He was having trouble hearing himself. And still great pitch. It very hard to deliver that solid of a vocal performance without being able to hear yourself well. Seriously underrated vocalist.
I feel like the dude doing the harmonies is throwing him off. maybe not tho, was trying to figure out which one was throwing the other off. robin has such a great voice.
I'll say this, I'm NEVER more impressed that when someone/group performs live and EVERYTHING SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE OR BETTER than the recording from the studio; PUREST TALENT EVER!!!
I saw them in May 1993, in San Juan Capistrano. I believe the tix were $10.67 as a KROQ promotion. I rocked so hard that the chair I had broke under me. Scary to think how great they'd have continued to be if Hopkins could've kept it together and they'd have kept him.
I remember hearing somewhere that many in the band felt "Found Out About You" was their favorite song. I forget where I read that. Awesome video and awesome song!
Maybe it had something to do with the rest of the band kicked out and bought out the heart, the soul, the nuts, and the guts of the group. They were a shell of themselves without Hopkins.
I liked them, but they never had the depth, variety, and volume of work approaching anything like The Beatles. They did two decent albums' worth of material and that's about it. They weren't "The Beatles:" of any era.
@cowsongs main reason why they never had the depth and barely had a decent album was because their principal songwriter, their heart, their soul, was paid off to be kicked out, then he committed suicide about eight months later.
Hopkins 😔 Its sucks to think about it but he wrote this song and "Hey Jealousy" which are clearly their biggest hits. Just think about had he not killed himself. They wouldve been huge bc not only was he a hell of a song writer but he also had a great band around him and the perfect singer for their style of music
I was absolutely blasted at Bushwacker Festival early 2000s Pensacola, FL and G.B. played there. Rob was making his way through the crowd taking photos/signing autographs. Despite the hot chicks around, he wound up talking to me for about 10-15 minutes and wrote me a very cool mssg on my T-shirt "Seek Narcotics Anonymous" hehehehe just kidding - he was a really cool person to meet and you will instantly like him.
...SONG OF THE DAY!!! 🤘🏿ULTRAMEGAROLOTA🤘🏿13/12/2020
I do realize. This video's description says "90's" but not what year exactly. So is he in this video or not? I can't tell if this video is before or after December 5, 1993.
damn this song makes me so emotional
I can listen to this song all day on repeat. Gosh i miss the 90 s :(
You speak for all of us! One of the best songs of the 90s.
This song is like a drug you could never leave your hands on. Amazing ! Don't know many songs like this one
Once upon a time, I lived the lyrics in this song...
Everyone has. Pure heartbreak over a significant other isn't unique to one single person.
Same

I know right
Why does every concert seem better in 80s/90s? Great song bringing on 90s nostalgia.
+DaBears08 Well, band's typically put on better shows when they were in their prime and when people actually go to their shows.
Because the bands were better than nowadays.
No auto tune
It's actually that wonderful VHS recording quality that makes them seem so good
Alomejor es por qué el público participaba más con el artista ,
Ahora los aparatos como los celulares le quitan atención al artista 😢
Great singing ! Such professionals every one was precise

@@pwmmc they were so f*****g good in concert in 1993. Lead, rhythm, bass, and especially drums, kept up with Ventura.
I agree. There is something truly special about his voice. At least to me.
90s was the pinnacle of musical artistry
Straight up American Rock N Roll.
I'm from Italy...this kind of music seldom comes here. But we got UA-cam 👍
I’m from Texas, USA, and this kind of music _never_ comes here. Or anywhere in the US, for that matter.
Weird. I would never say!maybe nowadays good music doesn't come anywhere. What a sad period
@@Jerrycourtney go to Austin lol
Have always loved this song. Listened to it alot in the 90's. Watched the official music video to this song many times.
Do you like the faster original version from the Dusted album?
@@mardoggyo6712 I never listened to that one before.

I ❤ this song so much.
when lyrics mattered
I love how he corrects his pitch and he’s like “eh not bad” 🤣
Wow, I had no idea Bill Paxton was the lead singer!
This is his night job
@@zzz11666 HILARIOUS
I always thought it was Moriarty from Sherlock on BBC
cool to see them perform this in the 90's. Thanks for the video
One of my favorites form back then.
then and now Robin the best voice,Gin Blossoms the best band,l love you!!
Wow, I am so impressed they still sound good live.
Perhaps the most underrated band ever, they were; the Beatles of the 90s. Never got the resppect they desrve
Maybe it had something to do with the rest of the band kicked out and bought out the heart, the soul, the nuts, and the guts of the group. They were a shell of themselves without Hopkins.
Well now if there's a Beatles of the 90s it's oasis. Nothing against the blossoms of course. I'm here for a reason after all.

The Big Star of the 70's
Man, they were on fire that night. Some other person posted other songs from that night…excellent 👍

Great song
Great song. under appreciated for sure.
This video is a gem, OMG!!! This song is famous because of the selfishness of what I call 'humans being.'

he had been fired from the band for awhile before he killed himself.

@finance824 I think any man who's had more than 3 girlfriends in his life has lived the lyrics to this song. Welcome to the club my friend.

It's very cool ! The best )
Something about this band. Still
The love I thought I'd won you give for free. 😢
oh to have been there.
Doble Nueve 99fm la radio rock en Lima! 😎🎶🎸
Camera: tilted because: it’s the ‘90s
It'd be cool if they played it fast like on Dusted.
Doug is missing

Me too

Are you rushing or are you dragging?
Is the original band line up?
Sadly, Doug Hopkins had died and replaced by Scott Johnson (himself an amazing guitarist)
yay
anyone know if Doug Hopkins is in this video?
Doug died in 1993. Suicide. Depression. It's a sad story
I do realize. This video's description says "90's" but not what year exactly.

I don't think so, I believe the guy with the long blond hair @0:12 was his replacement, Scott Johnson
Leafs2020 Not. Deceased. RIP.
This is from a PBS show On Tour spring 1996
So jangly....
The Charlatans
Robin is so strung out
So sad
Did he commit suicide?
Doug Hopkins ? Very sadly he did, Just before the band found success.
Okay, great song, not a great job performing it here.....
