This is a good hike considering it is in a highly populated area. Just be prepared for lots of people if you go on the weekend. Good views on a clear day.
@@Hikingguy I show people why you carry a map ya know hold the compass north and orient the map north show them maybe this is the area you would be lost in if you go this way you'll find this road or mark the waypoint and the gps will tell you go this way I try I don't want to have the outdoors become a night mare if you get the book wilderness navigation it will tell you have a back up ALWAYS !!!
Nice, you'll also be fairly close to the Hollywood Sign hike (and the network of trails in Griffith Park) - check out the guide on my site if you're interested
It's pretty steep for a toddler. You may have to carry them for portions of the uphill or just go slow. Give it a try. If they can't do the uphill, try taking them to the rock mandala in the beginning. That's a great (and easy) toddler hike.
@@Hikingguy Sounds good! Thanks again! I actually just saw your videos on the Orange County Family Hikes. I think I might start with those and then go from there. 😊
Yup, that's them. There's a ton of high mountains that you can hike right outside of LA, check it out >> hikingguy.com/hike/hiking-trails/la-mountain-hikes/

Yea, agreed, weekday mornings are best.... on the day I did this video I could see St Nicolas in the Channel Islands, about 60 miles out.
Amazing walkthrough..Love it
Thanks for sharing! Will definitely go on a hike here when I get the chance! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
👍👍👍
Nice turn by turn and review. Never done it. Too many people. I'd never finish because I talk to much to folks on the trail.😋
@Marcus Mcgarkus haha...that's good to know. Maybe one of these days I'll make it a point to get up there then.
got me a new etrex 30x horsing around in the angeles national forest some trails are like 20 miles long way to much for me but having a lot of fun
Nice, yea, I get lost in maps too... better to get lost on a map than on a trail I say...

I know Niall and Harry styles have Hiked this place many times before. Especially Niall. Its seems like a nice place.
Yea, it's the star spotting hike of LA. Wisdom Tree is another one that I see celebs on once and a while.
Be there next week, staying in Beachwood Canyon will be checking it out.

@@Hikingguy Cool thanks!! Yeah was on website checking out the trails.
Thanks for all that you do. Can you exit or access the park after hours?
It's easy at first...but then it gets really hard...
Thank you so much for all the information! It is extremely helpful!! Would kids be able to do this hike (the shorter one)...like a toddler?

When I visited LA I saw snow capped mountains. I'm pretty sure I did, would they have been the Gabriel mountains you mentioned?
