LOVE this reaction. Try "All Nightmare Long". You will lose your minds!
I agree. This song is so underrated.
Talk about nasty, that song is mean af
Talk about nasty, that song is mean af
That whole album is bad ass. Especially the live show in Mexico City
Death Magnetic is criminally underrated.
Never thought watching people hear a song for the 1st time would be entertaining, but yall are dope and I love your take on all genres of music
every day! lol
They're the best!
Yeeaahh
Metallica - one reaction is nnaassty
NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL. I'd rather hear something off of Death Magnetic. All three singles day of release suck, to me they sound like b-sides from st. Anger. Megadeth's new album was definitely sounded better than this
100% y'all need to listen to Metallica's "Bleeding Me."
EDIT: As mentioned in the comments, I do recommend listening to the S&M version which many believe, myself included, is the superior version.
My all time favourite Metallica song
Skal 🍺🍺🍺🍺
So glad I'm not the only one. I've been discovering over the past 3 or 4 years or so that LEGIONS of fans find that to be their unadulterated BEST.
Yes 👍
People talk shit, but I really like Load and Reload. A lot of variety on those 2 albums.
Load and Reload - I could have cried when I heard them in my late teens and early twenties. It wasn’t my Metallica. In my mid-40’s, both albums now make me cry because they’re so good.
Inamorata on the album is simply fantastic
seriously.. i’ve been waiting on these motherfuckers to react to it for a while now.
That is my favorite MetallicA song.....flying the MetallicA flag since Garage day re-revisited and CLIFF EM ALL. Inamorata is currently getting me through rough times.
Def not lol Too commercial for LIV, shit is watered down sounding like a lesser version of a song that would be on the Black album.
Please do this guys :(
@@joshuabennett8110isn’t it insane how good it is?
If you have been a fan of their earliest music, what more could you ask for 40 years later. Still putting out bangers!
@ghost mall Passion, Energy and Creativity... (Lack you said.). I just think exactly the opposite. This song is all Passion, Energy and Creativity.... But, yes, everyone has a different perspective.
@ghost mall Absolutely, paining by numbers, lack of fresh ideas. ‚Temptation … Temptation … Tenptation … Temptation‘ Yawn…
Agreed
@ghost mall make sure you come back and tell everyone how much energy you have when you are 60 years old. No band in history still had new quality music beyond 30 years. And you wanna critique the fact they don’t act like they are 21 lol
@ghost mall never said it was. Doesn’t mean it isn’t still good. That’s like saying LeBron sucks at basketball because he was better 8 years ago smh
this song gets better the more times i hear it
Literally same that’s how it be with every metallica song, especially these three singles from 72 seasons so far. (Not Lulu though)

I had the same reaction @17:28 that they did, this song has transitions like what they used to do......Great song, great reaction
All the albums have something to offer. I love Metallica.
I was literally laughing out loud at 17:28.
Love you, guys
Class of 89 here....This took me back. This had the old school sound. I really like this .
This is the best song of the three that have been released so far, the more I hear it the better it gets!
I knew you guys would appreciate that outro haha Damn fine metalheads you guys have become
James's voice is at its best on all songs so far
Sounds like death magnetic , James voice sounded good I’m that album
It has that gruffness. I hate when he sings with no shouting whatsoever.
I personally hate the way he sings and have been hating it since St. Anger
James' singing saved Lux Aeterna. Would've been a flop otherwise.
Jame’s vocals have been the highlight of this record for me!
the way the guitars sound the way the drums sound everything sounds crisp clean heavy and fast and james vocals sound good man everyone's playing man
Amazing album. Shadows follow, You must burn....all of them
People forget that they're getting older and arent as aggressive as they could be. Metallica is my favorite band and they have variation and are purely unique instead of stuck in one mode
If KISS has taught me anything, it's that whatever era you grew up in is your favorite
THE BOYS ARE BACK!!! I WANT MORE!!! They got the passion back that was missing for a long time!!!
The best of the 3 new singles, so far.
