I'm glad Granny has finally gotten a retrospective. My favorite version is definitely the Looney Tunes Show. She's given so much depth, and I love her badass backstory.
Granny definitely deserves the spotlight, she’s a really funny character in the roaster of Looney Tunes characters outside of Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester, Tweety, Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner Also, R.I.P June Foray, she played Granny for a really good amount of years and I think she did great in her role!
I love Granny!❤ Her zany antics remind us that this gal has tremendous pep and won't let a silly thing like age show her down! She reminds me a lot of my own Grandma as she'll still surprise you with her craftiness!😂 She and I had a Granny/Tweety relationship, so watching any of their antics with Sylvester is always a welcomed treat!❤️
I like Granny from "The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries". GLAD to hear that when June Forray passed, Granny was not forgotten about and has a new voice artist.
Amazing evolution of Granny from the Looney Tunes. She is a charming and funny character. Considering the fact that Granny's real name is Emma Webster and then Dean Granny in the Tiny Toons Looniversity series, I think the name I was thinking is Emma Dean Webster. Overall solid evolution.
18:05 - It's worth mentioning, the voice of Granny for World of Mayhem is Eric Bauza. Yes, THAT Eric Bauza - the guy who's practically the modern day Mel Blanc, he's flipping everywhere.
He practically voiced 99% percent of the characters in the game; the only three exceptions were Porky, Tweety and Sylvester Jr, who were voiced by Bob Bergen…though Bauza did the voice the Monster version of Tweety.
Assumed future: Voice Evolution for Max Goof Cat in the Hat evolution And next year (around the time of their respective movies): Wallace & Gromit (when Vengeance Most Fowl premieres) Petunia Pig (when The Day the Earth Blew Up premieres) The Powerpuff Girls and Ren & Stimpy, depends on how things are going with their respective reboots.
Granny is a riot! I loved how she always managed to get a one-up on Slyvester. But the last thing I remember seeing in her in was 1996's Space Jam, since my family and I didn't watch Looney Tunes over the past two decades. I didn't know that she'd made so many other appearances. Long live Granny! Bea Benaderet and June Foray, you will be missed. 😢
10:54 Holy crap, Tweety is ginormous. I watched Daffy Duck's Fantastic Island more than once as a kid, but I never noticed that at the time, just like I never noticed how they'd also increased Speedy's size for that movie.
@@Woobuggy848 For Speedy, they alter their size for a surprisingly good reason. This movie was a parody of the television show Fantasy Island. Like the movie, the show had a main character, and his sidekick who is the size of a normal small person. In order to make the reference even more subtle, they upped Speedy’s size up to Daffy’s body.
This video was awesome! I had no idea Granny had such a long history. I always thought she was one of the most underrated Looney Tunes characters. I hope we get a video on Alvin and the Chipmunks soon!
15:46 ❤ Who would have ever thought that Granny was quite the bombshell as well as a spy for the us! This woman is full of surprises and I absolutely loved seeing this take on her! In a fun way, she almost resembles Lois Lane from the Fleischer are Superman shorts!❤
Granny (the Bea Benederet version) was such a great character. A loving, caring owner to Tweety while taking no nonsense from Sylvester when she was also portrayed as his owner. I believe her only non-Tweety appearance was Hare Trimmed, where she was paired with Bugs and Yosemite Sam. Once Granny was redesigned in the 50s (when June Foray took over the role as well), she lost some of her sassiness and spunk.
Granny has always been one of my favorite characters from looney tunes and is one of the coolest old ladies in cartoon history, and i have to say I don't know why we didn't see more of her outside of Tweety cartoons, heck maybe the ones where its Sylvester and Porky in a creepy haunted house, have Porky swapped for Granny.
I’m both surprised and shocked your now doing a Cartoon Evolution on Granny Dave, cause I remember 3-4 years ago when I mentioned if you would do one on Granny you said "I won’t do a Cartoon Evolution on Granny" considering she was already partly covered on your Sylvester and Tweety Cartoon Evolution video. What made you reconsider on doing a Cartoon Evolution on Granny when you initially said you weren’t going to do one on her?
You forget her appearance in It's Nice to Have A Mouse Around the House her last short with Sylvester and her only one with Speedy. Also known as the first Daffy vs Speedy short.
Besides the various shorts, my favorite Granny appearances include that Easter special, "Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries," and "The Looney Tunes Show." I love the backstory the latter gave Granny, although it's pretty bizarre that her younger self looks like Disney's Cinderella.
Granny truly terrified me in Tiny Toons when she was issuing term papers left and right to students failing her pop quiz!!!....And right before the bell let them out on Friday!!! I think many of us went through this same anxiety like poor Plucky here!😂
Funny how you posted this video this month and mentioned "Bugs Bunny and Taz: Time Busters". A friend of mine just released an EU-PT fandub of Time Busters with some of the original Portuguese voice-actors from the classic dubs of the shorts, including Paulo Oom (Bugs Bunny), Paulo B. (Taz and Yosemite Sam) and André Maia (Porky Pig). Unfortunately, Granny's voice-actress (Isabel Ribas) didn't reprise her role, but my friend Ana Rita Martins did an excellent work.
On a side note, there's another woman character that serves as a inspiration/prototype of Granny, the owner of Sylvester (named Thomas in that short) in the debut cartoon of Sylvester and Tweety pairing and the start of the formula: Tweetie Pie. Although she's obviously a lot younger than Granny and other Granny-prototypes, she have all the traits accossiated with them: very protective of poor, little Tweety to the point that she gives Sylvester a beating for even attempting to eat him.
@@Woobuggy848 It’s gets even more better when you realize that EVERY SINGLE core character was discussed at least once in this series. Now this means that the Looney Tunes part of Cartoon Evolution is complete (unless he does any one-off character)
When I saw the first promo for Space Jam A New Legacy, I was interested that Granny was gonna be an actual basketball player and not a cheerleader but I was disappointed because the characters barely played basketball at all

