Hi, thank you for sharing your content; your videos are very helpful.
Could you please clarify emergency descent point number 5, specifically regarding the mention of "as required for anti-ice"? From what I understand, the autothrottle automatically adjusts for anti-ice conditions. How can we determine the necessary N1 for anti-ice in this scenario?

Thanks for your comment. That seems a popular question online. Once the anti-ice has been used, TAI is added to the N1 gauges. The "as required for anti-ice" is to ensure enough thrust is produced to cause the anti-ice lights to go dim (sufficient pressure). What that value is seems to differ depending on sources, but somewhere between 30-60% N1 seems to be what people are finding. Ultimately "as required" may be the best answer.

@@pilottutorials Thank you very much for your reply.
It certainly gave me some insight into how much to increase N1 for anti-ice.

We had feedback that the entire procedure should have been a memory item (and examples are available of this online). While it might depend on a particular airline's approved procedures, it's no longer the case that all of the procedure needs memorized. When it comes to jets the only thing that needs to go fast is the airplane! Research was performed that showed that using memory items resulted in more errors than following a checklist, and once the pilots are using oxygen and the checklist followed, a descent can be commenced almost immediately.
