- Howdy guys we got the opportunity to get a wonderful tour through Phoenix mat and meet a great family.. This is what life is all about right here I'm so drawn to these wonderful people and i think you all will be too..

This video was totally awesome Wade, this was great because you spent more time with them thanks for sharing and also the family for allowing you to film.
Why do yall only cut short logs?
I love to here the stories from the old timers most people now days have no idea about hard work. That theses guys had to do in there younger days.
Those toys and such made from wood are tremendous creations- wow!
That little Farmall Cub is still to this day a great tractor for tending a garden.

These types of videos you do are my absolute favorites! Just think of all the hours and thought he puts into those projects. Those are definitely projects of pride and love! Truly enjoyed the video. As you probably thought, sawmill could use a little better housekeeping. The wood working was a treat! The old tractors brought back memories of my dad, as a youngster, on our Ford Ferguson 8N., 1947 model he bought in 1948, the same year I was born.
Got to keep family first,and all those family traditions,keep the old folks in the front of the family!
Fantastic video. What a great treat that had to be. The Ford and little IH tractors I ran them when I was 13 years old in the early 50 s. 🤙🤙

I was 8 maybe 9 years old when my grandpa told me, you gotta learn to drive might as well be today.
I learned to drive on a 1952 8n Ford.

Looks like a nice Wood Mizer mill set up. I used 2 haul 18 foot "Mat Logs" up by Ashland WI, when the tie/lumber markets were lower. But it was 150miles one way. Wish there wuz a "Mat Mill" closer by. U cant even find used mats, in our area.

I work in both a sawmill and a planer mill in Solon Maine. We saw primarily hard maple, we also saw Red Oak, Ash, and Yellow Birch. Mostly 4/4 occasionally thicker. Red Oak by far is the hardest going wood we process especially when it's frozen.