Can't wait to see your voice evolutions of granny! We all adore June Forrey but it's great to see other women pick up the mantle and take on this tough bird! 💕
I'd say my favorite appearance of the character was The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries, but that's my over all favorite version of those characters. All due respect to the original shorts, that is. I love Sylvester in those bur I prefer the more sardonic Tweety and "Angela Lansbury, she ain't" Granny. Especially since I prefer June's Granny over Bea's. Even had one episode where the writers got her to say "Hokey Smoke" in reference to her other famous character, Rocky the Flying Squirrel. That said, I really didn't like Corn on the Cop. It really reeked of why the Depatie Freling Looney Tunes Shorts just didn't hold up, especially what they did to Daffy's personality.
The first short was in 1930 starring "Bosko". In terms of characters still seen today, probably Porky Pig, who was first officially seen in 1935, but in prototype forms as early as 1931.
I'm glad Granny has finally gotten a retrospective. My favorite version is definitely the Looney Tunes Show. She's given so much depth, and I love her badass backstory.

Babe wake up Dave Lee has made another Cartoon Evolution
I like Granny from "The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries".

Tweety:Dwanny it’s that bad ol puddycat!!!!!!!
Sylvester: why do I hear boss music?
Granny: "Take that you rotten cat!"

Even though she mostly plays the straightwoman or the unusually trendy granny for laughs, she never gets old.
...er.
R.I.P. June Foray (1917-2017) for she will always be the best Granny in my humble opinion. 😢🪦
Been waiting like a real granny for this one.!.!

And still…! 👵
I love granny from the looney tunes and I love her in the sylvester and tweety mysteries!

Bauza’s fine, though if you ask me he cannot replace Jeff Bergman.
@@TheDigitalApple I agree with you although Bauza has his own fun spin on the characters

Thank you dave lee ❤❤❤
They nailed her design from day 1. Nice
Let’s go‼️ I love these series‼️
Nice to see World of Mayhem getting mentioned in this series.
I would love to see a cartoon evolution for Rudolph the red nosed reindeer in December to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 1964 tv special

I still like that one Looney Tunes Show episode that had her fight Nazis.

Candi Milo, also known as the 2nd voice of Dexter in Dexter's Laboratory, was also the current voice of Granny.
Yes… I mention her in the video very specifically.

What made you reconsider on doing a Cartoon Evolution on Granny when you initially said you weren’t going to do one on her?
Many people have asked for it over many years. Ideas and plans change over the course of time - especially over nearly five years.
The trio also appeared in One Road Runner and Wile E Coyote short in 2014’s “Flash In The Pain”
I hope you make a Pop Culture Evolution of Pac-Man, dude. Nice video!

Sylvester and Tweety they’re like another Tom and Jerry
She's a kind caretaker in Baby Looney Tunes.
Hare Trimmed is my favorite Granny appearance. Love when Bugs dresses as her to fool Yosemite Sam.
I found the new host for Battle for Grandma, lol.
Besides the various shorts, my favorite Granny appearances include that Easter special, "Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries," and "The Looney Tunes Show." I love the backstory the latter gave Granny, although it's pretty bizarre that her younger self looks like Disney's Cinderella.
That's amazing
Long years as senior citizen! (Giggles) - Granny (Looney Tunes).
