    For those of you who, like me, have just discovered this incredible interpretation of Saint Saëns's technically challenging concerto, it's even easier to understand why Alexander Malofeev is now one of a handful of outstanding pianists who transcend us at every concert. If there is such a thing as a musical god, he is here. Listen and you'll understand why!

    As to the people who gave this a dislike - do they not realise that this sort of ability, drive, determination and passion only happens perhaps once a century? 5 years on from this, we know just how much he has developed both technically (if that were possible) and musically. There will always be people who are both jealous and ignorant, but thankfully, there are plenty of musicians and music lovers who can revel in this lad's commitment, and frankly, mind blowing pianism. My hero has always been Gilels, but Malofeev must surely join the club of all time greats.

      You might be right about his underlying talent. But he was raised as a competition thumper and that's what he is and will remain. He views each moment as another chance to make himself stand out as a thumper, he's never actually tuning in to the music. Everything is to demonstrate his fingers. Gilels was an actual musician. The music breathed through him. Probably if he'd have been raised as a competition thumper he'd have turned into this too.

    This video could not be any more adorable and exciting! From his forgetting to shake the conductor's hand at the beginning and quickly getting up from the bench to do so, to his wiping the sweat from his head (and his hair!) during the pause between movements, to his smiling during the enormous applause and points to the entire orchestra, AND THEN, holding his hand over his heart not only while the audience continued their applause but he kept his hand over his heart while he exited the stage! All this plus his performance was FLAWLESS and beautiful!! And he's 12 yo. Just amazing.

      Obviously, he was one of the great composer's students, and he just remembers everything, anyway he's one of a kind. Most musicians don't need to learn how to read music, they simply know. There was a 16 year old in my class at the Music Conservatory that could sight read everything, Chopin studies were what we asked more, but he didn't want to study music, he was from a family of musicians. 5 years later, he put an end to his life 😢

    • @DovidShaw
      @DovidShaw 4 роки тому +1

      This is why he is so good. If you take A = 1 B = 2....Z = 26 then
      PIANO PRODIGY = 149 = DIMITRIEVITCH (PV)
      DIMITRIEVITCH MALOFEEV = 228 (PV)
      A VIRTUOSO PIANIST = 228 (PV)
      PV means Placement Values and I have added the values of the letter. So PIANO = 16 + 9 + 1 + 14 + 15 = 55 PRODIGY = 16 + 18 + 15 + 4 + 9 + 7 + 25 = 94 so 55 + 94 = 149. I'll let you work out the rest.
      And yes, by using this code and 4 other codes (connected to this code) I can show how dozens of prodigies are connected to their instrument they play. My book Musical Prodigies will soon be out. Probably in under 2 weeks. I can do this with scientist (connecting the name of the scientist to their invention ) with actors (for example DANIEL CRAIG = 83 = JAMES BOND + COWBOY), with artists (LEONARDO = 84 = MONA LISA) sports people, authors and others. So its all in the name!

    • @Gottenhimfella
      @Gottenhimfella 4 роки тому +1

      @@hoofhearted3035 Indeed. You make a very valid point. Furthermore: I happen to know a number of people with the given name James Cameron. None of them have anything in common with each other, or with the famous movie producer whose name they happen to share. One is no longer even the gender s/he was born with.
      Everyone who has lived and had a large social circle will have similar experiences with their group of close acquaintance, but even without that blessing, the notion that every "John Smith" has the same life trajectory, for instance, is frankly fatuous.
      So the predictive power of Jethro's "system" is demonstrably lacking: it works only with the benefit of hindsight. It can tell nothing about a person which the person applying the rule did not know before applying it, otherwise we could tell in advance what every John Smith or Joan Scott would do with their life, and it would be the same story for all of them.

    Вот он - самый красивый самый мощный Романс!
    Со всей страстью Бетховена, с грустью Шопена и горечью Рахманинова.
    Тут и колдовство Прокофьева, и наивность Щедрина, и могущество Мусоргского. Ирония Сибелиуса, чувственность Дебюсси, естество Равеля, находчивость Шнитке, душевность Чайковского. Смелость Мендельсона, бравурность Гершвина, поэзия Малера, стройность Скарлатти и дерзость Паганини. Магия Стравинского, строгость Вагнера, беспокойство Шостаковича и сентиментальность Листа. Гипнотизм Сати, меланхоличность Грига...
    Это музыкальное полотно вбирает в себя соль всех музыкальных творений до и после жизни Сен-Санса.
    Не все сочинения способны предстать цельной песней на одном дыхании. Это такая редкость, что кажется случайностью. Но каждый услышит в ней самого себя. И шедевр этот - общечеловеческое богатство! Вот оно, Реальное чудо!
    И все эти качества имеют подобный эффект благодаря юному пианисту, Саше Малофееву, любовь которого к музыке по-настоящему взаимна!

    This then kid was so far beyond his years in maturity, self-discipline, determination, interpretation, skill, etc., etc., etc. etc. etc. Every kudo was well earned and as he begins to grow into manhood, I really can't imagine the heights he's going to reach. This young man will be writing his own ticket that's for sure.
    And now to the audience. Ya gotta love the Russians who are exceedingly good at recognizing talent. I wager to guess that a huge number of them have had at least some training in at least one of the performing arts and they love to show their appreciation when one of theirs succeeds. It's warming to see how supportive they are of the talent they have come to see and hear.
    P.S. Perhaps I'm off base,; still I have the hope he travels around the world several times over throughout what will be a stellar career, but that he keeps Russia as his home base by choice. A lot of time, effort, expertise, public support and love have undoubtedly been showered on this hard working, talented young man. I think they would be sad to see him leave. I just hope the "atmosphere" makes it possible for him to remain in his richly cultured homeland. He does the Russian people proud as do so many of their artists.

      Frank Lesser, Bill Wileman and Neall Calvert as a classical musician: there’s nothing remarkable about memorizing music. It takes hours and weeks (even months) to learn (new) pieces and prepare them to be performed. In that time (if you study them properly) your brain will be able to memorize it. It’s just apart of the process... musicians don’t pay attention to the ability of memorization, we care about other factors in the playing🙃

As I enjoyed it even more so the chorus to a little ballad I composed in the mid-seventies came to mind: “The children are so beautiful; the earth belongs to those who know the secret of the child-like heart, they are who love the best, they are who love the best.” The prophet Isaiah wrote, “.........and a little child shall lead them.” Well, for me It is apparent that the purity of soul inherent in children, especially those who have an expressively musical gift as this musician, has very ready access to their spiritual psyche and the congruent emerging genius that cultivates and tempers the physical prowess needed to grow and perfect virtuosity and mastery. This young man’s teacher also perceived his innate fearlessness

Now, I have the great good fortune of hearing a 12 year old Master Saint-Saens Piano Concerto No. 2. I am truly amazed at what I am hearing from Alexander Malofeev. I grew up in a house with three tuned pianos, including a Steinway Baby Grand. My late mother taught piano. Not a single bad note was permitted in the house! My late Aunt told me that my mother "went out with Leonard B". I only have 1,000 CD's in my tiny apartment here in Florida. This is so special, I am smiling all the way to the end.
