Many thanks for watching!
Starting with Ronnie Corbett in early 2016, the last seven years has been like watching my childhood memories disappear in front of me.😟
Its like someone is raping my favourite years.
Agreed ✌️
When viewing the memories of my childhood in England from here in the United States, there appears to be almost nothing I can relate to. Saddest thing evermore. 😪.
i said to my son not long back, How do you know when you're getting old. ANSWER your favourite childhood actors pop stars and sport stars start popping off
That's old age for you, all part of life.
Lovely tribute. I watch almost all British TV shows via Britbox here in America. I discovered Paul O'Grady two years ago from his show about dogs from Battersea Dog and Cat Home and instantly fell in love with him. I was incredibly gutted by his passing, His like is rare indeed. He spent his life helping people and animals.
A wonderful man indeed.
If you havent seen it a sci fi series called red dwarf is really funny
Very sad seeing so many of my childhood heroes passing - saddest about Paul O'Grady though - his love and concern for the well-being of innocent animals was an inspiration to anyone with a heart 😻😻🐺🐺
It is so scary. When a kid you grow up with these actors on your TV set & suddenly they are old and pass away! Life is very short. 😢
Yes agree!
Amen.... where are they now?? blessings... :) Think Yeshua... take care
So much so when they pass in their 50's .
I found Michael Gambon when he starred in an English-language version of Maigret. He is such a treat to watch.
It was The Cook The Thief His Wife Her Lover and The Singing Detective for me
Yes, for me he is the definitive Maigret.
Bloody hell! I never knew we lost that many! Brigitte Forsyth was a shocker.
Yes .
She was great in whatever happened to the likely lads . So young back then ,and that's how I remember her , when we see them a lot older it's hard to grasp ,but then I realise I was only a young boy then and now 62 myself.
Time is a flyer that's for sure
I was shocked at Angela Thorne and Sylvia Syms.
There's no need to swear.
@@thadtuiol1717 I hope that's sarcasm
@@thadtuiol1717 Get over yourself, our language is based upon swearing and profanity.
Nice tribute, RIP to all gone but not forgotten
Here in the US, I recognize some of these actors, but most of all, David McCallum. Loved him in The Man from UNCLE and NCIS. Ducky was the best character in that show
Didn't one character ask Gibbs what Ducky looked like when he was young and Gibbs replied "Illya Kuryakin" with a sly grin?
Yes, and I laughed my a** off.
Man from uncle....was that invisible man?????
I don't remembering seeing him in the programe @@michelledrew4688
😉😆
@@michelledrew4688 No. His MFU character name was Illya Kuryakin.
I hadn't realised just how many of our film and TV favourites had passed away in the past 12 months.
Thanks for invoking some lovely memories.
I didn’t either. There are so many that I really enjoyed watching, through many years.
I was fine until Paul O'Grady appeared and then I lost it. I cannot explain why his death hit me so hard but it certainly did. You have produced a very good tribute piece to all these talented performers and I thank you for it.❤
Paul was unapologetic and sincere.
He's having a lorra laughs with Cilla now; they were very close
Paul was a good man. I judge people on how they are with animals. This guy was a legend.
Same. x
@@Richard-fv7rqLove your comment! I said to myself, since I was a young kid, "if someone doesn't love animals, I won't like them", and it stayed with me...forever. x
We lost the best when we Lost Paul O’Grady 😢😢😢
This is an excellent ‘in memoriam’ video to those that have sadly passed. The presentation and narration is perfect, a very fine tribute. Thank you for taking the time to make this tribute and sharing. All the very best to you and yours.
Many thanks John.
Stu always sets the right tone for the videos.
Agree.
Sylvia Syms was beautiful.
Mike Yarwood was massive back in the 70's and early 80's...big viewing figures with his impressions!
Always so respectfully presented. It was a very fitting tribute to the many lost stars of 2023.
Thank you.
Thanks for that Stu. 😊 Some of those deaths I had actually not heard about…incredibly sad but for the most part -they made old bones and they are remembered very very fondly. That’s the most anyone can hope for in the end I think. Thanks again.
I never realised so many people from showbusiness died, when people you watched as a child die, it makes you feel your age.
