My family got evacuated a month later from Mazar Sharif. I still remember we all had tears of joy and fear. Luckily, everything went well. Now my sisters are going to university. A dream that my family was lucky enough to live. We cannot thank enough the heroism and bravery of everyone involved in the process. They revived hope and faith in humanity, even when there was little glimmer of light.
You and your family especially your sisters are incredibly lucky to have gotten out of Afghanistan. Your sisters continuing their schooling while the Taliban just announced that Afghan women can no longer continue theirs is a blessing.
That’s wonderful to hear. I wish you and your family so much good luck, and happier times to come. If you choose to, I do wish you are one day able to return to a safe home! I’m so sorry this has happened.

He lost me at Democrat politician, oh gosh. The disaster of withdrawal was the inconvenience of the Democrat Biden's administration. The woke far left policies have no place for our country. Surprised as a military, he connected with the disaster of Democrat party.
You actually believe this US Military vet who was a "rising star in the Democratic Party" acted as a "civilian" and got 380 Afghan citizens out of the country and into the US jsut with the help of other US civilians? NOT A CHANCE...this was a State Department operation maybe CIA too. There is NO way he would have gotten the approval to bring in 280 Afghans without the State Departments approval and most likely the White house's approval. There is more to this story that 60 mins is hidding from citizens. Its a con game. Ask the question: What is the connection of these 380 people (the men) to the US govt & intelligent agency.
Do you know what stands out the most in this story? It's the moment when his kids were able to connect and bond with the other children so effortlessly. That speaks volumes about the man who rescued them. It truly says a lot about his character. May the universe be kind to you, my friend.
On the other hand it speaks volumes that a private citizen along with other non governmental citizens used their own money to help rescue US assets that helped us, meanwhile it took a year for the US government to even grant them asylum. I'm honestly shocked Republicans didn't try to jail the man for human trafficking.
@BornE-V13 I understand that you are saying that there is no credit mentioned or given to the Albanian government for allowing these refugees to stay? I agree there should have been an acknowledgement.
Sometimes when I wanna completely give up on humanity someone like Jason shows up. What an angel. I am just appalled that someone with a huge heart and a certitude had to do this rather than our own government. This was a herculean act of selflessness.
What the story didn’t tell is that Jason plays center field for the KC Hustlers old man competitive baseball. I have the privilege to be his teammate, turned brother. Our whole team was on the edge our seats during that season, praying for them to come home. The day when they came to watch us play baseball and watch Jason in centerfield was one of the greatest memories of my life. Next time you speak to Jason, please tell him that there are many of us around the world who are grateful for his extraordinary act of selflessness and heroism. I'm a British veteran and I served in Afghan, alongside our American allies. When it became clear that there would be a withdrawal, I started tracking down the interpreters I had worked with and all managed to get out. But we were also helped by so many incredible Afghani people, in such a wide range of ways. My heart is heavy every time I think of them, wondering what became of them, and knowing that they must have suffered for their belief in a better Afghanistan. Knowing that some got out through efforts like this is so uplifting. I thank Jason wholeheartedly for the peace of mind he has given to many of us with this Herculean effort. For anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of dealing with Afghanis, they're incredible people - resilient, witty, kind, generous, and smart. They deserve so much better than a Taliban-run hell-hole.
I have a similar experience getting my former interpreter and his family out of Afghanistan. A total nightmare going on 3 years. But luckily they are out of Afghanistan, and should all be in the US with their SIVs in the next few weeks. This is a crazy process, but seeing other success stories warms my heart. I also cannot give up on them.

As an Afghan, I cannot thank Jason and his entire team enough for their help, support, evacuation efforts, and facilitation of vulnerable people during the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan. Your efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of so many. Thank you!

