To be fair, every sign suggested that the patient would be okay. I totally agree, never say it’s going to be okay when it’s uncertain, but in that case it was pretty probable he would be okay. I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to continue ALS for at least 20 minutes, not give up after less than a minute. Asystole isn’t shockable but they still should’ve continued compressions and dosing adrenaline instead of calling time of death way too soon. Plot needed to move along quicker I suppose 😂
yeah, that really bothers me too! It's sssooooo stupid how they make these medical shows SO inaccurate (and frankly the erroneous way they show CPR is actually dangerous - as people without any first aid knowledge will inevitably think that's what you're supposed to do) for no reason whatsoever! As it's NOT like they make the CPR to be this short to get the plot moving! - Since it's a show, where the shots are *edited* , they could easily edit the shots in such a way to show the passage of time - you don't have to make the audience sit through 20 mins of CPR, to give them a sense of CPR having gone for a longer period of time! They'd just have to montage a few clips and realistically they should have the doctor doing the chest compressions get a out of breath and sweaty and even have someone change with them (as in a real life situation, if the CPR has to go on for a while, you're supposed to change the people doing it - in a coordinated manner).
well if you look at it that way, no leads applied, he also shocked twice without even known an initial rhythm (so he may have shocked asystole twice), and for all we know that asystole could have because he isn't even attached to the monitor.....
Alex The Great you can’t go for longer than 10 mins 20 is a stretch but after to much epi you can’t give them any more then when you reach the max amount of volts for that’s age you can’t go any higher but yeah it’s unrealistic in a way