To me Michael Parkinson dying was very sad I went to some of his shows at the BBC . He was the best talk show host on television. Rest in peace.
only just found that out watching this videoi knew paul agrady had passed as i watched his show
the love of dogs may they alll THEM ALL REST IN PEACE
i have had to deal with loss my self over the last 2 years or so its not easy (my MAM march 2022 aged 68 and my stepdad PAUL july 2023 aged 64
(MAM AND PAUL MISS YOU BOTH DEARLY EVERY SINGLE DAY NOW YOU BACK TOGETHER YOU BOTH HAVE INTERAL PEACE
REST IN PEACE LOVE UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN GOODNIGHT GODBLESS XXX)
Paul O'Grady was brilliant with animals, very caring. Was it Ghandi who said a man should be judged by how he is with animals. So true.
No, it was Gandhi.
@@ripdbtpoo1441 typo clever clogs
Yes but many of those obnoxious, snappy little turd excreting horrors, do require a daily swift kick up the petunia, if for no other reason but to keep your "hand in". Or foot, whichever might be the case.
Adolf Hitler was a dog lover...
@@Richard-fv7rq No, it wasn't. And you may call me clever as much as you wish. I don't know where the clogs come in (bet you wish you could tell me !).
Dale Meeks was a friend of mine and this brought the sadness of his passing back to me. Will never be forgotten ❤
And the new year starts off with another loss, Glynis Johns (1923-2024).
Deep down I'd think Glenda would of hated Tony Blair ,and his new labour she was a very caring person ,all things considered 😢
Beautifully presented, thanks for sharing this respectful tribute.
Thank you
What a brilliant presentation.
Thank you for this tribute!
The older one gets, the more people vanish into thin air.
May they all R.I.P.
The older one gets the more you want to leave this mortal.coil.

Sad but very true. At least for most people.
I've lost 6 of my friends over the last 2 years and I'm getting pretty f-cking sick of it ♠️
Very nicely done, although I personally wish you’d included Benjamin Zephaniah. Although primarily known as a poet he was an actor having appeared in Peaky Blinders. Paul O’Grady and Len Goodman broke me though. Both lost too soon, especially Paul who could and should have had at least another 20 years left.
I watched a similar video about American stars we lost last year and yours was a million times better and more respectful. Thank you x
❤
Len Goodman was a shock! Always liked him in Dancing With the Stars
It is so sad to think that all those stars had passed away in 2023. I can remember quite a few. Was so sad when John motson passed away, he was one of the best football commentators we ever had. RIP to all those stars that sadly passed away in 2023
Very well presented - both sympathetic and professional. Brought back many happy memories of those programmes. Thanks Stu and happy new year.
Many thanks. Much appreciated.
Not something I would usually say I am looking forward too but you are so calm and respectful I am with this, sad as it may be.
A sad walk down memory lane. Many fine British stars remembered.
Makes you think. Don't it?
A very sad but respectful tribute to so many , who were fondly remembered as part of our growing up years.
Some really memorable people going last year. Ones that I grew up with. Micael Parkinson. David McCallum. Lilly Savage. Glenda Jackson hit hard. She was such a consummate actress. I know we all have to go but always sad to hear of their passing. Normally I don't recognise a lot of the people shown on the screen as passing but I knew a lot of these actors. RIP all of them. Thanks for sharing.
So sad that the enterta inment industry should have to lose some of the best 9:27 9:27
At 66 it makes me aware of how short life is at 18 I thought it would last forever..
RIP and bless all of these lovely souls. I am particularly devastated at the passing of Tom Wilkinson. He was so brilliant in every role, and my absolute favorite actor. A once in a generation extraordinary talent.
I was very saddened to learn of the death of Michael Parkinson. I remember the interviews he conducted with Robin Williams...sheer chaos, with an eccentric flair only Robin could provide. They seemed to play off each other so well with Michaels probing questions leading Robin to showcase his fine improvisational skills. Michael Parkinson was an exceptional gentleman.
Many many greats but no mention for than fine Australian Barry humphries
May all these beautiful people RIP, they brought so many joyful memories to many….💐
Thank you. As so many died relatively young, it would be of interest to mention the cause of death.
Paul o Grady was a very gentile man unlike his alter ego LILY savage his love foranimals endeared him to many more fans I personally loved him as Paul o Grady
What a beautiful tribute. Shocked by some we have lost.
my elderly mum was in bits when paul o grady passed well put tribute 😢😢
Thank you.
Oh mate, that was tough one...
Thank you for such a measured and respectful tribute. 👏❤️👍
Many thanks.
Nice to see you got Dr Who actor Richard Franklin in. I knew him briefly in the early 1980's and when he went to London for his cameo in The Five Doctors (1983) he kindly took an autograph book for me. In one fell swoop, I got Jon Pertwee, Patrick Troughton, Peter Davison, Anthony Ainley (the Master), Nicholas Courtney (Brigadier), Elizabeth Sladen, Carol Anne Ford (Susan) & Janet Fielding (Tegan).RIP Richard.