Jason Kander has one of the biggest hearts to ever exist. I live in Missouri and am proud of his efforts. I also watch him on Wednesday afternoons on The Meidas Touch Network.
Thank you Jason, you are a devoted & honorable man. All the time, money & effort you spent to rescue Raheem & his family will be rewarded 12 times over. I hope Raheem & his family thrive in America & follow your lead to become successful & noble American citizens.
This absolutely needs to be turned into a movie. Thank you Jason for all that you did - and all those who invested in this project, thank you too. And to the brave men, women and children who risked everything down to life and limb to get out of there - welcome to the US, warriors.
Tears in my eyes. Everyone in this story is amazing. Wish I’d known about this effort so I could’ve helped to donate - I felt and still feel so much guilt towards the Afghans the U.S. left behind.
Me too I’ve felt the guilt and powerlessness. If there is another rescue planned, is there some way people can be notified “BELLA?” So we could donate $/admin help etc?
Over the years, I've enjoyed 60 Minutes. They report stories with substance, but this one hands-down is one of the best stories ever! What a powerful story! It proves that there are good, caring people in the world. God bless Jason, his family, the donors, and the Afghan family!
These people, the refugees, are absolutely amazing! Thanks to people like Jason, they have a chance at a safe life! Thank you to all for what you have done.
As a career military family of over 25 years service, we are so grateful to everyone involved in this tremendous effort to bring these brave families to the US. My husband worked with some amazing people while deployed and he had many interpreters, security, Iraqi soldiers and others that helped the US Military. They risked their lives daily on behalf of Soldiers like my husband. He has always worried for those left behind. ❤
Jason, wow! WOW! Please let me salute your parents for raising such an incredible human being filled with compassion. You have my vote any day! Cheers from California! ❤🤍💙
This means alot to me. I worked alongside some of the best afghan soldiers who betrayed their country for ours. Seeing everything that was happening in real time was so hard to watch. The guys I worked alongside with had horror stories of what they've seen and did to save lives. They did everything they could do to bring their daughters, parents, and siblings here. Some brought the females in their family only because the males didn't stand with them. These men gave me more respect than any American man I worked with then. They protected me at the young age of 23 at the time from guys who had wrong intentions and wouldn't leave me alone. I'm not sure you'll ever see this Jason, but what you did speaks volumes about the type of man you are. Thank you for not forgetting. If you ever went back in office, you'd have my vote.
What a beautiful story. Jason and all of his partners in this 'mission' are absolutely the BEST part of humanity. It's nice to see that there are still some stand-up human beings left in this crazy world. XOX From Ireland
May God bless Jason, and all the donors who pulled this off. Brings me to tears to know people like Jason and his team care so much. Heart warming. That final message from Jason speaks volumes. Yes, what they go through to get to America is heroic.
There really are some diamonds in the rough. Bless those people who went above and beyond to save all those Afghani people. Jason, you're a real superhero ❤
Im not an American but that heroism is beyond amazing, he paid loyalty with loyalty, if America fails to honor its promises to its alies then no one should trust Americans, but this guy and his friends banded together to plan the greatest escape in human history
I understand the dismay you feel now, but I promise you there are more Americans who want what you want than those who don't. Just now, unfortunately, we have been bamboozled into fascism. You know what they say, "Americans always do the right thing, after they have tried everything else!"
Out of this whole story it was the part where he was talking about being thankful to see his kids sleeping peacefully and getting to go to school that got to me most. Wow.
Awesome! My cousin from Hawaii retired as Kaneohe Marine Base Fire Chief and joined forces in Afghanistan rebuilding and helping the people!! He brought home a huge coffee table picture book of the beautiful Afghanistan people including so many children living in crippling poverty! By the grace of god 🙏 🙌 these people are still alive😢😢❤
I work with afghans parolees and refugees and the love, appreciation and friendship that us military soldiers and their translators or afghan contracts is so incredible. Also, afghans are some of the sweetest most kind people I’ve met. ❤
This is what honor looks like. So grateful to have all these people - Jason, the fundraisers and donors, and our new Afghani neighbors - as our fellow countrymen.
This made me really emotional and really grateful! We as Americans are so lucky and like Jason said in the piece, every American should get to know these people because they are good people just looking for a better life for their kids to live in. My problems are trivial in comparison to this!
I grew up in one of the most hostile refugee camp in the world and understand what it means running away from a conflict. The man did great work for this family
What a story! I just saw the fictional movie ‘Covenant’ based on an Afghan interpreter and his American Sergeant ’ but this true story is so beautiful. This needs 10 M views
Years ago, I worked in downtown KC at the same bank Rahim now works. It really is that small of a world. Incredible effort. Many thanks to Jason and everyone who didn't give up on fulfilling our promise.

