Shoot hanging braziers to make them drop down onto the enemy. Throw water bottles to get enemies wet then use cold and or electric spells on these wet enemies for great damage. Make use of wizard grease spells or grease bottle grenades to then ignite for fire damage. You are doing well.

Perform side quests to earn XP and gain gold to buy good gear to be more formidible and gain levels to defeat the tougher enemies. Find your other companions in each act. Good luck

Ooh 😬. You've kinda rushed to the section before act two and you're missing 3 party members. You're also way under powered to be where you are right now which is why battles are such a slog.
What you've been doing so far affects things that will happen in the future and if certain characters are there or not. Now there's nothing wrong with that if you're not bothered, you could always choose different options next time you play and things will be different. It has great Replay ability.
Just thought I'd mention this if you want to make the most out of the game/make it more enjoyable. The best option is to reload at the beach or you can go back to it if you're ok with your decisions so far. Then explore the map from the bottom up. You seem to get kinda distracted when playing. It's best to pay attention to the things you read, explore everywhere and interact with every NPC you can. There's a diary in game to keep you on track too.
Sorry for waffling on, feel free to ignore everything I said 😆. Just thought I'd help out since it's such a great game.
It IS a great game! I finally found 2 party members, stay tuned for future episodes to see which ones. :)
