I never realized how dear to my heart Alice Tinker in particular had become, and of course the actress who brought her to such beautiful life. it's nice to see so many of you also still laughing along, and remembering.
How heartbreaking that, apart from Dawn French and James Fleet, all these comedy legends are sadly no longer with us. Thankfully, they (and the laughs they gave us) all live on through this classic series. ❤❤❤
I don’t think we’ll ever see actors of this quality again. The new ‘talent’ coming up just don’t have ‘it’, and ‘it’ isn’t something you can learn, ‘it’ has to be a part of you to make ‘it’ work. In my opinion, anyway.
Had the VHS boxset of this series as a kid in the 90s and wore it out rewatching it over and over. Desperately sad that almost all of them are no longer with us 😢
One of the finest comedy shows ever produced. Every cast member was utterly brilliant and sadly, for nearly all, we can add sorely missed as well. Dawn French was magnificent and is still a very pretty woman
MeeEee 🙏 TooOoo As for me, I'd soOoo appreciate a genuinely, very realistic, down to earth, humble Vicar liken to Geraldine (Gerry) Grainger &/or (Dawn French). And, yes like countless respected Others throughout the World who grew to absolutely, Cherish & Value the Wonderful & very Precious & Delightful Alice Tinker (Emma Chambers) & hear of her passing away, (too young), was a significant shock & loss on many levels. In conclusion, I also enjoyed Emma Chambers excellent contribution to the Romantic Comedy 1999 Movie: "Notting Hill", as I am confident I'm not alone in my valuing & appreciated her role as Hugh Grant's younger Sister: "Honey".
The admission to heaven according to the joke Saint Peter asked the question to get through the gate, What is the name of God's son? The blonde responded " oh it's Andy"; "Andy?" Yes , you know " Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me,, Andy tells me I am his own"
LIVE: The Vicar of Dibley - Best of Series 1 LIVESTREAM! | BBC Comedy Greats 2352pm 23.11.23 anyone recall the young ones episode when she, proto vicar of Dibley, turned up uninvited at a student party and tried to instigate a communal religious revival meeting after barging into the home, kneeing rik in the balls, and expounding upon her beliefs to anyone not listening... and one of the very bored 4 horsemen of the apocalypse threw his British Rail sandwich away and it fell to earth and landed on her... the guys used the sandwich as an outre sofa. p.s I've go the point now where explaining away young ones scenes is now far more amusing than watching the show...

LOL.
Everyone I ask states their favorite episode is the animal service one but mine was always the stained glass window replacement. I found it very moving.
Definitely. Our village church has a clear glass window above the altar too and there is a tree you can see which of course changes with the seasons. Perfect.
Dear Lady C, you and others have mentioned how much Thomas Markle supported Rachel Meghan financially. What I do not understand is why did he not support Samantha financially, perhaps she did not ask. Afterall, didn't Samantha give up her daughter, Ashleigh, to her own parents for them to raise the daughter because she felt financially strapped. This situation has confused me. Do you know why this difference in treatment of his daughters occurred?
Particular the old lady is talking to go to the head in 7:48. I thought it was a seaman slang... HAD she served aboard war ships, or its really just an old word?
Him Jim Nonono no - whom is an excellent singer with a good voice... Its not a gimmick. I know about a severe stutterer, whom do sings well... He is said to making improvised and very popular small concertos of drinking songs, if a suitable occasion arises.

I came late to the Vicar of Dibley and foundAlice Tinker just wonderful. To find out later she passed away was a punch in the gut.
@@jenn976 Yes , it was very sad . Thank goodness we have this show and others to remember her by . Alice Tinker will always be my favorite .
She and her character were the most adorable entities.
I felt sad when she died. I always think of her doing the "I can't believe it's butter" bit.❤
Alice won our hearts - all of us....always
No, no, no, no, no .... YES!!!
VoD is my boxing day into new year's day binge watching tradition. I love every single character. May the greats rest in peace.
truly miss this show.!

Yes! I LOVE British comedy!! More please 🥰
Had the VHS boxset of this series as a kid in the 90s and wore it out rewatching it over and over. Desperately sad that almost all of them are no longer with us 😢
Christmas lunch the best episode... when she arrives at home with a tractor 😂.
My favorite episode is Alice's wedding when she has the flashing wedding dress.
My SURNAME WAS DIBLEY - Proud of that & loved the series
One of the finest comedy shows ever produced. Every cast member was utterly brilliant and sadly, for nearly all, we can add sorely missed as well. Dawn French was magnificent and is still a very pretty woman
Correct, she’s such a Beauty that she was in a Portrait, hanging in Hogwarts no less!
No no no no no yes 😂😂😂

This show & Are You Being Served & Father Ted are the best of British humor. I just love them, I’ve watched them over & over.

I’ve been watching for years and always laugh hysterically….. love them all. ❤
this is one of my favorites
Wonder show. Enjoying from American.
I just LOVE that series….
A Vicar of Dibley reboot please....😊
Most the cast are dead 😢 wouldn’t be the same
nice idea, but I too feel that without Alice, Mrs. Cropley, & most of the cast, due to their passing, it'd be hard to capture it all anew.
Yes wouldn't be the same only herself and Hugo left I believe it wouldn't be the same Jim was favourite loved his character 😂😂😂
Bald-man has a roofless, sloped tin car! 🎉😂
They tried that with Are You Being Served...fell like a lead balloon.
Thank you always brilliant
I love watching this show.
So good wholesome good work BBC
NoNoNoNoNo. Yes. Jim.
I worked for the company that made her vicar outfits.
The admission to heaven according to the joke
Saint Peter asked the question to get through the gate,
What is the name of God's son?
The blonde responded " oh it's Andy";
"Andy?"
Yes , you know
" Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me,, Andy tells me I am his own"
I have never been tempted before, but after watching these highlights I realize what I have been missing. Mom and Dad were right.

Pity the lighting is so poor. Why are the indoor shots as though in twilight ?
Ever been In a century old English house ?
Classic comedy. I do an impression of Jim on my channel.

Unbearable YT ads every couple of minutes, unwatchable.
dude we have the technology! Using the internet without anti virus and anti ad is like diving headfirst into a cesspit
@@tenpoll Unfortunately YT detects my ad blocker and slaps a block on the video unless I disable it.

I wanted e Swedish text
@4:54 Why is there laughter, is it wrongly placed canned laughter or is it a funny joke I missed when the congregation replied with "Amen"?
Why
Mocking the Lord.. not good
It's disgusting, blasphemous
