This shoe is a must pick up. Especially in that colorway
Just got mine today. Knocked out a quick 7 miler and I knew right when I laced them up it was a win. I actually liked the SL1. Not a bad Daily. But this version is a solid contender for trainer of the year. What an improvement from Adidas.
True to size or half size up?
This shoe is a must! I got it and absolutely love it! It may be odd, but it reminds me of the original Novablast with a more snug upper fit. It's got that fun factor where its cushioned and bounces you along, but its also not very stable so you have to mind your foot strike a little more. Honestly, its an enjoyable shoe that I'm really loving to run in.
The Novablast 1 was one of my favorite shoes of all time and it certainly had a little squirreliness in the back end so I can see how the SL2 might evoke some fond memories. I can’t wait to pick up a pair!
And is it not more nimble (less chonky) than even the OG Nova? It certainly looks like it would be.
Novablast 1 is definitely the best running shoe of all time, I bough loads of pairs so I'm never without them , but the first pair are still going well at 1350 miles, I am blown away . Last 40 months I have ran just under 8000 miles , have loads of different makes and NOTHING beats the novablast , they're not even falling to bits yet wtf 👍👍👍@@davebelcher8374
Just got this shoe for $97 out the door. Can't wait to try it tomorrow.
From where?
@Bushidojihi google the shoe name and it should pop up at Dicks. It's still that price I believe.
So certainly it feels like the best alternative to the Pegasus especially for those who think it got too heavy/mushy to be that all-rounder that doesn’t cost a lot to get.
To me Pegasus lies where Ultraboost is: more a comfy casual shoe than a racing shoe.
And I bought a Peg 40 just to walk around.
🤷🏽♂️
Love this shoe. Feels like the takumi without the rods and a little more cushion.
I have SL20. It's hard but it's historical, won't ever throw it away! It was a time I came back to run, when pandemics hit hard Brazil, and I used him and an Ultraboost. Just 4 years ago and how the market changed...
The SL20 was marketed so cheap... with little mkt effort... I had to Google it to some insight... A fast shoe for beginners, something like that.
And look how far the concept got...
Can't avoid having one. And let's agree: a good daily trainer is what we use the most miles/km we run.... so who knows, maybe this is one of those worth spending the app 30% voucher and maaaaybe if I really like it, and get one or two years from know in love with him, have another pair to stock.
Yes I'm hyped with this shoe!
A good description about the new SL 2. Like to Thomas and Robbe. Have a great day.
Got a pair of SL2 from Adidas for $91 (before tax) and they’ll be here tomorrow. Too many good reviews and I’m a sucker for capable daily trainers!
Hey, please give an update to how the shoe feel and perform
Im really intrigued to purchase these, but the tight upper kinda worries me
@@giffarmasabih8108 I’ve only got about 30 miles so far (8 shoe rotation) but they are holding up great! I love that Adizero upper, how it wraps the foot. I like an almost race fit, makes it feel light and nimble. The midsole does not bottom out at all, even the forefoot. The Litestrike Pro top layer was genius to put on the med. soft Litestrike 2.0. It feels like a much more expensive shoe. Outsole is really grippy in a good way.
Mine arrived last night I’ll take it for the first run in a few hours!! Super excited
Just got the SL2 Yesterday in this exact colourway. Already have 21KM on them. Same great responsiveness as the V1 but with more cushion and bounce. Energy return is great and they have a much more daily trainer feel than the Boston 12. More cushion and you can feel the lack of carbon in them, but still propulsive and great at picking up the pace or just cruising. I did get some rear ankle blistering but the lacing and upper is plush. Almost wish they shed a bit of extra weight and just used the upper from the Boston 12 as its much more breathable in hot weather or rain.
Do you prefer the Boston 12's or SL2??
