I have FSD V13.2.1 and FSD is getting so good at normal driving tasks that most of these channels are getting to be rather boring. I'm glad to see vids like this that safely try to find the limits. I don't recall seeing any flashing blue screen warnings or anything at all unsafe in your driving. It would be nice to know more about what the screen render shows, when it shows it and why. The delay in displaying things that the eye can see is interesting.
The visualization delay could be due to the confidence level of the AI. Even if the cameras can "see" the lights at the same distance, the fog could be reducing the confidence, thus they're not being displayed. It's possible the car would still react appropriately (which is why you asked about what happens at 80mph, of course).
I kind of assume that rendering items on the screen is lower priority than reacting to them so I’m not sure you can assume that the car doesn’t “see” things before you… My experience is that the car frequently reacts to things before I see them.
You raise a question i have had for a while. Is the delay between the human eye seeing the object and it showing in the FSD visualization really the human eye seeing farther? Or is it that the visualization only displays so far ahead in distance? For example in low light like just before sunrise a camera or binoculars see much better than the human eye. My hunch is that the Tesla cameras are better than my eyes. Another good video. 4:18
It doesn't work in heavy rain, that's for sure, and the FSD on a clear day will miss exits on the highway. I'm hoping that I get an update soon. I'm on 12.5.4.2
ty for adding christmas music
I sure hope they give you the very first download of 13.2.2 for HW3. No one deserves it more than you….. and then a few hundred thousand others.🤣
