For the Innsdale and Mt Lee routes, you didn’t tell them to take the paved road that goes up to the sign. Many people have missed that turn and continued to Mt Hollywood Dr
Thank you so much for saying that! I felt the pain. You'd think hiking to the Hollywood sign would be an easy thing to do, but it turned out to be more complicated than it should have :)
Peter, this video is both informative and inspirational. I live oversees. . I plan to visit LA next week, and you have inspired me to take this hike.. My plans has a twist, and I want to ask if it sounds okay. I'd go park my rental car at the free parking near Griffith Observatory around 3 to 4 PM. I'd take Uber to near Lake hollywood park and walk up the Mt Lee short trail.. From there I would walk down the Mt Hollywood trail you introduced in reverse back to Griffith Observatory..I would prefer to walk back due to my medical conditions. Do you think this plan is feasible? Any suggestions? Would all the trails be open after the January storms in Cali? Thanks a lot..
Great video, give me insight on a hike I plan to do soon. I’m so worried about vehicle safety while I’m gone on the hike, I heard there’s lots of break in these days. Any insight on which trailhead has the safest spot to park?
Thank you so much! I have never had an issue with vehicle safety at these locations or anywhere in LA for that matter. I can’t guarantee you’ll be fine but I think you will. Each of the parking locations is just a bunch of other hikers pretty much…
Canyon Lake Dr a residential street near Innsdale Trail is on west border of Lake Hollywood Park which offers large green grass park space and views of Hollywood Sign. It's popular tourist location with plenty of room for everyone to take photos of the Hollywood Sign so hard to imagine break ins with all those people around.
@@PeterOwenFilms Hello! I just went to the hike yesterday! Unfortunately, I did not see you but your information was very much helpful :)) Thanks again
thanks for the video which trail would you recommend to get a pic in front of the hollywood sign a lot of the videos just show the final result being behind the sign
Hey there - thanks for watching! That would definitely be the Innsdale trail. Great views of the sign the whole way. You can’t get up super close to the front of the sign (not allowed), but the best pics from the front are from the Innsdale Trail. Enjoy!!
Hello Peter, I saw that the neighbors have already put an additional gate at the entrance, is this door open or how can you enter now? Thanks a lot, great video! Min. 3:10
You’re so welcome! I recently went through that gate. You have to open a door in the fence, but it has never been locked when I went through it. The last time I was there was around the beginning of April. 😃
Nice! Love this park! My favorite route is starting on the east, walking up past the golf course on Vermont, and then all the way east to the sign, Wisdom Tree, down to reservoir and then some delicious pho at It's Pho on N Cahuenga 😄 there's a video on my channel!
Please let me know if you have input on these hikes or other hikes! Thanks for watching :)

No need to be fearful if afraid of heights?
Definitely not. You’re on a wide trail. No crazy cliffs or anything. It’s pretty much paved and big enough for cars
Are they all dog friendly?
Hmm I’m allergic to dogs so I never know… but google will definitely be able to tell you
Finished the hike just behind the Hollywood sign is ridiculously 👎🏼
What?? Such great views of the LA metro below!