Wow, that's fantastic.
A brilliant, and very well made tribute to those on stage and screen, who sadly passed in 2023.
Thank you.
It’s the best I’ve seen,and such a nice voice,too.
@@eh-i1841 Many thanks
Thank you for putting this tribute together.
Thank you for this tribute stu, all sadly missed.
I was shocked about Haydn Gwynn, she was also in Peak Practice [ as was Sylvia Simms as Isabel deGines in the earlier seasons ] as Dr Joanna Graham for 2 seasons, I also remember Bridget [ Forsyth ] being in Playing the Field too. We lost so many talented people may they all RIP :(
PS You forgot Annabeth Giles whom also died this year of a Brain Tumour at 64 she was.
Geat tribute and the narrator was spot on. So good not to hear the robotic dull tones of AI
How true.
Sad times. Thanks for this very respectful tribute.

More and more of the familiar faces from the TV shows of my childhood are passing away.... I feel old.
I know where you are coming from.
Ias realy gutted when Paul o,grade passed.
He had such a big Big heart for all
Animals.
He is so missed
I never got bored listening to is chit chat.😢😢😢😢😢
Loved Tom Wilkinson SHOCKED LOVED HIM IN THE BEST MARIGOLD HOTEL XXXXX
Who actually believed that David McCallum would keep going forever?
It's so full of nostalgia and flashbacks to endless hours of entertainment, laughter and joy that all these stars gave us over the years. I'm filled with sadness of the happy kind and most of you will know what I mean. When we watch something like this, we think of our own time here on earth and all the wonderful experiences as well as the tragedies and anxieties that we must all face. But one thing I believe with as much conviction as anyone can possible have, is that there is never an "end". It is just a doorway to the next thing - whatever it may be. Our memories, experiences, pains, loves, thoughts and actions are all perfectly preserved in the eternal library of consciousness. There are no whys or hows in the infinite - just more additions to the endless circle of life. May they all rest in peace.
Wonderful insight.
Some shocks here, but, sad as it is, I'm grateful to them for being in my childhood then into my adulthood.
Nicely presented thank you 🙏
So bloody sad, almost wish I hadn't looked at this. Shirley Ann Field, Beautiful Girl. Angela Thorne, Beautiful Girl - THE Best RP Voice Ever. Haydn Gwynne - sex on Legs. Brigitte Forsythe - best legs Ever! Listened to her in Ed Reardons Week til last month.
Such a crap year, so many good people - horrible year for me. 2023's numbers should add up to 13. I wish it rots in hell.
Angela, Haydn, Brigitte & Shirley I thank you all ❤
I left the UK in 1983, but I remember many of these actors growing up. I didn’t even realize that some of them had passed away. They have left a lasting legacy on film. An expat in Florida.
Same here.I was a huge 'Tomorrow People' fan growing up in the UK, and was saddened to hear of Peter Vaughan-Clarke's passing.
We're losing so many stars now...
Respectfully presented and a beautiful tribute to a plethora of talent - remembering too some of our stars that ( am I allowed to say … ) would likely not have had their passing mentioned on mainstream TV.
Thanks Stu
Thanks Stacy.
I just watched Brigitte Forsyth and Anita Carey as sisters in the Likely Lads a couple of weeks ago!
Bridget Forsyth deserves more coverage. She was a marvellous actress.
I lost my biggest star . My own mum on the 2nd of September 2023 .
Very sorry to hear that.
@@stuviewtv thank you . Last year was a really bad one . I lost 4 friends and Mum at the tail end . Let's say I was happy to say goodbye to 2023 .
So sorry for your loss ❤
I can't believe that I didn't know about Glenda Jackson!
The only good thing about these people is that they did long very good lives.RIP ALL OF YOU.
Of all of them, I wish I'd have known Parky. His interviews with Dame Edna are incomparable. 😢💕
Thank you. Tom Wilkinsons death was a shock when I saw it in the news. He was wonderful in all the characters he portrayed. I will miss him.
Thank you for posting this. Over here in Canada, while we do broadcast Brit shows like Coronation Street, we mostly see American memorial videos that only mention actors who were big in American films. Parkinson was always a riot to watch. A forerunner for Graham Norton. (Both of which I was only able to watch via vids on UA-cam. Would be amazing to watch Parkinson on TV in his heyday.)
