    Martin, hi. My father had the same, many years back , all fine with him ... well done on sharing all of this. Thyroid meds do mess with the mind and mood... 👍.

      Thanks James, good to hear your father is all good. I'm sure everything will turn out fine, It'll be good getting it sorted so I can plan future events etc. It was typical the Thyroid issues kicked in on that week!

Someone I’ve connected with on social media was diagnosed with ovarian cancer this year she’s had multiple surgeries/treatment and she’s now cancer free! I see the same for you! As you said it’s low grade and treatment options for cancer has gotten so much better! Keep talking. Keep sharing. We are here with you!! Here to support! ❤️🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾

    Mate! 1. Wishing and praying for a speedy recovery! 2. Kudo's for stepping out and sharing this and being vocal. Its a tough topic and a lot to digest and its so key to chat with others in the current times with so much isolation and to chat about this and hopefully help others - you sir are a CHAMPION!

    Martin- thanks for this - hope everything is going well- for me my diagnosis has got me on my bike - doing a ride every day - which helps me both physically and mentally to get through this

    My brother had Prostate Cancer four years age age 56, and his decision was not have treatment but to have it removed down at Exeter. Good decision no more Caner now in good health. Goes to local Yeovil Hospital once a year blood test always ok.

    Martin, thank you once again for sharing with us here. I am sure it is so helpful to so many to hear your journey, and I also hope that you feel supported by all of us! Though I don't work in oncology (I work in Genetics) many of my patients have prostate cancer and most of them have done extraordinarily well (including those that have undergone both of these types of treatments), and I am imagining the same will be for you.     Hi Martin. I am glad that you made the decision to openly share your diagnosis. It was a brave decision and must have been difficult to make. You may encourage other men to get tested if they have symptoms.     Hi Martin great video, I think the hardest point is deciding which way to go the Brackytheraphy or Surgery? What were you thoughts on the options and what made you decide Surgery? Looking back now would you make the same decision?

      Thanks, the decision was incredibly hard to make, the reason I chose surgery was, if they take it out it’s gone, that ended up being true but the after effects of having surgery are still a big issue for me over 2 years later, I still get shooting pain and have reduced movement. If I had to choose again, I think I would go for Brackytheraphy, the recovery time from that is very quick, the only concern would be, would it totally get rid of the cancer? It’s not an easy choice but still having issues now if very frustrating. According to the hospital I’m an exception to still be having issues but my personal experience would sway me away from surgery if I had a choice again. I hope everything works out well for you.

    Hi,
    What was "low level"?,I have low level and option of doing nothing was put on table.
    What were your PSA levels?

      My PSA was 11 & my Gleason was 3+4 (7). Treatment can vary depending on the individual & circumstances such as PSA/age etc. If you're unsure, I'd say make another Dr's appointment to get some advice on what your options might be?

      That's same score as me,I have chosen monitoring option,as this can remain stable for years,my PSA levels are sticking around 5.5

    Thanks for this. While watching, I was thinking to myself so many questions that it sounds like you may answer in your next video. Even before the doctors told you the news.
    I guess “why were you tested”. Just due to your age or did you have discomfort or symptoms?
    I know most of us guys have “visit the doctor” at the bottom of the list - if we even keep lists. Thanks again for sharing your journey. Wayne

    Well done Martin on putting that together. Your You Tube videos are so inspiring. This is just short term. You will do fine and make a quick recovery for sure. Hope the surgery is soon and then rest up a bit. At least you are, in otherwise great shape. You can eat well and rest up.     What do you mean by 'low level'? As I thought some 'low levels' can be just monitored regularly as another option?

      I think (but could be wrong) if the level is around 8 or 9, then monitoring is an option, mine was 11 & due to me being at a relatively young age then surgery was suggested.

      @@TheDeterminedRunner Hi and thanks for your reply. I really appreciate it. My PSA level at time of being told I needed an MRI scan was 4.1. I had an MRI scan done and they said there is a lesion on my prostate only small and they gave it a PiRad score of a 4 with 5 being the worst. Have to have a biopsy done probably this month to see what it is.
