@@ShifterChaos i dont even know music theory so i cant tell you if it was wrong or right, i was just genuinely perplexed that you were that concise about such a complex concept. loved the vid btw :)
I don't feel like it is that surprising, considering that a good chunk of the video is about music theory, much in the same way a good chunk of making A Music is using music theory... so... like... really not that surprised... really... ;P
Quick tip! For a random pre-set instrument you can just press R, and if you want a totally random sounding synth, press SHIFT and R, just to speed things up a little
Thanks! I tried to keep things engaging, but I also wanted there to be actual substance... I hope I struck that balance. If you make anything with beepbox, feel free to share it here in the comments!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! Thank to your tutorial, I was finally able to get out of the slump I was in, in terms of music composition. For months, I struggled to come up with ANY ideas for original songs, either that or I hardly ever finished my songs. Thanks to your tutorial, specifically the parts in which you went into the steps of making a song, I was able to realize that the reason why I struggled to come up any ideas was because I was too hasty and was trying to compose the melodies first, rather than trying to compose the chords first. I composed the chords first and I finished my song. Not only did I finish my song, but this song was the best and longest song I made yet. Thank you so much for your wonderful, funny video!
BeepBox is open source, which means there are mods floating around on the internet, such as ModBix or UltraBox. They can include quality of life changes, extra presets, themes, and just more options for your A MUSIC.
man, this is one of the few beepbox tutorials i've found, and this one was the best so far. I've been using this program for a while and I really enjoy using it. good job!
You realize you've kick started at least 4,000 people's understanding of music right? I literally had no idea what any of the music vocab words you were using in the beginning of the video and now I've created two songs and I'm learning logic pro. Thank you for your service
Thank you for making this video! 🙏 It's pretty straightforward, doesn't go into needless details and isn't confusing at all. Perfect! It's the video about music making I've been looking for, for YEARS and I stumbled upon it randomly 😅 As someone more into drawing and 2D graphics and not really musically inclined, this really helps me a lot. So, once again: Thank you very much! 😁
did you know you can make a second layer of shapes appear on the note by holding left click over them? No? Well now you do, repeat this process in different parts of the notes down to thin up to expand to customize the note even further. :)
Every time I forget how to change the volume of a note I come back here intending to just find that part of the video to remind myself and get right back to making my A Music, and every time I end up just rewatching the whole video again 'cause it's just plain fun
I've been looking high and low through music theory tutorials, just trying to learn to make A Music. It's such an unapproachable topic if you're trying to go in with 0 knowledge, but this is the entry point I've been looking for. Thanks!
I figured out most of BeepBox with trial and error, but I COULD NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO VARYING VOLUMES ON THE NOTES. Now I know, thank you, this has changed my life.
Woah woah woah woah... this is a tutorial on how to make "A Music". I cant recommend it for "making music"... wouldnt have the first clue how to do that...
Despite knowing all of the music theory, I greatly enjoyed this explenations you provided. Thank you for teaching me about the software and making me laugh!
This is probably the best tutorial ive ever seen for anything, you taught everything well without boring me, i will now proceed to make a music thank you
Once you learn the basics and train long enough, you'll be able to learn: That music, then This music, and finally, once you master the craft, you'll learn: THE music
finally a funny tutorial! ive wanted to make a music but never foun an engaging tutorial until now. not only did you make a music but you also made a funny!
This actually helped on ynderstanding how A MUSIC work, i always wanted to make my own A MUSIC, but i had no background knowledge of it, thank you very much
Hey.. I know this isnt for that kind of music and I know its for a more simpler genre, but I notice the website asks for midi permission, I know it is for the midi record funciton, but what if I want the opposite? I want the sound to output to the midi (I use a vst roland made that simulates old synths) How do I do it? is there a function for it somewhere? if not, how do I know which drum instrument is which? I tried exporting it to midi before and the drums sounds strange....
You're underrated! Thank you so much for helping me learn all this, it was confusing at first, but you've helped me find my way through all those messy controls. Your sense of humor and editing is also hilarious and entertaining, it helped me stay focused to the tutorial. Hope you get more subscribers and thank you once again!
hi!!! i was wondering if you know how to make a ride bell sound (not chiptune), as ive been trying for months. thank you if you know how, and thank you anyway for the video :3
this video is amazing, speaks to me in my language ngl, i understood 100% of that, which is incredible because this is music theory and how to use a new skill tutorial basically, one question i have is, I cannot seem to be able to fade the individual notes, y'know the thing that makes them triangular and fade in/out individually? i can't do it no matter how i try to click and stretch and bend the notes, is there a trick to it or an alternative way of doing it?
