KEEP GOING!: I practiced on my new hammock for the first time yesterday. Naturally I did majority of these moves and I was shocked. I have no prior experience just minimal pole training. You definitely utilize all of your muscle groups and it makes you more aware of your body placement. If you aren’t already practicing yoga, workouts, or any sort of conditioning START NOW. It’s not for the weak and you will be uncomfortable I’m telling you. Every time I try to do the first sitting position it pinches the inside of my knees really bad and I have bruises now. Just something to get used to or am I doing something wrong?
It is hard for me to tell this way. Personally I don't have knee pain from the first sitting position. I got bruises from wrapping around the thighs at the beginning, which I got used to after a few lessons. The problem is once I got to use wrapping with one leg, I was avoiding to practice the other leg. If your issue persists, I would recommend to stop practicing and seek professional medicine advice. It's better be safe! Hope this helps!
It is definitely an advantage to be flexible but it is not a requirement to practice aerial hammock. I also couldn't do splits when I started 2 years ago. Hello Karina. I have never tried yoga swing before. It looks like yoga swing just has a lot of extra supports to make it easier to handle. I use my hammock for aerial dance =)!

If your issue persists, I would recommend to stop practicing and seek professional medicine advice. It's better be safe! Hope this helps!
What if I'm not flexible and don't know how to do the splits
It is definitely an advantage to be flexible but it is not a requirement to practice aerial hammock. I also couldn't do splits when I started 2 years ago. I got really serious and wanted to advance, so I started training my flexibility. If they are not your goals, you can simply do what you can, or skip those moves. If they are, check out Top10STRETCH, a couple of videos there can help you to advance =)!
@@aerialpractice thank you very much I'll definitely check out the streches
I think my new dream in life is to get up on the hammock with my favourite person, hug them and then stay up there forever. Woah imagine how cool it would be to have a house hanging from a huge hammock and then having to do a cool trick on the hammock every time you want to enter or exit the house😂😂 I think I’m using the word hammock out of context here aren’t I🤔🤔🤔?
hahah Thank you for sharing! Hammock is pretty dreamy!
Hi. how much should b the distance between two ceiling hooks if i hv to fix this hammock?
Depends on what you want to use it for. I believe I have them 50cm apart of aerial dance.
My back started to Crack at watching video 😂
I may be cracking my back everyday just to get stronger hahaha!
Oh it's amazing. I'm planning to buy one but I got a question (perhaps a dumb one but my knowledge in this área is 0) : Is a yoga swing the same as a yoga hammock? I've seen that they are sold as two different things, the swing having more supports and handles, are they the same? Can I remove the handles to create this kind of hammock? Please help
Hello Karina. I have never tried yoga swing before. It looks like yoga swing just has a lot of extra supports to make it easier to handle. I use my hammock for aerial dance =)!
@@aerialpractice thanks for answering. I took a look at your chanel, it's amazing, keep the good work!
I really wish I had my own hammock
Perhaps thats a goal to work toward! It took me 2-3 years to finally have my own

@@aerialpractice I am currently interested in using for aerial yoga. Thank you kindly for the information
Hi everyone. I saw this video and very interested with this. But I have a question, hammock dance and yoga swing are same thing or these thing are different? I really don't have any knowledge in this area. So I really want to distinguish it. Because my faith is not accept yoga, so someone can help and answer my question. Please.
Not the same. Dance is dance, yoga is yoga. They both have their pros and cons. Dance is more about expressing yourself, with aerial dance it may require more power than other forms of dances.
