Yes this is the show where the band decided not to sell merch due to high merch cuts. This causes the band to have to raise prices which ultimately comes out of your pocket. We dont play that game.
Fuck any merch cut that goes above 5%!
@@_-TCfuck merch cuts in general. The venue is already getting cuts from ticket sales, parking, and alcohol
Sorry if that question sounds dumb. But what does "merch cuts" mean? Does the venue require you to pay for selling merch? (Greetings from germany)
@@TinoSchulz1990 it’s where the venue takes a percentage of the bands merchandise sales for the night for allowing them to sell at the venue
That's just too crazy. 😀But good response to then not sell any merch at that show at all@@aaronfisher7159
I don't know how feasible it would be for you to do, but I think a video where you talk to other people on the tour and have them share a little bit about what they do would be super interesting
Honestly a sit-down with Luke would be sick 🤙
He’s definitely not very personable
Thank you for taking us with you!!!
The videos were incredible!! As a drummer it's very interesting and addictive to see this other side, I felt like I was on tour with you!! Thank you very much indeed!!
Greetings from Brazil!
Sorry for the bad english...
Uhuuu Brazil lol
VAMO BRASIL CARALEO KLKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Dude your English is fine. 🤘🏻
The techs and roadies are the unsung heroes of concerts. They gotta show up before everyone, set everything up, then are the last to leave after tearing it all down.
I imagine it's an even longer day for headlining bands since their stuff goes up first and comes down last.
You just cannot beat DW in the hardware world, at least in my opinion. I have a 9000 rack and love it to death, everything is so easy to setup and tear down, and all DW components fit together like Lego bricks. Their drums are amazing to me as well, have a Collector’s copper snare 5.5x14, best snare I’ve ever played. I love watching all these videos Matt, keep up the great work!
I watch every minute of every one.
Fascinates this ol guy, even gave some of their music a listen.
Love the drumming, naturally, but gotta say, not nuts about the rest, but I’m pushing 72.
Old dog, new stuff not settling in well.
I really appreciate that you gave it a shot. Too many people are afraid to try new music
@@andrewzvara6102 Remember my mom saying (around '64-5) that she couldn't wait till all this rock'n roll and long hair was gone. Funny thing, my band was Dave Clark 5 and I'd catch her bee-boppin' to 'em. She'd have been 50-51 but old school country farm girl. Our house wasn't exceptionally large but she let my band practice whenever we wanted. Never complained once.
I am so amazed at the budget a band has to have even at this level. The only reason I know of that band is bc of Luke and You Tube. How is there anything left at the end of day. Great videos but it's also a testament to how professional you are that the band lets you do these. Plus you know what you're doing so that helps. Merry Christmas. 🤘
what band is it?
@@yejiz_nutsFalling in reverse
The "Lakers" being there makes since when you consider one of the states nicknames is "Land of 10,000 Lakes". Even though it's more around 11,000. ;)
Was a great winter here, so you guys got lucky. Could have been -20 with snow. Thx for the video, Matt! 😊
If he ever does, the day Luke retires this kit for a new one is going to be such a sad time. Haha this kit is as popular as he is nowadays! Such an amazing kit! Matt thanks for all the videos you share with us! I look forward to these when they come out! 🔥🙌🤙
Thanks Matt, this has been a great watch. Used to be a drummer setting up my own stuff. Would have loved to have such great support.
Cheers from Germany!
W for Dan. Thank you Matt for taking us on the journey as a drum tech! Road crew❤

Great to see a video from my hometown! I have been to a few shows at the Armory. Interesting to see it from this perspective.
Man! I have been watching your videos for 2 full days, studying and correcting my Drum Tech skills.
Yessss! These videos are amazing!
Thanks for taking the time to edit your vids and show the world. I'm glad FIR as a band and specifically Luke let's you do these vids.
Stay good MuthaFkr
From beginning to end! From setting up to tearing down! I love watching your videos!!
Love your videos dude! 🤟🏼
I used to work as local crew here until Covid hit and this makes me miss it🥲 Hope things run smoothly and you guys have a good show!
Youve quickly become one of my favourite channels, this stuff is damn cool to watch. Happy holidays!
Happy holidays to you too! Thanks for watching!
Dude! Love your videos man!
I'm not into any vlogs and things like that, but I look foward to your videos, so relaxing, informative and fun. I used to play drums for a couple of years, but never wanted to go pro as musician, tech or anything like that, just for fun, but I still enjoy watching some drum content here and there, and your content is just great.
Thanks for taking us with you on the last show of the tour!!
Just found your videos and I am obsessed! So cool to see all the behind the scenes footage. Plus your inside knowledge of drums is awesome. Also, I’m start to finish crew candidate, I hope 😃 Keep em coming bro! Cheers from the south coast of England 🤘🏼
I've seen a few shows at this venue now. My first show here was Slayer on the first leg of their final world tour. Amazing show that night.
Thanks for these videos. Really cool to see what happens BTS of a tour.
Also, I've watched several of your videos now and I always watch to the end. 🤘
Love your videos!!! See you in Evansville,IN in a few weeks!
i really like your videos matt and your are one of my biggest inspirations!
Thanks dude! Glad you like the video!
W for Dan! Love your videos dude! Keep it up. Find it fascinating!
Congrats Kirk on single handing the Kelly SHU lol. Hope you guys have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
🤘🎅🤘Merry Christmas Matt!