Yes indeed, Michael Parkinson was the king of chat.
Great tribute. Although I am in New Zealand I still recognised most of them.
Me too
Me too
Angela Thorne was so beautiful, a real English rose.
Lawrence penry jones mother
I didn’t realise we had lost so many stage and screen icons. Particularly sad about George Alaghiah, David McCallum, Michael Parkinson and Paul O’Grady. A lovely tribute.
I’ve always said, this channel is such a fantastic window in to our past, yet always touches me with a tinge of melancholy. One minute I was playing knock down ginger, scrumping for apples and playing conkers, I blinked and am now 55. Where did the time go? Love your channel Stu, happy new year to you and yours Sir. 🙏🏾
Many thanks!
Whenever I watch tribute videos of those no longer with us, especially those who I watched as a young girl, it makes me think about life and what we should prioritse. "The flower that once has blown, forever dies". Lest we not forget.
How can that boy who I remember watching in “Harvey Moon” be deceased already?
Great job prefer British made rather than American made---- well done
Thank you.
That's it, I'm definitely retiring. Life's too short!
Some I did not realise had passed. Strange really a piece of me died with them. Bittersweet memories
Thank you for this - lost it a couple of times, especially seeing the two wonderful ladies from The Likely Lads - happy memories of the 70's.
No ads, no AI PC generated voice, a great vid. well produced and well narrated. Whenever an actor I knew well, such as Joss Ackland or Paul O Grady came up I couldn't help being moved by the hours of enjoyment I got from them.
Thank you.
Respect to one and all, but i worry about whats taking their place 🙈🙈✌️✌️🇬🇧🇬🇧
So so sad seeing all these beautiful people who were great actors who gave us joy throughout their careers. The end seems such sorrow to us all and especially to their family and friends. We only knew them on the screen but to have known them would have been beautiful. Goodbye dear friends parting is such sweet sorrow. RIP. 😢
Want to commend you Stu: the BBC have offered no such review of the year.
Thanks Dan.
@@stuviewtv The yearly tribute was beautiful. Such considered overviews of those who passed.
BBC did but it was naff compared to this nice one stu...so many great people have left us..😢gazz
Well presented, nice voice and nice background music!
Thank you.
What an amazing tribute to all the stars of stage and screen featured here,i know of them all but whati never worked out was that ducky in NCIS was in danielle and steele! Thankyou stu and much love to all their familys this year
Thank you.
Goodness had not realised George Alagiah had passed away. How sad, he really was a very personable man.
and so young
Do I have a distorted perspective....but have the losses of the last few years left a big hole in the pool of British talent.
So sad when you lose anybody in the home and our wounderfull actors and sport stars but all there talent kept the the world going gone but ever forgotten plus’s out wounderfull Queen last year
Lovely tribute to all those who sadly moved on...makes me sentimental and appreciate what we have now....cherish the moment.
A fitting tribute to some fabulous people. May they all RIP.
I seemed to be watching this through the eyes of a child...even though I'm 54 😪
I remember most of them as I'm of an age as they say.
Terribly sad to see Peter Vaughan-Clarke died. 'Stephen' was one of my very first TV loves :(
I had no idea that Steve Halliwell had passed away. This is the most upsetting one to me since I am currently watching all his earliest episodes. How very sad. May he and all the others rest in peace
Surely you cant forget Peter Martin's Jewson Adverts. That's what ill always remember him for..He did the Jewson lot..
Mike yarwood was everywhere when I was a kid, but his death hardly went noticed, and alot of people I know had never heard of him. Sad😢
Very true.
Every year, so sad. In particular to me, Paul O Grady, Parky, Mike Yarwood, George Armstrong, Richard Franklin, David Kernan and I can't believe Haydn Gwynne passed. She was utter quality. And everyone else to be fair. All in their own way parts of my childhood and life. Thank you all of you. Heart breaking the lot of them. RIP.
Too many great actors and actresses have left us
Bridget a comedy great from What ever Happened to the Likely Lads? to Still Open All Hours.
I am absolutely worry I know all of them ! And i am French ! Feel so sad ! They give me a lot of joy ! English are best actors
Heartbreaking when you see the talent that we have lost. I wish they could live forever & in the future, many will watch them & remember how good they were, how they made us laugh, cry & appreciate them. RIP. All of them….
I didnt but should have realised that Dicky Davis would have been in his mid 90"s
I honestly didn't know half these people were dead 😱
RIP TO ALL YOU GREAT PEOPLE !!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
