    Here's what I did differently with the same pump. Some people who have this pump say it is junk but really they either incorrectly installed it or have larger fuel consumption than the unit can deliver. These fixes can extend the life of the pump and make an easier driving experience.
    1. Steel fuel filter before the pumps filter and pump. I don't trust the cheap filter they supply.
    2. Install a one way fuel valve near where the engine fuel pump used to be. It helps the pump not have to bring it up from the tank every time.
    3. You probably always have to bolt the pump to the frame but the sound is not as bad if you put a rubber spacer between the frame and the pump on both sides. The frame echoes the sound.
    4. Install a return line with a pressure regulator. If the fuel isn't circulating, it isn't good for the pump and it can lead to vapor lock. You can get bendable metal lines cheap at the parts store. Just use good hose clamps.

      I actually reinstalled it like the last owner did. But yea come to think about it I like knowing the immediate pressure, and would like to throw some sort of filter and pressure gauge

      Nothing like using UA-cam to troubleshoot an issue. No joke I literally just got done watching a video playing it in slow motion with the brightness all the way up to see where these stupid clips go rewiring the car.

    That big fuel caddy can make easy transfer by removing the vent in cap, it's 1/4 NPT Fit a air line connection and use a regulator to keep it low of like 5psi and pressurize tank then it sill move a lot of fuel.

      Actually, I completely rewired the car and there are two ways of doing it. I touched on it in my last American Autowire video but I could’ve done a better job. I’m away from my car right now out of the country, but I could make a video for you explaining the benefits of a relay versus not having one with a schematic. Would you like that?

    Can you adjust the psi on this pump? I've been thinking about converting over from a mechanical one, but I'm probably going to have to run a regulator also my application only calls for around 5-7 psi at the carb

    • @FootageFactory
      @FootageFactory  2 роки тому +1

      I didn’t run a regulator with mine, that’s not to say that I shouldn’t or that I won’t in the future. I need 6 psi at my carb, also there is no way to adjust at this pump.

    • @jonellwanger7258
      @jonellwanger7258 2 роки тому +2

      Fuck no there is no adjusting this pump!! It’s a dumb pump. And I just bought one a week ago! I’m already replacing it because it stopped pulling gas out the tank. It has a 1.5’ line from tank to pump. So it doesn’t have to suck hardly at all, only pushing, and it quit after 1 week. It’s junk!!! Look at a Holley red pump. My friends car has one of them. 3 years not problem! I’ll be buying that one here next!! Edlebrock is junk!