Don't let haters talk too much. Metallica are the fucking best. They write and compose great music, simple or technical. At 60, it is amazing to listen to Hetfield blast out amazing vocals. Lars never gets the respect he deserves
This has Of Wolf and Man vibes written all over it- my faveourite track off that Black album
Mine too
It also kind of sounds like eye of the beholder
no
If Of Wolf and Man and Eye of the Beholder Had a Son
Hear bits of that, and also bits of Eye of the Beholder.
On point review, and I'm really happy that you acknowledged Lars' greatness in this song. His playing is deceiptively simple, but he has so much swagger and power, actually very few drummers can do what he does, contrary to "popular belief".
It’s always funny to me that drummers always say how good he is, but randoms always say how much he sucks lol
@@jjschmidli8896 True. I guess mediocre and ignorant John Does need to feel superior to someone and criticize in order to feel good about themselves ?
@@laporte1625 for sure. We’ve all been on social media long enough to know that’s true😂😂
I think he is very creative. Rarely plays a simple beat: he adds a lot of flavor. His haters are ridiculous
@@imnotanalky exactly! World renowned drummers like Mike Portnoy and Brann Dailor put them in their all time top ten lists. Trolls on the internet say he sucks lol
This song alone can answer the question why they are still one of the greatest band ever exist.
Exactly, and live it will be even better
🇲🇾
why? this song is so bad
@@JacobsKrąnųg Agreed...this whole album sucks.
@@F3502000 both y'all are trolls no one cares
I am SO happy to see you guys still enjoy doing this. You really brighten up my day with this! So much love to you!! :)
The song in general is very good but from the solo to the outro it's something special. You right that ending transition is dummy sick, that rhythm at end just hooks into my bones.
I got tons of Load/Reload vibes from this track. I fucking love those albums. Need to do “The Outlaw Torn” 🤘
EDIT: Your WOOOOOO in unison at 17:28 cracked me up.
Contrary to some opinions, Metallica never went anywhere, they never fell off. They are the most successful metal band of all time. Their true passion is playing live so they don't release albums as frequently as other bands that have been around as long as they have. They sell out venues wherever they go. Their audience contains 70 year olds and 17 year olds. Only heard 3 songs off this album and so far, I feel like they are making music they can play live and sustain over the next several years. Bottom line, I am happy they are still releasing music and can't wait to hear these live. You 2 didn't really like "Battery" but that song comes to life in an entirely different way when played live. Long live Metallica!
As much as I love Metallica (they were the band that got me into metal as an early teen with Master), Reload and especially St. Anger were definitely "fall off" territory. Death Magnetica was an uptick, but Hardwired to Self Destruct didn't do much for their catalogue. In any case, this new album has some good promise.
Contrary to your belief they definitely fell off.
Agreed. Only album i didn't really enjoy much was St Anger but i know quite a few people that love that album.
" If And Justice and Reload had a son... here I am..."
Dude i just laughed out loud... nice one

@@jasonkouches9467 I've already drank both our portions and have ordered a custom $500 craft brew package of Holy Darkness Water IPA🤘
I love how the only way to compare Metallica is to compare them unto themselves. They are and always will be Metallica...and that's it!
One of your best reactions yet. Gotta say, Lost in Vegas + Metallica is still the best for me. Leaving this one on a loop for awhile.
"Room Of Mirrors" is the best track off of the album. Definitely the most complete.
That or too far gone? They’re both amazing tracks.
James vocals have changed a lot over the years. I love his vocals.
I prefer the James from Master of Puppets.
@@thebob01 he had a choice between continuing his old style and… retaining his ability to speak lol
I may be in the minority, but my favorite era of his voice is the Load/reload/garage inc. . still sounds great tho
Man don't listen to the "post Justice" haters. If any other rock band would have released Load or Reload, they would have been called classics. People butthurt too much because they didn't copy/paste their first 3 albums, that's all.
They made their mark, they changed metal, they have their hall of fame entry, there is NOTHING they need to prove anymore.
People expecting a bunch of 60 year olds to put out songs like they were in their 20's, I mean...wtf...
The vast majority of those two albums have never been played live. Load of crap, and left over Reload of crap. Ha!
