I want to know about durability of sl 2 i have used sl 1 and they are really durable i used them for 1.5 years So the adizero sl 2 is also durable as sl 1 Please reply
I like from the start you said go buy these, no beating around the bush 🤣🤣. Just ordered mines in the black it's selling out fast!, very happy that I got it on discount. From all the reviews and the way it looks I believe I'll love it, one thing although their laces aren't special i don't have a problem with them untying in other shoes. 👍🏾
Love your work. One thing to note about the SL2 is that the sockliner is glued in so not easily removable. An orthotic (at least my orthotic) won’t fit in the shoe. Ripping it out means buying the shoe while not knowing if it will accommodate your orthotic.
@@terrybourke1253 i removed my sockliner in the mizuno flash 2, it's was not easy, but it worked. Just bought the sl2 and gonna do the same. Shout out from brazil
Mine arrived yesterday ( went for the denim blue colourway which remind me of my first pair of adidas running shoes from 40 years ago!!) First run this morning and from first few steps WOW!!! Big smile on my face all the way round. Fantastic adidas 👏👏👏 Oh just one thing Fordy I have average width foot but went half size up and they fit perfect so not TTS for me. 👍
None available in my size on SF, have just ordered at full price from the Adidas UK site and they also recommended 1/2 a size up, thanks for the confirmation @ian
I bought them half a size up, but for some weird reason they are still too short for me. Adidas SL2 in size EU 42 2/3 is definetely shorter than Puma Velocity Nitro 3 in EU size 42. Looking on shoes size chart online for Puma and Adidas shoes, this is confirmed: EU 42 size for Puma is 27 cm in length, while EU 42 2/3 size for Adidas is 26,3 cm. I really don't know how Adidas can be considered TTS.
I agree with what you said. I got my pair and immediately thought they would pair well with my Boston 12’s and Pro 3’s. Not sure about you, but they reminded me a little of the original Novablast. It’s got that special sauce, but with its narrow heel it’s got a little bit of that insanity the original Novablast had, but much lighter and livelier.
Yesterday they arrived and today I ran my first 10km and I loved. Great shoe, way too good for the price (100 USD cause adidas website had 20% off). Greetings from Ho Chi Minh city Vietnam.
I’ve just ordered some of these to replace my Novablast, absolutely loved the Novablast 2 but didn’t like 3 as much so wanted to try something else. Kept going back to Novablast 2 even though it’s falling to pieces! Really looking forward to trying them.
I’m a years and years fan of Nike’s Pegasus but seeing how they constantly add weight I just don’t think I like that direction anymore. I have the 40 now but the next daily trainer might be the SL2 🎉
Could do with being slightly wider for my wide(ish) feet. Hoping maybe a wide version will come as they do in some other Adidas. Everything else about them I love.
These are on sale already on the U.S. Adidas site. You can get them for $91 with a promo code. Can't beat Adidas's sales right after launch 🤣. Had to get me a pair at that price.
Are these shoes narrow? When you reviewed the Puma Velocity Nitro 3 you warned us that they were narrow, and so I ordered the wide version, which fits to me perfectly. Your suggestion was spot-on! If these Adidas SL2 are narrow like their Puma rival, I would definitely need to look for a wide version (but it appears that there are none) or maybe for a size-up?
Great video Chris, not that I need another pair of shoes but these will certainly be on the list, sounds like an adidas shoe that will finally work for me!
Hey man Thanks for the review I've been running in the asics noosa tri 15. Been wanting to switch to adidas and the boston 12 caught my attention. But since sl2 was introduced, i thought of holding out for this. I only do daily, tempo, speed and 5k and 10k races.
How's the heel collar and padding of this shoe compared to Boston 12? I find that part in AB12 stiff, thin collar, and rigid which can literally cause bruise to the back heel.
How do you feel about it's narrower fit? Also do you find them sort of unstable? There are guys that love the shoe who said those things can be a deal-breaker for some of us.
It's food for thought, but I shall wait a few wks. more when the Brooks Hyperion 2 come out to see how they compare. The Hyperion 2 will be different than the Hyperion 1 with increased stack height and an upgraded more responsive midsole. Plus, it's almost 2oz. lighter than the Adidas SL2 with a wider toebox. It's probably firmer, too, for us bigger guys like myself who like less squash. I already have the Boston 12, and the ratio between soft and firm is perfect for me. I don't like anything any softer.
@FordyRuns I have the Max 1 and love them so much, I picked up a second pair for 35% off. It doesn't need a plate or higher stack height. It's already a great shoe just the way it is. I don't want it to lose any of its ground feel and feel less natural. Plus, the Max 2 went up a whole 2oz. in weight. Ouch!
Chris I was (am) thinking of adding the supernova rise to my shoe rotation with the winter months in mind, how does the SL2 compare to the supernova rise
For the slower runs I believe SL2 is a lot better than Deviate Nitro 2 but for the faster ones, Nitro 2 is bouncier. I have both and absolutely love them. For the long run I used Novablast 3.
Thank you I Love the video but I'm so impressed with these absolutely my favourite ever daily running shoe I liked them that much I went and bought another pair both in the same colour as on you video bought from ASOS first order 10% off bought today with a email promotion from ASOS with 20% off £88.00 and free postage
Adidas were shoes not on my radar for some time, no idea why they just weren't until I was persuaded to try a pair of Boston 12's by a friend, loved them, then I tried pro3 and loved them, then Prime Strung 2, Think i love them LOL. I picked up a pair of supernova prima, mainly because i like the colour LOL.... and as you were surprised by the SL2 I am super surprised by the Prima and guess what!! they have amazing laces, fab gusseted tongue, upper is really nice and its soft but not to soft, has a pop and a great roll off the toe. Oh and also picked up a second pair of Boston 12 in the colourway you have in SL2, again just for the colour, yep I'm such a girl. ADIDAS are my new fave shoes, they just seem to suit my gait and foot shape.
Hi Fordy i find Adidas sizing very weird in every other shoe im either a seven and a half or eight but in Adidas i have to order a nine so unless youve got very narrow feet i find them being true to size very surprising. Be interesting to hear other people's opinions on this.
Im the same as you mate... Fine in Soucony nike puma in a 9... Struggle with Addidas... I got the sl2 this week in a 9 found them to tight on foot... Will send back and get a 9.5.. So if your like me would go half up 👍
@@benrosser893 if you check the Adidas size chart it's quite clear that my size seven and a half in a Saucony is way smaller in a Adidas and all other brands Adidas come up smaller to me that's not true to size.
I'm 11.5 US in Nike, Saucony and New Balance, but in the Adidas adizero like Boston 12 I go down to 11US. This sl 2 is probably the same size as the Boston 12 except the extra padding makes it feel tight. Probably after a few extra runs it will be looser, but it is on the limit for me, even with thin socks.
Great video as always Fordy. Would you recommend these for someone looking for a speed/tempo workout shoe as well as for tempo long runs? I was looking at the endorphin speed 4s and now I’ve seen this I’m not sure.
It's $129.99in the states. I know a few D1 College athletes that use them as trainers. They're better than the Nike Pegasus and are a solid daily work horse!
I've been struggling with adidas since say, the adizero adios 7 and everything after that in the adizero line. Sorry adidas but I don't have triangular, pointy feet. Then the foam around the ankle integrated inside like that of the Boston 12 is not ergonomic for everyone. Because of that, my heel was slipping, very poor heel support. I wanted to give an Adizero a chance, it was a failure. I haven't tested the Supernova models yet but I would like to be able to appreciate this SL2. I really liked Adidas, the Adios Boost 3 was my best of all the shoes I tried.