@@MyBoxer96 Personally I prefer more ground feel and a quicker turn over so I would choose the Boston 12. Boston 12 would also be better for long runs and it’s more stable. SL2 is a huge improvement from the previous version, but the Boston 12 is truly a do it all shoe. If you want one shoe in your rotation that can do everything it’s really the Boston 12. But SL 2 would be better at easier paces, and the Adios Pro 3 is really lighter and more propulsive for race day. Adidas line up in 2024 is stacked.
@@Powellcon_ just the comment I was looking for. Never ran in either show, but these seem like the baby Boston 12s. Was going to pull the trigger and just buy the SLs, but I figured I'd do a little more research and wanted to see if it was worth the extra money to just get the Boston's instead. I'm a supinated runner, which means my foot rolls outward instead of inward, causing weight to land on the outside of my foot. So a more "stable" shoe is better for me. Still I have 2 other shows I'm looking at before making my final choice. Which are the novablast 4 and speed 4. But you're comment has helped put things into perspective. Thank you
@@brandongarcia4838 Yeah at a similar price point I'd just grab the Boston 12's. Would prefer to race or daily train in them over the SL 2. I returned the SL 2 and got the Novablast 4, really loving them so far.
Will you be doing Between Two Shoes pitting the SL 2 against other trainers like the Peg 41, Velocity Nitro 3, etc.? Curious to see how it compares to another trainer from Adidas, the Supernova Rise.
Waiting for the wide.. No go for wide feet
This shoe is fantastic. It's definitely one of the best daily trainers out there.
Only downside was the length of the laces. It's too short to tie a runners loop.
Ordered same colorway for $91(adidas had 30% off this weekend)
Would love to hear your thoughts on the comparison between the SL2, Rebel v4, & Mach 6! Between 3 Shoes? :)
Propel V5 too. $119 shoe
i think this will end up being better the rebel v4 because the foams are better
I would be interested in this shoe as a daily trainer, but I got the Rebel v3 and the Novablast 3 late last year.
Clear and concise review. Thanks fellas.
Find it odd when shoes like this get categorised at 'entry level'. I think thats quite misleading. I was watching a video with some adidas sponsored pro runners the other day, and they love this shoe for easy days and when they want to protect their feet a bit more. I dont think its entry level, its just for a different use.
I also think it's called entry level because of the price, it's afforable.
It's funny as I've seen a serious runner do a 1:40ish half marathon in a pair of "entry level" shoes and loved them.
Thanks for mentioning about suitability for wide feet.
Is the Boston 12 wider in the toebox compared to this one?
Definitely
@@femaciel Thanks, I'll stick with the Boston if thats the case.
Love Robbe’s Succesion-style running cap
A Boston 12 without the bells and whistles?
Will this not work for someone with a slightly wider foot?
One of the best-looking shoes in a long time, classic Adidas. Looking forward to trying this one, seems to be budget 'shoe of the year'. 👍
Shoe reviews & dirt track racing tips
Gentlemen, great review. Thank you
How does it compare to the Boston 12?
Following
Anyone have a take on sizing? I went by my typical cm measure but it somehow feels too big. Which is surprising for a shoe known to be narrow
Can you run more than 18 miles per week on this shoe?
What are people saying for the sizing of this? I'm an 8.5 in both the Adios Pro 3 and the Takumi Sen 10, but an 8 in the Boston 12 - should I size up slightly and get the 8.5 if this is quite a narrow shoe?
Normally a size 9 fits me perfectly, the SL2 runs small, a 9.5 fits me here
in my country Boston 12 is the same price of Adizero sl2.
The plan is to use as daily trainner and couple race days. Any reccommendation?
Just bought a pair, turned up today, can’t wait to run in them
Looking for advice from anyone experienced! New runner here (about 14 months averaging 35 miles a week) Coming from a 4-5mm drop, will jumping to a 10mm drop be detrimental used as a daily ish trainer?
I’m so intrigued by this shoe. I love the Boston 12 so I’m wondering if it’s too much overlap
Not at all
Boston is the more tempo shoe where this one is for all the easy miles.
i'm rocking the peg 40 but this seems so tempting.
i just don't get why they don't sell it here in Israel\Middle East yet!
how long would it be worldwide sold?? like is it months now? or weeks?
