    I'm going with the SL2 for my interval training. I like to not rely too much on rods/plates during training as I do feel that nice difference on race day with my carbon plated shoes.

    I really love the B12 however for someone reason I keep reaching for the SL2 for easy runs. The B12 are great for long runs and pushing the pace.

    I used to come back from running with ankle pain, knee pain and hip pain. 5km is max for me on a good day. But I stopped enjoying it. Started again after seeing the SL2 comments and really having fun running in this shoe! (I'd get a1/2 size up next time ).

    Great comparison. Is there any chance of comparing the SL 2 to the Adios 8? There’s been a lot of discussion on UA-cam about the Adidas line up and possible Adidas shoe rotations, but the poor old Adios 8 never gets a mention.

    I'm nearing 200K on my Boston 12 and it feels brand new in terms of midsole and outsole. I feel like SL2 and Boston overlap too much for me and I'm waiting for Adios 9 to release so I can have an even lighter and leaner training shoe.

    Sl2 ran short for me. My first pair of Boston 12 is getting on and found another pair for a good deal so I guess it's a big vote of confidence going for them again. I personally don't think there is a better daily trainer.
    Probably going to buy Sl2 again but can't quite decide whether to go up 1/2 or full size. Toe was touching end for US 11, which is same size I have in Boston 12 and ts8 and Prime X Strung 🤔

    • @BrandonDouglas-h9e
      @BrandonDouglas-h9e 7 місяців тому

      Did you decide? Ive been looking at the JP measure when comparing as they use cm. I run US 12 for most every shoe at 30cm and the SL2 is a wild 1.2 cm shorter. Its almost a size and a half small! Which I've never seen before.

    I really wish I didn't have a wider, higher volume foot because I found the SL2 to be a better feel than the Boston 12 was for me at the store. I do not like the Boston 12 even if it's bouncy, the firmness of the ride can be felt between mid to heel which can cause pain to the foot arch. Then the heel counter is stiff, and heel collar could not properly support the heel. Possible Adidas SL2 is the best choice for this blog.

I don’t like being in it over an hour then prefer softer shoes. My tempo daily shoes are Boston 12 if picking up pace at all. My race day shoe is adios pro 3 …. So maybe that is why I like .

    Boston 12 drop = 7 mm
    SL 2 drop = 9 mm
    Just started to run in the Boston 12, only 20 km on it so far. Female, Asian, a bit less than 50 kg, but I don't feel the Boston 12 is stiff though (I did hear some female runners said it's kinds stiff to them). Cos the STIFFEST shoes to me so far is the Saucony Ride 15 😂 Gave me some ankle pain after the first 2 runs. Midsole only softened up after 50 km or so. Many said Saucony Triumph 20 is soft. I didn't find it soft though but not stiff either, just FIRM. And I find Boston 12 actually a softer shoe if compare to those 2 🤣
    Currently in a dilemma. A local sports shop is selling the Boston 12 with a discounted price that's the SAME with the SL2!😂 But I lack a NON-plated shoes though. A few shoes on rotation but all with TPU / nylon plate (I can't really run on carbon-plated shoes except for Puma Deviate Nitro 2 which has a softer composite plate). Despite my light (?) weight, somehow I tend to pound on the road hard (same as Matt?😊) . So I realised with nylon-plated shoes, I felt MORE protection on my feet especially after the 7 km mark, at least I don't feel like I'm pounding directly onto the road which will then make every step kinda painful (luckily so far I'm just a 10k runner).

      @theghostofpcs2391 7 місяців тому +3

      I don't know if this maybe be an inconsistency between pairs, but my Boston 12 was extremely firm and rigid out of the box. Literally felt like running with a brick strapped to my feet. People recommended I walked around in it (because it breaks in after around 40-50 K), but even that was extremely uncomfortable. Aggravated both an old knee injury, and my back on the first run. My perceived effort was through the roof... Now that it's broken in, it really sings on hill reps, but I really don't like it much for anything else. Too clunky for easy runs, and I have other shoes that do almost everything else better. But I do like the feel of Lightstrike Pro, so I just did my first run in the Adios Pro 3 this morning. That shoe felt comfortable right out of the box, and kept my heart rate lower. It even handles easy pace so much better than the Boston 12.

I bought it from the same shop I mentioned above (that time it was only 12% off), so I actually get to try the shoes b4 buying. I run VERY SLOOOOOWWW but I don't feel it's clunky at all.
      I won't buy any top-tier racing / carbon-plated shoes anymore. I've tried the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite OG & even Nike Vaporfly 2 (a birthday gift from my elder sis) & somehow they caused me pain at some WEIRD spots...😅
