Every time there's the announcement that a 70's actor/tv personality has passed away it feels like they must be the last one from my childhood, this proves to be the antidote to all those announcements.

The only reason these 2 are in this as they need medical assistance as both were piss heads O'Sullivan ended up having a massive stroke and yarwood was found out by the television companies he wasn't an impressionist and got no work. He went off his head with depression and anxiety . Both are multi millionaires so they can afford to live there

I remember when I went to OZ back in the 80s, two Aussies on the campsite had their Holden battery wired up to a television (and fridge) so they could watch ' Bless This House' while downing some beers.
Bloody great characters those two and it was such a great time to be there. They knew more about British comedy shows than I did.

It's ironic because, like "Till Death Us Do Part", "Love Thy Neighbour" was supposed to be taking the Mickey out of racist attitudes. Jack Smethhurst's career was ruined by it as casting directors were afraid of hiring him because of the criticism of his character in it.

Sitting with the family watching everything in black and white, happy 😊 times. When we had nothing, we had each other, those days were so much better than today. Such a contrast in how we watched these stars then; which was usually once a week at the same time/place on the dial. Whereas now it’s any time of our choosing in a box set/ or media series/clip. Apart from the odd supplement/pull-out article in Radio or TV times, we weren’t force fed their private lives, and they were entertainers through and through. Part 2 right after the commercial break, can’t wait!

As a young person in my 20s, I’m glad to say that I do NOT relate to any of the woke nonsense and politically correct “comedy shows” of today. Since I’ve lived in England, I’ve been going through the back catalogue of 70s comedies and I love all of them. Everybody was a target for jokes - black, white, English, Scottish, Irish, German, Indian, Pakistani - it didn’t matter. Everyone laughed at each other. In fact we have become less tolerant now than ever before. That’s not progress. That’s some kind of regressive evolution. And these comedy stars here should be cherished forever and never forgotten about. They have given us some of the best laughs we’ve ever and continue to in a now very dark and depressing world.

Mike Yarwood was huge in the 70s. I saw him live in Bournemouth in 1978. Top drawer entertainment from a bygone era. And Stanley Baxter did one mega show a year at his height which was like a Hollywood spectacular.
And sorry, but Max Boyce is as funny as a fire in an orphanage.