Replacement laces on the way here so I can get a runners knot in, teeny bit of heel slippage but man it's fun to run in
Same here. Do you size up or go tts?
@@brandondouglas4216 stayed true
Original lightstrike on the sl20 was like concrete
Yeah,I had that shoe and boston 10 with that horrendous original lightstrike. Adidas knows how to make improvements with each iterations

Yes I'm hyped with this shoe!
The rubbing happen for me with the first version I might try the wide version instead Adidas’s fit tight
Wondering how this will stack up against the NB Propel V5?
Could you race a marathon or better for shorter tempo?
So its a Boston without energyrods?
Doesn’t sound like it to me.
Softer, borderline unstable heel, very low toebox in my exp. Fast and fun :)
In the first few frames of the video, Robbie looks like he just got told that Santa Claus isn't real.
I really like the design of the Adidas Adizero sl2. But is it possible to use this model not only for jogging, but as a daily walking shoe? Is this shoe versatile enough in this regard?
Yes
Mono = one and mesh = mesh
36/27 for a 9mm drop per Adidas website
We all know 1mm of foam is all the difference in the world 😂
I hope the 13th version of Boston could inherit the entire heel of SL2 Adidas and lessen the firmness of the Lightstrike Pro 2 or add more cushion on mid to heel section, hence could dethrone Saucony Endorphin Speed 4 and Puma Deviate Nitro 3
Same arch poking as Rebel v3 (I have it and I’m selling it for that), narrow medial platform for wide feet and pronators. Tried SL2 on last sunday and didn’t work for me, bad instability unfortunately
Btw: same problem with any Adidas shoes.. B12, Takumi, AP3
is ur foot above avg width?
@@io-rj6sk yes, slightly
Almost 100k subscribers!!! Far less than what this channel deserves!!!!
So many comments and questions about comparison to the Boston12, but is this by chance a modernized, improved successor to the old but beloved in its day Boston9?
This actually describes it pretty perfectly
not even close. this has way too high stack and the boston 9 had the torsion system . the 9 let you run how you wanted to run, bad form and all. the sl2 is great, but unstable. you have bad form or over pronate the sl2 let's you know it. it is a nerfed boston 12. but that's not a bad thing.
wow im late! wheres everyone buying theres??
Just ran an easy 5k in it. The review was spot on. I have a slight wide right foot so a bit of a snug. For $95 bucks, its an overall great shoe!
Will there be a Adidas Supernova Prima review? Seems like there isnt much info out there on it
We just got a pair into the office
@@Believeintherun Awesome! Keen to hear your thoughts
Love your work!
Thinking about durability. Rebel v4 or SL2?
Comparable
@@Believeintherun thanks.
Really good review and especially thank you for also specifying the types of runners that would not get on with this shoe. I want to love adidas but totally crap they make shoes so narrow. I did 600k in the SL20 as it molded to my wide foot better than any of the other adizero. I felt like cinderella trying on the beautiful fiery orange OG colorway of the Adizero Adios 1 and gave up on the line after that
Better rhan the boston 12?
All you guys picking it up for $90odd 😭😭😭. Im in South Africa and the SL2 is going for $137 from Adidas.
Has it been released yet in the shops locally? Or only online order?
What's your thoughts on the boston 12 vs SL2?
eles são macios???
Typical adidas fashion. These are already on sale for $91 with promo code on the U.S. site.
Come on, no wide?
First
Nah you’re 3rd
Adi Das : German version
Adidas
Old backdrop was better
First!!
Stop this pls misleading
That's an awful looking shoe.
These trainers look horrid 🤢
For every 100 people loving how it looks, there’s always going to be one who hates it 😂 Taste is an individual preference.
@@levandmarthapolyakin-aaron2183 agree, individual preference 😁
