The Dark Side Of Johnny Cash Everyone Likes To Ignore

  • Johnny Cash may have been a legend, but he was also a man with personal problems that threatened his life, his relationships, and the California Condor. Cash was a drug addict, whether or not he happened to be using on any given day, and he relapsed several times over the course of his long life. Not all of his resulting binges resulted in disaster, but some sadly did, and these events are not widely discussed, perhaps out of respect and admiration for Cash's stature in the world of music. While everyone knows that Johnny Cash had personal struggles, few know the details. Here's the dark side of Johnny Cash everyone likes to ignore.

Good honest video. I'm tired of biographies that make it seem like June "saved" Cash from his addiction and bad marriage. The fact of the matter is, Johnny and June carried on in an adulterous relationship for years. The way that Vivian has been demonized is so unfair. She just wanted Cash to stay at home more and help raise their daughters, but Cash was selfish and just wanted to party and have his fun while out on the road. Cash was honest, I wish more biographies were too.

The title of this video is purely to attract viewers- it is click bait- there is nothing new or hidden in what is said here. Johnny Cash repeatedly admitted and spoke about all of these issues (and wrote about them in his autobiography). He was honest about his struggles, demons and dark side but every time he relapsed/fell down he got back up and tried to do better - he never gave up and June and his family never gave up on him. One incorrect fact in this video - the condors were NOT killed but were chased away by the fire - check your facts. Johnny was a complicated man - very fallible and very human - but he was also a special, great, unique human with amazing talent, a genius mind, a huge heart, and a humble, gentle, empathetic spirit, who has left us a wonderful legacy of music. It is not that people ignore or do not know about his dark side - he is loved and admired for being who he was overall because, in him, the light fought the darkness and the light won and shone brightly through his music and all the good works and many, many humanitarian deeds he did but did not publicize.

I have compassion for him. But he was far from a shining example of a person. He wrote hundreds, if not thousands of beautiful letters to his first wife Vivian. He told her he loved her until he died, and he would never leave her. And after she had 4 children, and Johnny going through many ups and downs with pills and alcohol, he left her for another woman. Completely abandoned her with the kids, isolated. A man who abandons his wife and children has massive issues, and those issues will not go away with another woman. June didn't save him, she was a temporary fix. Addicts tend to substitute addictions and people. And they tend to relapse. It's a life's journey. The struggle continues, and for some, it's a roller coaster ride. The fact that he had no remorse for causing such a damage to his family and to the environment shows that he definitely had a dark side. It's good that he tended to be honest, but doesn't excuse the pain, suffering, and devastation he caused. Of course he deserves compassion, but what's right is right, and what's wrong is wrong. No one is above the higher law. RIP

Please watch the the sad story of the abandoned family. Vivian was a saint, Set aside as a nobody. Suffering for the neglect of the little ones of their father.
Even through all the suffering, God blessed her with the most Beautiful face & youthful body I've ever seen on a aged lady. A must see.."MY DARLING VIVIAN"

Also what time of year did the fire occur , just wondering because if was summer the babies would have left the nest, so I don't see how a fire would kill an animal that can fly away.

At the end of the day he was a human just like all of us, i doubt you're perfect yourself. he was honest about his problems and did do some good in his life, and he made great music