Beautiful. A wedding is a union between families. Those families were saved together and will wlways have a union. Best occasion for a wedding ever this was truly brilliant. Now if some rich network could show some interest and put it to film that would be amazing
Jason and all those who helped him are true humanitarians. He couldn’t have helped a better guy. I can just imagine how terrifying it was to receive a night letter from the Taliban. Rahim and his family are great immigrants for America. I wish them and the other Afghan immigrants well.
Chartering an A340 is insane logistics for a now private citizen. I'm thankful my brothers translator from Iraq made it to America after MANY letters of endorsement. I'd love for them to meet up again.

Thank you Jason. You have restored many people's hope in humanity. Best thing I've ever watched on UA-cam thus far. 60 Minutes you have redeemed yourself. We should raise money to fund more flights out and maybe Afghanistans largest wedding.
I've absolutely no relation to anyone in this video or situation. But I am so extremely grateful to Jason and his team and everyone who donated so that they could help all of these people. Also, thank you to the people who have produced this video and raised awareness to this topic.
This soldier and a man makes me proud to be a human being and even more an American. Jason and people like him ARE the reasons the world looks up to Americans, and I mean that very much.
I had the honour of meeting an Afghan lady at work. She was the only female working for Australia. She and her husband both worked together as translators. She was amazing. Totally retraining and studying. All her other ex colleagues (6 others) are alone in Australia except her and her husband. They never know when they will see their family and friends again. Such an incredibly talented lady. She was also very beautiful and humble.
Jason is incredible! I’ve heard an interview of him speaking about his mental health struggles and his work on giving the VA and veterans more access to mental health services. He’s done so much good for America. He’s the type of politician America actually needs.

As an Afghan, I cannot thank Jason and his entire team enough for their help, support, evacuation efforts, and facilitation of vulnerable people during the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan. Your efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of so many. Thank you!
Jason - I don't know you, but boy oh boy... Do I want to give you a hug for what you did for this family?? Amazing. Simply Amazing. You my friend have the blessing from millions.
Can I get a hug 🥺🥺
The world needs more people like Jason !!My adopted son name is also Jason meaning a Healer..am extremely proud of Jason that he justified his name💞God bless you brother.

Jason Kander has one of the biggest hearts to ever exist. I live in Missouri and am proud of his efforts. I also watch him on Wednesday afternoons on The Meidas Touch Network.
@@twistoffate4791 So many of us are still left out here
thank you for that info...I didn't know he was on meidas.

U are probably the kindest person the world has offered Jason and we thank God for that
Over the years, I've enjoyed 60 Minutes.
Fantastic way to start my day, being reminded of how wonderful human beings can be. Even had a bit of a cry. Thank you!
Even a bit of a cry? Maam I'm bawling my eyes out 😭
Jason is a loyal and a true patriot & a hero! Thank you for your seẻvice!
I almost cried watching this. Thank you so much. I sure loved this story. They are all real heroes. Welcome to America!
So many of us are still left out here
As a career military family of over 25 years service, we are so grateful to everyone involved in this tremendous effort to bring these brave families to the US. My husband worked with some amazing people while deployed and he had many interpreters, security, Iraqi soldiers and others that helped the US Military. They risked their lives daily on behalf of Soldiers like my husband. He has always worried for those left behind. ❤
Jason and the team!!! Thank you for helping this family and I can’t wait for this to be a Hollywood or an independent movie in 2025 and will watch it
What an amazing success story! I once had an Afghan Uber driver. We talked like crazy. Now I know what he and his family went through. Thank you!
Jason, wow! WOW! Please let me salute your parents for raising such an incredible human being filled with compassion. You have my vote any day! Cheers from California! ❤🤍💙
So many of us are still left out here
This means alot to me.
Because of people like Jason helps me continue with hope in humanity they r very good people in this world may God continue blessing them
May God bless Jason, and all the donors who pulled this off. Brings me to tears to know people like Jason and his team care so much. Heart warming. That final message from Jason speaks volumes. Yes, what they go through to get to America is heroic.
Jason is a hero and it’s people like him that we need in politics. Thanks god the entire family got out and they are safe.
What a story... Jason you are unbelievable. ❤❤
Jason, his wife, and all of the people involved in helping these people are good humans and hero’s. Love this so much❤
Absolutely amazing. Especially when you consider it was all planned and carried out from across the planet.
Oh wow, this made me cry. Thank you to Jason and the individuals who helped save those 300+ people. ❤
A True American Hero, thank you Jason Kander!
This is a real refugee… he was escaping from being hurt from a war torn country… he’s a good man and an amazing family.
I work with afghans parolees and refugees and the love, appreciation and friendship that us military soldiers and their translators or afghan contracts is so incredible. Also, afghans are some of the sweetest most kind people I’ve met. ❤
This is like Argo, Afghan version. Bless everyone!
God bless men and women like these who put their lives on the line to create a better future for tomorrow

