this is very special,,heartfelt appreciation to AKconcerts, and the wonderful musicians, needless...I have loved this piece since I picked up a Seraphim LP set of Saint Saens way, way back in the 70's. This is music for the world...I would recommend the Gramophone Great Composer on Saint Saens with Stephen Isserlis and Jeremy Nicholas. Illuminating and sane.....what a wonderful composer Saint Saens was...so grateful....The minuet is heavenly

+Laurence James Thank you for your kind comment. :-)
Wonderful composition! The trumpet gives it an extra touch of sparkle.
Demasiado hermoso!!!
He played this on a B-Flat trumpet. The guy just kills me.
I love this piece. It's so light and charming...too bad the audience was coughing every second,
I have an old recording with Harry Glantz on vinyl but this is better.
Compares with Beethoven's 'ghost' trio; and the second movement has the best 'brass band' tune ever -will someone please transpose it!
El Minuet,que minuet!!.-

Last movement is the best but audience coughing is very distracting!
The trumpet went low instead of high at the end. Fantastic until then, I was looking forward to the high note!
That is another septet
