The Most Beautiful Grave and Tribute to a Loved Child from 1891

The Most Interesting Grave Ever and More at Calvary Cemetery. Today, we are at Calvary Cemetery in Evanston, Illinois to check out what I feel is one of that most beautiful graves I've ever seen. We will also visit baseball pioneer Charles Comiskey and a few others. The main purpose of this video is to show you the grave of Joseph "Josie" Lyon, who came from a well off family, son to George and Catherine Lyon. His father George was co-founder of Lyon and Healy Music company which produced harps and is still in business today. Joseph passed away as a child and by the thought that went into this grave, you can see that his family loved him dearly. I will tell you what I know of his story as well as a few other notables around Calvary Cemetery.

The sculpture may have been copied from his photohraph. I say this because of the pose, the accutremont, etc. It may have been a "ringer" which took a great deal of talent and skill. I speak as a Victorian photo nut and sculptor.

THERE ARE SO MANY STORIES OF A PARENT'S LOVE FOR THEIR CHILD BEYOND THE GRAVE AND THE WAY THEY MEMORIALIZE THEM AFTER DEATH.
