire force to cover a possible flanking run?
I'm not an expert but it seemed kind of silly considering bravo 2 did not even know where they were going, but were (going by their radio chatters) fairly well established on that hill.
how many members does Shack tac has ?
I believe an infrared laser, essentially a laser sight that shows in NV goggles.
is this the same game as chkilroys hill 132 nakagda?
What map is this?
you guys should do some sniper missions. that would be awesome.
Hush, my baby, don't you cry.
its ok. i can understand. i have seen many videos of all kinds of missions. but i have just never seen sniper videos. other than on DayZ.
Was meant more in a jokey fashion than a genuine proclamation of my units prowess. I have a great respect for ShackTac and what they do. I'm saddened that you would perceive my comments in the way you have.
Bobbik is my favorite.
Well
Crysis 2/3,scale of map,1 Km ...MAX
Battlefield Scale of map,10 kilometers (thats even too much)
Arma 2,Scale of map,164 km2,and lingor island has over 400 Km2 I believe
+Massive TONS of all used types of military/civilan vehicles
+Like 10/20x more weapon selection then All FPS on market
More fun,more enjoyability,More seriouseness
GFX are incredible for my taste..
Insert Game of Thrones quote here.
Sorry if I sounded like an ass, but that question along with "What game is this?" seem to be asked at least once every vid.
I ended up playing Pink Floyd as soon as I saw the title
"its all part of the plan."
I wonder if they have a world war 1 mod. I know they have a world war 2 mod for this game, but doesn't anyone else think it'd be pretty sweet to fight in the trenches of world war 1?
Oof. Taking back the base away from the hill seemed a poor decision.
Have you guys ever done a mission where, like, you don't want anyone to die, like, for real... Like be super realistic and take a lot of time on things, I just wanna see if it's possible...
'The Wall' sounds like some shitty movie M. Night Shyamalan would make.
damn rooskies
Hindsight is always 20-20.
Mo to the ron.
13:27 you can SEE THE BULLETS incoming!
"Did... did we just switch spots?" 13:48
Realism I suppose. Normal soldiers only recently started getting attachments for their guns in the last 10-20 years because their difficult to make and expensive.
yeah, I'd understand that... I probably would even get bored of super realism after like 10 minutes...
really wish i could join but not 18 yet :(
We use optics, but rarely magnified optics.
You seemed a bit on edge this video. Not a criticism, you're totally allowed to be on edge, just something that sprung out.
yeah but if you say over 100 people aren't gonna think about numbers above 150
ive been watching your videos for a while, your latest ones seem a lot different, you seem angrier and have less patience, you don't seem like you're having fun
i think they had a rule against that
They arent they are using a shacktac version of ace
Sense, please?
once i read the title it sounded like the russians were invading over the berlin wall
How comes your not helping your casualties?
Well converting my own thoughts into written text has never been my strong suit. It was honestly not meant in the way it was perceived. Apologies if it came across that way.
Couldn't the guy with AT have blown a hole in the wall?
you kinda sound like nathan fillion
300+
squads are split into fireteams
They have 400ish members.
They are using the ACE mod
battlefield, probably, ARMA II? probably not.
really? that's sounds pretty fun to me.
