I followed your video for a Christmas Day walk. As a tourist who gets nervous because I have a poor sense of direction, I found this very helpful and can’t thank you enough. We missed the turn to the back of the sign but remembered your video and found our way.
Thank you so much for this video!! I was not planning on hiking to the Hollywood sign because I didn't know you could. I was looking for climbing the famous step in L.A. BUT after watching this video I am going to do both! This is going to be a great adventure because I love nature and I love hiking!!!
My wife and I just did this today and we followed your video exactly, from where to park, all the way up to the very top, and the detour to the viewpoint.. This video was super helpful! Thank you for posting!
Love the video used to live on Holly Ridge drive in the 70s bring back memories used to hike up to face from the water tower at bottom of the sign thank you😊
This was the perfect guide! Your video was clear and memorable. We found the car park no problem, photographed the map (your great tip!), and easily followed the route you described. We even remembered you saying the middle mile of the three was more flat, a rest we enjoyed before the mile-three climb to the peak. What a splendid hike! Great work, thank you!
I just suscribe you very detail thanks men! This weekend I’m going there new year going to be awesome and this great start picking up hiking we new my gal and i
Thank you for this video. I've hiked to Hollywood Sign from the Wonder View Trailhead(US Flag), and kept going to Griffith Observatory, & all the way back. Was an Epic hiking day w my best buddy.
Going to Hollywood in a few weeks, first time ever visiting the state of California. I’ve studied your video and I think I am ready for this hike! Thanks! I’m a little bit scared of heights, but I have to experience this! Wish me luck! I’ll be back to let you guys know how it went. I’m so excited!
Did the hike this morning, waited till sunrise to arrive at the park. It had been open since at least 5:30am according to locals who hike it frequently. Aside from that, really excellent source of information. Appreciate you for it!
Thank you! Your very concise instructions provided for an excellent experience. The use of hiking poles made the ascent (and descent) much more controlled, especially with a backpack full of water, which I purchased and froze the day before the hike. Not only are the views spectacular, enjoy looking at the vegetation and rock formations. Thank you again for this guide.
Wow, this video is absolutely fantastic! As someone who has always dreamed of hiking to the Hollywood Sign, I can't thank you enough for sharing this incredible experience. The breathtaking views and insider tips from the pro guide make it even more special. I'm inspired to plan my own adventure now. Keep up the amazing work!
Another great video Hiking Guy! I just recently started wearing Danner 2650 Campo shoes after wearing Altra Lone Peak 6's. You should give em a try, pretty comfortable and versatile, though they are an 8mm shoe.
I made the trek on Friday, 9/1/23. It was an exhilarating event. Thank you for the excellent instructions! The only regret is that I wish I had started earlier, like 7 or 8 am instead of 11am.
Hi, I have watched a ton of your videos. Another great job! Question, if you don't go to the top by the observatory, how far is it round trip to the Hollywood sign viewpoint? Keep up the good work!
So we can't hike the trails before sunrise since the gate opens at sunrise? We are planning to reach the hollywood sign a little before sunrise or at sunrise

Another great video. My wife and I did this exact hike as part of our honeymoon road trip last year, it was brilliant.
Thank you!!! Visiting and now I know what my wife and I are doing today. Video was so informative and easy to follow.

Thank you for the great instructions and info!
Thank you for the great Video sir, it is very much appreciated 👏🏻
Chris, thanks again this great guide; we did many hikes already based on your videos and turn by turn instructions.
Thanks for all you do to try and help those who are interested in hiking.

Yea its really when the park workers get there but sunset / sunrise are the official times
Thank you for this guide! It was very helpful in navigating our first hike to the Hollywood Sign. The views are great!!
This saves me a trip. Thanks. I've heard recently there's been a lot of break-ins for cars parked there.
I wouldn't say there are more than usual, all trailheads are usually a target for break-ins unfortunately. ua-cam.com/video/HC5fzVMm4vU/v-deo.html

The first time I did this hike I noticed the reservoir and vineyard. Driving Los Feliz I never knew the stuff was there
Great video,thanks 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
I loved it!! 👏
Perfect! Thank you! I never knew that was the right trail 😅
Fantastic presentation bud as always, such a enjoyable and interesting presentation! Trail is gorgeous!
Thank you!
Hi, Great video we will be doing this in June 25 when we go, Can I ask how easy would it be to get a cab or uber back to the hotel from the car park?
Very easy
I’m a new backpacker and I’ve gained a ton of info from your videos. The #motoroladefy is the last piece of kit I really need!
Another great video Hiking Guy! I just recently started wearing Danner 2650 Campo shoes after wearing Altra Lone Peak 6's. You should give em a try, pretty comfortable and versatile, though they are an 8mm shoe.
Thank you! The Danners are on my list to try out
Nice details!

how long does it take going back? and is there any other route going back?
What time is sunrise at the parking lot? I wanted to start as early as possible. What time exactly should I be at the parking lot? Thank you!
What a great video
I wondering if I can ride my bike there?
Only on the paved part, not the dirt trails
@@Hikingguy thank you 😊 you're great
thank you... hiking w kids... 9 and 13... wondering if we could just go to viewpoint and back, how long that hike is round trip? thx!
Are you asking about viewpoint at 7:15 just after the green gate?
Hi, I have watched a ton of your videos. Another great job! Question, if you don't go to the top by the observatory, how far is it round trip to the Hollywood sign viewpoint? Keep up the good work!
Prob about 7-8ish roundtrip, and thank you!
Great job, again! Thanks!!
Thanks for the video. Do you recommend this hike for kids?
If they can walk 3 hours or so you'll be fine - trail is wide and kid friendly
it's about 1,000 foot ascent over 3 mile
Do you know if dogs are allowed on this trail?
Yes however leashes are required.
Is there a way to go directly to that hollywood sign viewing spot you mentioned at the end?
maps.app.goo.gl/xdLcqx8S71wXNsUM8
Is it 3-4 hr return or one way please?
total / return
So we can't hike the trails before sunrise since the gate opens at sunrise? We are planning to reach the hollywood sign a little before sunrise or at sunrise
How long is it from the sign to the tree of wisdom?
approximately one mile and more difficult as trail is narrower rocky and requires using hands to climb
After testing the Inreach 67i how did it compare to the 66i
Review this week
Where can you park?
check the link in description
That sign is from 1978. The original sign was bought by an artist in Bloomington, MN.
What are the hours of the hike?

👍👍
Did you have fun?
Watch out for the rattlers HikingGuy! These are celebrity rattlers. They're very vain and seek the limelight, and your ankles. 🤡🤡
do people ever encounter mountain lions? or any other creatures ? lol
You'll be fine, no need to worry about that stuff.
So if you are afraif of heights this wont be a big deal, you dall you arent going off a cliff
no its fine
Drive up to the Hollywood sign is much better than hiking
Nice vlog. I saw you were wearing your Apple Ultra. What is your favorite map app you are using on the Ultra now?
