I have gotten my GB variant of the cycle 7 in "rock" TKD coating. The coating is similar to matrix coating (but a bit smoother) but the sound, feel, and overall aesthetics are unchanged. There will be no follow up video because there is nothing to talk about, it's perfect!
Screwless design is so convenient. I love how you could just pull the case apart whenever you wanted to show internals throughout the review. I think I’m sold
I do like that there's no mounting point right by the spacebar and this board value is spot on. ~$150 for hotswap with a proper screwless design with balls.
I like to record the most accurate sound tests I can. Basically there's no processing except a normalization to -23dB LUFS. The mics pick up pretty much every single noise in the room including switch sounds you wouldn't hear unless your keyboard was about 10 times louder. Try to turn down your audio until the volume of the sound test would match the volume of you normally typing on a keyboard and it should sound as accurate as possible
Do you know why Keycap's studio is called Leek, because it only sells for about $20 in China, and the money in our wallets is like leek growing and he is the sickle😂
At first I wasn't that interested in this because the case design looks extremely boring and uninspired (still is) but everything else about this is perfect and at that price I'm even thinking of getting 2.
I appreciate this review! Random question, I know this color is listed as Void Elf but is this color dark purple? I really want to get this keyboard in this color but also wants to avoid getting a similar color board like the Violet Mammoth75x which I currently own. Thanks!
Leek bros is closer to crp in terms of dyesub than shenpo, or even earlier xmi Molds are not as good as newest xmi, but they're far better than shenpo molds
While I do like the board, I’m more curious about the future of the hobby and especially smaller passion projects Looking forward to the “Real Talk” video
Nice Review i just found your channel because i was interesting in this group buy because i dont own a frl at the moment. i just got my qk80 but damn im gonna join this group buy aswell because this board seems real nice and th-anks to your review you answered my question if this is really worth it. the only thing im still on the fence is the color. yours was the void elf colorway ,yeah ? because on the renders it looks way darker than in the video and i would prefer that (more like a lilac tone), because then the lavender coating (which i kinda wanted to get first because it has also the other coating) would be a too bright for me. Did you see the lavender colorway in person by any chance to maybe confirm or deny my thoughts :P?
The only one I've seen in person was my void elf. It's not dark or light, but sits as a standard comfortable purple ano The B roll shots for my unit are in natural light, and my desk top-down is in studio lighting for reference
This and Amano sale apparently happened on the same day. I went with Amano instead although it's a bit expensive, however, it's in stock. They set a new standard for this. Looking forward to see what they make in the future, and hopeffully it's in my desired size/layout so I could join the buy!
I still greatly prefer the Navi's aesthetics-- but not its price. The Cycle 7 does nothing for me but I do enjoy the idea of cheaper high-end keyboards down the line!
No F row on a TKL. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy!? This was so close to perfect. Almost cancelled my Monsgeek M3 order before I noticed there was no F keys. No I’m not gonna use layers to rage quit and alt-f4 when some 10 year old dunks on me in fortnite.

Simon why you shoot the froge man ?
Wasn't me

Love the no-bullshit in depth analysis of material, finish, construction, etc. Thank you.

0:00 look at that glorious head of hair
Simon is my keyboard friend
good keyboard friend
😂
Good job Simon, no sussy stabs this time.
I really love how you gave details on the finishing quality. Cheers.
thanks for the keycap recommendation, might buy them with my next superbuy haul
Already ordered it from Eloquent
Great great vid mister Simone, especially the screw review
Simone, you had me at best balls !
Love me some balls.
Great review Simon! And those keycaps really match well
What do you think about the MKC75 ?
i am definitely coping this for sure! and the purple on it looks so clean!
Thanks for the in-depth review, i just ordered mine in the same colour today.
I literally said "Butt Plug" in reference to the mounting grommet just before you said "Yes, yes..I know what it looks like".
Sound a bit scratchy sometime. Is is just me?

Where and how can i find these keycaps please? Need the same colorway with purple subtitles

I have like 15 keysets from them, as long as he keeps the prices very fair, I consider them to be one of the best keycap sets for me
@@Blacksimon Leek Bro is pretty famous among hobbyists in China
I'm sadly going to miss out on this one after JUST having bought the Augur 60 R2, I really hope TKD continues to release cool stuff like this
TKD's next board will be a 80% TKL, recently the prototype revealed at a meet-up in China
@@TM-zo1nz Do you happen to know where I could see pictures of the prototype??
@@brusferatu I saw it on QQ chat group, posted by people who went to the meet up, not sure how to send you the pictures
So there will be a round 2 to this video right??
Yup, coming soon tm
Simon, what is your build recommendation on this board ?
Honestly most anything will work great, if you want a challenge, keep the price per switch under 30 cents and get a keyset under 35usd
I choose the same color combination as Blacksimon, and I cannot wait to receive mine😍
Me too, so excited for this board
Such a wild board for the money
Got me the sky coating with the gold weight. Gonna throw some dcx sleeper on it :D
Lmao great video but the ending when you did the sound test, your left thumb was freaking me out. How the hell does it bend like that
This or Geon Frog TKL if they were the same price? 🤔
Frog I guess, there's more material and machining there
GB sold out now? Can’t wait to see the maker-POV implication video. Great job Simon.
Hasn't started yet, should be live today

It's not super dark purple, ballpark Pantone 18-3838
thank you so much!
how is the void elf color compared to the pictures from the manufacturer? Is it darker in person or is it really light?
How would you compare leek brother's kecaps to shenpo's? The look and pricing are similar so wondering which one I should pick
Leek bros is closer to crp in terms of dyesub than shenpo, or even earlier xmi
Molds are not as good as newest xmi, but they're far better than shenpo molds
@@Blacksimon that sounds amazing thank you!
@@Blacksimon Some the Shenpo keycaps, The font has a certain smudge
But I haven't seen that in leek bro or xmi
Thanks for the review. Can't wait to get mine ❤
Just curious, what language key caps are those? The characters that aren’t English letters
Hebrew
room looks so nice now
We've come a long way
Do you know what the front height is? I can’t find it online
It's about 19ish mm just eyeballing it 🤣
While I do like the board, I’m more curious about the future of the hobby and especially smaller passion projects
Looking forward to the “Real Talk” video
great keyboard, very nice sound
God I'm so salty I missed this. I do hope they'll make a 65% tho.

i am a simon-enjoyer. more ball reviews.
is this better then the mode envoy?
Is this ok for beginner to build?
Of course
Can the LED be turned off?
yup, it can be disabled in via
What colour is the weight on the back? Is it the purple one?
Yeah it's the purple pvd option
@@Blacksimon Thanks. If this came out few months ago, I would have gotten it so fast but now I have my QK80, maybe next time

Idk, crimes?
6:42 Definitely Che Guevara in there
What a keyboard review that is not a hour long??
Bamboozled
Black Simon with White Gloves though