Yea they are just metal Karens
@@mikehauncho4874 They've played at least 17 of them live I think
I'm listening 30 years and I love this new stuff 🤟🤘🤟🤘
I'm one of the few old school Metallica fans who loves just about everything they put out. My favorite band since 1985. I've seen them 53 times and have tickets to bring me to 57.
I saw them twice and never bothered to again... disappointing both times. Wasn't worth $80 and they played all their ballads...
I grew up on Metallica - they were my #1 band... I expected the juggernaut I saw on the video "Live s%@t: Binge & Purge"... and I got Garth Brooks in a metal band without a cowboy hat... And I certainly did not want to hear 'Nothing else matters' live both times... Kid Rock opened the first one I saw... (UGH!) and Limp Bizkit opened the other (BLEAH!) Was Machine Head or Dio unavailable??? 🤧
I had more fun seeing Slayer, Pantera, Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, etc.
I had the same reaction seeing Manowar in concert... just awful performance... Red Hot Chili Peppers were great, but only played 1-and-half hours for $90... I saw Stryper live and they impressed me more!
U wanna see a great metal band? Check out Flotsam & Jetsam in concert (former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted's old band) ... I went to see them open for Testament - no one knew them, but they whole club just went berserk after just 2 songs and their merch was almost sold out that night... everyone was buying their CD 'Ugly noise'.
We need 90’s Metallica reactions from our boys Lost in Vegas!
They have a couple, check their older videos
Definitely! Bleeding me, Outlaw Torn, Devil’s Dance.
@@facelessandnameless it’s definitely gotta be Devils Dance or something with groove. King Nothing or Ain’t My Bitch.
To me, this song sounds almost like what we’d get if Metallica immediately swerved back to their Black Album sound after Load. Parts of the song sound directly taken from Load (like the guitar hang after the intro, sounds like the opening to King Nothing, some of the vocal work sounds like Load/Reload) while the instrument sound (especially the bass) and the song structure is closer to Black Album.
I think it’s hard to fully appreciate a song like this if you’re someone who grew up with Metallica and keep crossing your fingers to feel the magic you felt when you first discovered them. But I think this song, if it were released by just about any other band, would be treated with a lot more respect than it’ll be given because it’s Metallica.
Also, PLEASE do Bleeding Me. It’s one of Metallica’s best songs overall and it’s on Load. I think it’ll be one of those songs that sneaks up on you, maybe you won’t feel it at first but by the end, when the song it taken as a whole, you’ll feel much differently.
More like what should have come out after AJFA and before the Black Album
There's more than a little Death Magnetic in this one, too. I specifically hear "The Day that Never Comes."
Personally, I haven't been thrilled by any of the singles from this new album. They all sound like retreads, and they're all so damn long (and this coming from someone with a friggin Joanna Newsom pfp that used to be an Opeth pfp...).
I have thought exactly the same thing about so many Metallica songs - "If any other band had made this..." Metallica has the best and worst fans of any band in history. You are so right about the music being tied into nostalgia for lost teen years. I'm about the same age as the band so have been there for the whole journey. I guess I grew and evolved with them because I haven't been mad at anything they have put out (especially when hearing it live). The songs off Load and Reload are some of my favorites. I like Death Magnetic and am always amped when they play All Nightmare Long or The Day That Never Comes. HWTSD was great. I like these new ones so far too. However, I had so many idiot friends who burned their Metallica shirts when the Black Album came out, who ran over Load CD's with their cars lol. Met "fans" are an odd bunch. I do go to a LOT of shows and it always makes me laugh when The Memory Remains gets played. They whole crowd keeping that ending melody going forever and I KNOW those are some of the same people that called it trash.
Bleeding Me is in the top 3 for Metallica songs for me. Great lyrics, excellent musicianship, and one of James’ best vocal performances if not his best.
@chim-choo-ree Yes, it has some modern Metallica in it too.
I’m in love with this whole album
Their in their 60s. It’s an evolution of all their years. Theirs Kill em all in there. Load/reload. I love Slayer but every album doesn’t need to be reign in blood. Solid new songs. Life changing? No. Solid. I hope I’m still this good at what I do when I’m 60. Metallica are the Goats.
