I am from Madurai. And very excited to see Chithirai Thiruvizha after nearly 35 years through this program. Honestly very disappointed. There is so much of beautiful details about Meenakshi Kalyanam and Alagar that are there. Beautiful cultural lore. But the program big time missed out on all that and picked only the superfluous symptomatic. Turns out I live in Gary's home town and for all the pomp and pageantry he showed in his Master Chef program back then, he totally fizzled out ..! 🤭 Oops Gary. Is that all ..? Meh.

Still many scientific reasons are behind it. I can't explain it here everything. For gopuram kalasa have seeds , rice , millets etc because if there is any huge flood or any big disaster, whole crop in field would get destroyed so they take those seed, grains from gopuram kalasa and do agriculture again. Those act as lighting arrester too. Today we don't practice that much

Unfortunately, the marriage proceeds without him, angering Lord Alagar, who returns home without attending. According to legend, on his return journey, he stops by his Muslim friend's house. Many of us still jokingly hold a grudge against Lord Meenakshi for not waiting for her brother ‼️😂🤣😂🤣

If you are closely involved with the temple and visit it daily, it's important to eat only vegetarian food and maintain cleanliness. Including non-vegetarian street food, like Madurai Bun Parotta & Chicken gravy etc., felt out of place and awkward in this context. It would have been better to feature such dishes in a separate video dedicated to Madurai's culinary specialties.
