He has always had full championship level cardio for straight wrestling, which is actually more taxing. His cardio was always his best aspect of his game.
I feel like since he has such a nice gas tank and can keep such a nice pace he can set the tempo of the match and maybe try to get under jakes skin

The skill is being able to move and land those shots while mitigating your opponents actions. Impressed with his stamina. If I was being picky I'd like him to point his jabbing shoulder a bit more, to add length to his jabs, plus be a little lighter on the back foot as not to block his hips coming through on the cross. On the whole though, he looks nice and sharp.

That’s true, but IMO (and I’m not a boxer/coach in any capacity) I think he needs to keep his hands up more often. Too many times after throwing those combos he doesn’t put his hands back up to protect him, nor is he moving his head off the center line. If he doesn’t improve on that, Jake is gonna start lighting him up.

I love this man, he isn't like this new generation, and the fact that he isn't tired and he is talking to the camera and still hitting the pads is amazing.
Honestly, hitting pads becomes pretty routine after awhile when you train a lot. Sparring is what really takes it out of you. We also used to do these "all out" drill when I was fighting where our trainer who was this hardcore little ex pro japanese guy (straight up from Japan, like you could barely understand him half the time) at the time would just call constant combos to the point where you felt like puking after about 4 minutes. Best coach I ever had and one of the nicest guys I ever met when he wasn't training you.
I feel ya jay, I won 2 Golden Gloves here in Lowell Ma baby. Fought Nationals came up short but I did my diligence. I had a pretty good trainer myself here in Lowell, Brothers Ward and Ecklund. My hateful part about the training was the last minute of each round. 1212121212 non-stop!! Fkn burnt arms...

Ben didn't need to box because it was a complete disadvantage to his MMA style. In any situation where he would he could have boxed his opponent, he already had a better moved prepared that better fit his MMA style. That being said, as competitive as he is- I feel he could become just as great at boxing if he really cared to work on it. Elite athletes like him have a special kind of competitive drive. Ben is more of a favorite than I think many people realize.