Lars’ whole mantra post Black Album has been “make the music swing”. He is always about the groove and making song have a great rhythm and pulse. He also plays on the back-beat which gives it a particular sound as well. I think all those Jazz records that his old man was listening to in his youth rubbed off on him. Great reaction guys! Hopefully you will do more once the album drops. 🤘🏼
Loved it guys! That's why I keep following you after all these years
The best reaction i saw to this Metallica theme 😌 Congrats dudes! Cheers from Portugal!
The drumming is better so it makes the song better....he's actually doing fills and mixing it up with halftime which makes the song much more immersive and impactful!
I Agree that the drums sound cool and has different parts, but there are not fills in this song ..just change of tempo and the " Eye of the Beholder double bass" part.
@@victorherrero4790 No there are fills. Mostly snare rolls, but some toms in there too.
@@NandR very few man...Lars went really minimalistic in this song. Very few snare rolls, a few toms. The song could have been way better with more fancy drumming.
Really enjoyed this song, James’ vocals reminded me of the Load era. Also loved Georges basketball analogies. I highly recommend No Leaf Clover y’all would love it. The TOOL fan in me also wants a Vicarious reaction soon plz😂
Crown of Barbed Wire off their new album is heavy and nasty!! Y'all would definitely dig that one
They could of had this on Load. By far the hardest song off of this album and the drop closer to the end is stellar!
"This is Wizards Jordan" was an excellent analogy. I'd say Metallica's still putting up 20 a game.
Honestly yeah. A lot of people have this idea that Jordan was washed on the wizards, but he was still amazing and leading the team to the playoffs before injuries.
I like this song
Trust me this is going to be straight up fire live,Metallica still kick ass even though they are nearly in their 60s
Source? Trust me bro.
@@moondawwg if you know, you know bro
They're not quite in their 60's yet! (Only Kirk, who is 60)
@@jochencooper2751 No bro they truly suck live. And i mean high school band kinda suck. They have been the laziest triple A band since the late eighties.
@@Hoscitt oh sorry in their 59 and a half's then, my bad
I love how even 40 years after Kill em All they still have immense quality in their work. 40 years is a LONG time, and they’re waaaaay older now, but they’re still killing it. They gunna fuck around and be as old as The Rolling Stones and still touring and making music and I’m here for it. I love how much y’all love Metallica. Keep being great guys!
Metallica albums (basically post-Justice) that haven't been touched on the channel:
Load (Bleeding Me, Until It Sleeps, The Outlaw Torn, Ain't My Bitch, Hero of the Day, King Nothing, Mama Said)
Reload (Fuel, The Memory Remains, Unforgiven II, Devil's Dance, Fixxxer)
S&M (No Leaf Clover and Minus Human)
Death Magnetic (Cyanide, All Nightmare Long, The Day That Never Comes, Unforgiven III)
Metallica fans who only like thrash don't like these albums at all, but only because it's not trash. The only reason these albums are trashed on is because it's not what the first albums sound like. It's not a bad thing that it's different. There's some really good music here.
There are bangers on all of those that deserve a listen.
If I had to choose a select few for y'all:
Bleeding Me
The Outlaw Torn
Fuel
No Leaf Clover
The Day That Never Comes
All Nightmare Long
id add suicide and redemption to DM it is a masterpiece IMO
@@brianthiebold that's true, very underrated
I introduced my now 13y/o daughter to Metallica a few years back, and she loved them. Now I played this song, and just the beginning made her smile so big. Playlist addition for sure, for both of us.
Been listening to Metallica since the early 80’s one of my favs but doesn’t mean I’m gonna like every song the put out so far out of the 3 new songs they put out this is the best one and seeing then live you will not be disappointed they sound just as good
Thankfully Metallica are one of the few bands you can get more excited about hearing a live version of a new song compared to the studio version. I bet this one will be 🔥.
