Hi , you haven't done anything wrong ! With the amp you have that's all you can do. If you had an amp with ACCESSORY CONECTORS , than you could connect the EQ , so it works on all components.. I have a video on connecting such amp too. It's called ; HOW TO CONNECT EQUALISER TO AMP WITH PRE-AMP INPUTS. As mentioned earlier you would need a different amplifier to do that.
@wilsq30 No ! Incorrect ! Were you high when you came to the conclusion that a different equaliser, would make a difference? What is a different equaliser in your definition?
I wish I could give this 100 thumbs up. I watched so many other videos and could not get my Yamaha EQ-70 to work with my tape deck. Vidtech is AWESOME!!!
Thank you for the video as I had no problem with your explanation and I was able to connect a Kenwood GE-1000 equalizer to a Sansui 5000A and an Audio Control C-101 to a Sansui 881 without any issues
You don't have a "Tape Monitor" option? if you did, turning it on (with the same hookup) would apply the EQ settings on all of the outputs - am i right?
If you dont conmect the tape dec , then the music played through aux ( for example phone music through a lead) should be able to be adjusted with the equaliser right?
You need pre amp out /in connctoes on the back of the amp , to use equaliser with the whole system. Connected like in this video it will only equalise sound from the cassette deck. On that subject you might want to check out my new wide on conecting a equaliser to amp with pre-amp inputs.
@vidtech2630 hi thanks Yes I have an old NAD amp which has the pre amp outputs. Not many amps have this feature nowerdays and its uusually the very high end models that have it. Do you have a link for new video?
Thanks ! Unfortunately i never had a turntable , so I'd only be guessing if said ; OUTPUT from turntable to INPUT on eq , than eq OUTPUT to turntable INPUT on the amp. But don't quote me on that.
Like I've said never had a turntable, sounds like you might need a amp with pre-amp inputs . And conect it through the pre-amp path , not all amps have that option.
That was a great question ! Out of my own curiosity, I looked into it and it looks like you need a amp with tape monitor button switch. Vintage amps with tape monitor buttons are rear and expensive. A mid 90s Yamaha with multi channel input button selector , cold do that too ! Check out my video ; TAPE MONITOR WITH YAMAHA RX-V475 how to.. This is one way to conect an EQ to your turntable and with a switch box to anything else you want to conect at the same time. Thanks for asking.

I have a 4-WAY RCA Switch (4 IN 1 OUT) for turntable and 3 CD players (they are the old Sony jukebox players that hold 300 CDs each) The setup works just fine.
Can we just connected Cd player rca direct to EQ {in} and out put rca from EQ to the integrated Amp … ? Btw rca from EQ through Amp which channel we can Tape. Aux Cd ?
@@vidtech2630 I have all equipment (CD transport, and streamer) connected to one DAC. Signal from DAC is connected to amplifier. Amplifier has only standard RCA inputs. @marcinbogucki5154 Good question, and I'm not sure , if the EQUALISER would work just "in line" the way you expect it to work. If you end up trying this . Leave a comment on how it went.
San Tech Views , thanks ! I will try to answer your question. The amp is a Yamaha rx-v450 with 85W per Chanel x 6 channels , it has a impedance switch on the back , so you can use more or less any speakers as long as they are all the same impedance. I went with 6ohm speakers , main speakers being Yamaha NS-55 rated at 6ohm 70-250W and Sony SS-XG100AV also 6ohm and 100W , and Sony SS-LB 255 also 6ohm , these I will be upgrading when I find something better. Sub is also Yamaha active 60W. And If I use music in my video , it's the sound straight out of the system, that was recorded on a cassette that you hear in the videos. Thanks for the question.
So when you connect the equaliser to an amp, through a tape deck, does that mean the turn table and cd, that’s also connected to the amp can be equalised too.
Through a amplifier with , pre-amp inputs , I believe. If it has those , not many do. You could try and wire in the CD player through the EQ and a switch box if you like experimenting and it's all easy to get to.

It has to have PRE OUT and PRE IN , inputs on the av receiver, not all do have these inputs , if you have those inputs, than it's PRE OUT on receiver to LINE IN on the equaliser, and PRE IN on the receiver to LINE OUT on the equaliser. Like if I said earlier, not all recivers have those connectors. Thanks for asking.
