Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash called Hendersonville, Tennessee their home. Today, we will visit the site of their former home that burned down in 2007 after being purchased by Bee-Gee Barry Gibb. The house was built in 1968 and Johnny Cash and June Carter spent 35 years with family and friends as well as other musicians here. There was a recording studio on the property and their neighbors included Roy Orbison and Conway Twitty. The home across the street was referred to as the Mama Cash House, which Johnny Cash bought for his parents in 1974 and is also the house Johnny and June started living in when their health declined as this house was smaller and one story.

One of my favorite episodes of Little House on the Prairie is the one with Johnny Cash and June. What a peaceful place.

What a cool place to see! I love the fence. Such a beautiful area. I had never heard of Barry Gibb owning this. I absolutely love the Bee Gees. Such a talented group of brothers. Amazing voices! Thank so much for taking us here.

Thanks for the tour of Johnny & June’s property along that beautiful lake. I’m sure they had a wonderful time enjoying the peace & solitude, totally different from their touring on the road. I loved the film “Walk the Line”, it was excellent. Joaquin & Reese both sang all the songs in the movie, no lip sinking. Plus Reese won an Academy Award for her performance as June.

After 25yrs. June Recorded her first project ‘Press On’ at their Cabin. In May 1999 she had an intimate CD Release Party set up on the Tennis Courts, covered Huge Canopies, thick rugs, dining tables & Chairs, Caterers, Performance stage by the Lake next to their home. She won her first Solo Grammy, Feb.2000. ❤❤ The record label, management company made sure it was all about June, not Johnny. et Al promotional, marketing, advertising, Magazines, TV, Radio, Interviews. Johnny had been sick, unable to do any performances for quite awhile, supported her big time. Stayed behind in Backstage area. The most magical part for them both, he was energized by Her! felt up to & able to come on stage, performing their 2 hits towards the end. Nashville, Atlanta at the Cotton Club, LA at the Troubadour, NY…Your video/visuals brought instant flashbacks, memories & history being made driving thru gate of the fenced/ rock walls & the beauty of the land and property..

An absolutely gorgeous piece of property. The Mama Cash house has been featured on a few UA-cam channels. It has a lot of Cash history to it too. Good luck to the buyer, but I wish The Cash House were still there. It could have been turned into a "Graceland" type memorial tour. So much history, just gone. That saddens me, as I love historic homes!!! Especially Lincoln's home and Grants home. I have toured both and are excellent. I'd live to see Monticello, as I've seen Washington's Mt. Vernon which was breathtaking! ❤😊❤

Sad that anybody of the family (his son) don’t create a museum inside the house or live inside then house of his parents. It’s an historical place.
Sad that now there are strangers that will live there in the future..

Following in the steps of Conway Twitty (Twitty City), Cash used to sell cook books to the visitors. He could be seen around town, usually at the Walmart. He died in the Mama Cash house...

Boaters have reported seeing Johnny's figure watching the lake from the site of the house. I believe the chimneys survived the fire and are still standing.