Kings of Music….period 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
S&M Version of Bleeding Me!! Not only my favorite Metallica Song, but one of my favorite songs in General. The meaning behind it is deep, or at least how I perceive it. (99 Woodstock Version is a banger too)
Before I even watch the reaction I have to say I'm loving the song more with each listen. Just sticks in my head.
To a Metallica purist, I agree with you.
Love this song.
After the Black Album they lost the plot, but I think Death Magnetic was nice return to form.
A lot of people simple hate on them because it is "the thing to do at this point."
These guys need to listen Death Magnetic! So underrated IMHO
Load and Reload are good albums. This song, however, sucks ass.
@@K1ng69Floyd I did and It's really not that good. I don't hate on them, but even this new song is a bit uneventful, imo.
They will probably never top their first 5 albums and that's ok.
@@lenni-hazels not many bands could. That was probably the best run of albums of any 80s/90s rock/metal act. I just wholly disagree with the notion that the mid 90s and early 2000s stuff was bad.
You realize the hate is coming from diehard fans right? It's not the thing to do. It's just that Death Magnetic is far inferior to any of the first 4 albums. It's not even up for debate. You don't think the diehards actually want something incredible from Metallica?
LETS GO GUYS SO GLAD YOU GOT TO THIS!!
This song has a "Wherever I May Roam" feel to the main riff.
Reminds me of Broken, Beat, & Scarred
Your reaction to the last transition into halftime is superb 🤣🤣. This song pops, no matter what era of Metallica you love
As someone who does in fact think Metallica fell off, this song does nothing for me. Sounds like more Death Magnetic (which is an ok album but nothing special)
That was a classic Lost In Vegas transition reaction at the end there. love it haha
17:19 that guitar stretch sounds evil.....like that sound in Psycho the movie. I remember Aerosmith used that to open their concerts with the stage lit up in red strobe lights. I hope Metallica does this live with some evil lighting.
Fucking love this reaction 😂 exact same reaction I had on first listen. That nasty bottom end riff that keeps coming back in is just a thing of beauty.

17:28 is the best part of this video ! 😂
Really hope y’all react to some songs off of Death Magnetic (the album before Hardwired) one day as others have mentioned before this album was a return to their roots while still sounding fresh at the time.
Yea this song marked the moment I got excited for the new album, feels like something off black album with the percussion and I can’t get enough of it ❤.
Great review thats the love this music pulls everyone together
That's my favorite of the 3 new tracks released so far. It's for sure an ear worm. I've been humming it for a week straight.
So happy you liked this. When you react to Metallica I get so pumped.
It’s a great Song!! I lIke it a lot!!
Lars grew up on jazz music and within the jazz community so a lot of his fills and licks come from jazz influence. His dad was really into the scene. Lars’s godfather is actually Dexter Gordon, jazz saxophonist and composer. Lars has a very creative out of the box mind, he doesn’t get a lot of credit for it probably because he’s not the most polished drummer but he’s made some of the most bad ass songs.
LARS RULES

Great to see proper appreciation for Metallica and not focusing on trying to compare it to previous stuff to see if you like it or not. It is what it is, great job!
I've watched these dudes go from not knowing who Metallica is.....to becoming Metallica experts and it's fucking awesome
It's great to see James using lyrics from the discarded presidio sessions

72 Seasons is Metallica's best album since the Black album. Every song in the album is just great. You can hear that they were inspired. What started with Death Magnetic, and continued with Hardwired, they have accomplished with 72 Seasons. Metallica is officially back 100%.
A TOTAL BANGER!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ENTHUSIASM!!! KILLER VIDEO!!!

Probably.
Room of Mirrors of 72 Seasons Album is a masterpiece
When you first paused and said "I feel like I've heard this little riff somewhere before, maybe a movie" .... You have. It's the same riff from The Shortest Straw (tweaked) off of the Justice album. The entire song is Shortest Straw 2.0 and you can sing this chorus over that song.
Tbh you can sing almost any metallica chorus over any other song cause like 90% of their songs are just riffs in E standard
I think you are highlighting their lazy songwriting lol.
I got the same vibes from that riff as well!
