- Konica Hexanon AR 40mm f 1.8 is great for daylight video. But how does it perform at night? This lens is very characteristic, and may not be for everyone. Lens review from Bergen airport Flesland.
Tiny and affordable manual lens.
Shot mainly at full frame on Panasonic Lumix S5 (a few cropped shots)
HLG color profile. ISO 400-8000
Music from UA-cam library
Your youtube video is better than 90% of Hollywood cinematography.
Thank you for showing thins nice Retrolens
Thank you for doing this test!! Looking forward to building a kit :)
Great! I have it on my Lumix S5II.
Great Video!!! I have buyed a 40 Konica for my Lumix S5IIX.
Wow, that was pretty! Thanks. I got an S5 myself and just ordered this lens. I can’t wait for it to arrive. I was building an FD kit but got sidetracked by Konica lol
Thanks. Collecting FD myself, so the Konica is a sidetrack for me to. Tiny lens, and a little more useful than 50mm.
My favourite manual lens. Equal image quality than a Nokton but 10 less money.
Great lens review and image captures. This lens gives an old skool vintage filmic look in my opinion. Your exterior low light shots look really clear. I happen to create a review of this very lens. Not for sure if you've seen it or not but click the link below. I use this 40mm Konica on my GH4 btw.

Probably skipped it initially. M4/3 makes it an 80mm equivalens. Definitly not camparable. When cropped this much, it certainly starts to get a bit soft
Thank you for doing this test!! Looking forward to building a kit :)
I’m building a complete set of Canon FD lenses myself. But there’s no 40mm alternative in FD. I find 28 and 40 more useful than 35 and 50.