GO FOR SHOW... so exciting!! The atmosphere becomes electric
Love your videos! Keep it up :)
Ohhhhh stairs and practice kit combo, I know it all too well 😂 great video as always bro!
That drum solo was great!
Hope you had fun in Minneapolis, my hometown! That venue is where Prince filmed the video “1999” video and Aerosmith filmed the video “I don’t want to miss a thing.”
I'm a Tama guy man, out and out. Absolutely love their hardware and drums!
Love your videos, I find them very therapeutic and they make me want to get out the drums right after I watch. I don't know if it was part of your intention, but due to the CC, it forces me to give undivided attention, I cant be doing other things while watch your vids like I normally do!
Funny, I saw FIR at The Armory in San Francisco in 2018 with TDWP, ADTR, and Papa Roach. That building is even cooler looking, it looks like a castle in the middle of San Francisco. Too bad they stopped doing shows there, it was fun.
Cool! Can’t wait for more plaisant videos ! Take care
Ahh the lovely sound of rain and birbs. As always Matt, keep up the awesome work, love the videos! Also you are a glutten for Salad XD
Love your videos. Always watch 'till the end. I carry my own drums, so i use the lightest, sturdiest hardware available, and that's the Yamaha 710 series. Hi-hat stand and cymbal stand. I play mostly very heavy cast snares, so I use a DW5000 snare stand.
Amazing drum technique, greetings from Bolivia. Incredible!!!
I heard about this show FIR decided no to sell merch here because the venue would take a cut
Just discovered your channel today! Very cool video! Looks like a very interesting way of life! Just subscribed. I was just watching some boxing on TV the other night from the Armory. Cheers from California 🍻🎄
Uh oh 👀😂 excited for your vids!
Thank you for your videos throughout this year Matt, it was really incredible to be able to follow your journey with drum tech. happy holidays, cheers!
Since I watch your videos, I have the feeling I'm on UA-cam every time I set my drums up !
Happy New Year, sir
Thanks! Same to you!
dude i love your videos, i really like the behind the scenes look at set up, i play in a band and do studio and production work and these are so cool to watch. love to see every ones secret to a quick and consistent set ups. i play electronic drums and use all dw 9000 hardware, except kick pedals pearl demons all the way lol. keep up awesome inspiring work yo

..
Nice work Kirk
I look forward to your videos.
Matt, just felt the pain with that pull rod on the high hat stand 😢 love your vids mate, been looking forward to the next one, well… this one 😂
anyone mention stages used to be slanted, way way way back when???..... so thats why front is down and back is upstage. THANK YOU Matt!
Another awesome video. My man loves him some salad. Sad to see the tour end. Get some well deserved rest. See you next tour brother.
Always watch all of the videos and they are great! Peter Criss famously said "When KISS started out, I had to lug my drums on and off the subway by myself. I always said that if we ever made it big, and I had a guy to set up my drums for me, I would kiss his ass!" Having opened for a few big names with our band, and having one of their drum techs set my Ludwig's up, I know exactly how he felt. Thanks, guys, for taking care of this dumbass, and being so damn good at what you. I'll never forget you. M
The thing with the hardware is so damn true! I go for Tama hardware. Simple but strong and lot of variety. Such nice videos! Keep it up :)
Congrats to Kirk for giving Kelly the ol' one-hander!
The CC at 0:39 completly agree with ya I love those video so much id take any roadie video anyday 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Been a bit, but I saw Gentle Giant open for Black Sabbath's Iron Man tour in 1971ish possibly 1972. Have not see this venue since, great memories. thanks
Cool videos, thanks for sharing. Shout out to all the working drummers who can't afford a tech.
Team Tama hardware < absolutely love.... Team Tama
Here for the tear down
Hey cheers for the fun vids bro. As people say, they are very relaxing. As for hardware, apart from Hi Hat, Pearl Flatbase all the way. If flatbase does not work, you can reverse the legs. Brilliant. Double braced is such a con, single does the trick every time and is SO LIGHT.
I've been parking underneath this building in their heated garage for years during the week (my job is a block away). I've never actually seen inside this place before.
There's a door seen @35:46 where you scan a pass using that flashing red light to access the parking garage. In MPLS, a heated indoor parking garage is a godsend.
Nice one! i'll see YOU Jan. 23rd in WI :)
Good greif those drums sound killer in that room.
DW 9000 hardware or the Tama Road Pro! love watching your videos Matt, always make it to the end!
Matt horn great job on your drum tech videos you're UA-cam channel
My home state!! LFG!!
Tama hardware is definitely my favorite
My instinctive smile at the fist bump 👍
Hey can you make a video about touring etiquete? Like what to do and what not, and maybe explain some more terms for teching like "upstage" and so one.
Love the videos, keep it up.😄
I miss the birds!!!! Butthe rain is nice also....;-)
I always love these videos, I'm a lighting tech from the UK and its really cool to see the US side of things and a different job on tour.
I noticed there weren't many (if any) local hands helping on the load in, why was that?
Love Snare Weight M80s!
Hey Matt ! I
I'm really enjoying your channel a lot. Could You make a video showing your E.D.C and your personal equipment that you take on tour? Tools, flashlights and other trinkets that we love to see? Greetings from BRAZIL!
Great video as always. As for hardware I'm team Gibraltar, affordable, sturdy and reliable.
For the kick, I'm really light on muffling, just a rag touching lightly both heads and LOW tuning, ATW.