JASON KANDER is one hell of a great person. BRAVO and CONGRATULATIONS!!
An incredibly inspiring true story. Just amazing. Deepest respect, and thank you.
We left so many behind in the wars we abandoned. I can’t see why anyone would help us in any war going forward.
Those left behind are already lost causes...
This left me in tears...what a story! Thank you for sharing this! Aloha from Maui
This is what honor looks like. So grateful to have all these people - Jason, the fundraisers and donors, and our new Afghani neighbors - as our fellow countrymen.
What a beautiful and a heartwarming story!
I’m glad I took the time to watch it, with happy tears in the end.
Jason, is truly an American hero. 🙌🏽🏆

I want to cry right now. There are good people here. Still. May God bless you and all who were involved.
May God bless JASON, HIS FAMILY, TEAM & DONORS!!
This brought tears.
I'm so glad that you persisted in helping those Afgani people.

Don’t call them afghani they were sold out
Sorry c I a you are field
Thank you Jason uncle for your big heart and service . Wishing you many blessings
This made me really emotional and really grateful! We as Americans are so lucky and like Jason said in the piece, every American should get to know these people because they are good people just looking for a better life for their kids to live in. My problems are trivial in comparison to this!
Why am I crying😭 Kudos to the team who made this rescue possible. To all the Afghani saved, I'm happy for you❤
I grew up in one of the most hostile refugee camp in the world and understand what it means running away from a conflict. The man did great work for this family
Now this my friend is a man with honor, love and integrity. May he never need anything in life. May his wife and his marriage grow over time.
One of 60 Minutes best stories! God bless all the people in this story! 🙏🏼
What a story! I just saw the fictional movie ‘Covenant’ based on an Afghan interpreter and his American Sergeant ’ but this true story is so beautiful. This needs 10 M views
Remarkable. Combat veteran with 1 tour in Iraq. Thank-you Jason ❤🎉
I had tears rolling when he said he received the approval. God bless Jason and everyone who made it happen.
In order to save a family he almost lost his own! That’s a true American Patriot! God bless you Sir!
Salam 🫂
could you please explain how did he almost lost his own? I'm not sure I caught that watching this.
@ he was going not knowing if he’d be killed. And if he got killed that means he would loose his family.
Years ago, I worked in downtown KC at the same bank Rahim now works. It really is that small of a world. Incredible effort. Many thanks to Jason and everyone who didn't give up on fulfilling our promise.
A great story. Yet a great tragedy for thousands not so fortunate. Peace on earth good will to all men.🕊️🕊️🕊️
As an Afghan girl I want to thank you from bottom of my heart Jayson. It brought me to tears and reminded me of the incredible power of humanity and compassion. People like you give me faith in the goodness of the world. Thank you for your selflessness and for being a beacon of hope to so many.
Thank you Jason Kander. As a former Kansas Citian, you make me proud of my Midwestern values.
Thank you Mr. Jason, for your compassionate service for being a humane human being.😊
Chartering an A340 is insane logistics for a now private citizen.
I'm thankful my brothers translator from Iraq made it to America after MANY letters of endorsement. I'd love for them to meet up again.
I followed his campaign, even though I am a Michigander. Hearing him is to hear compassion and genuine nature. This special has solidified that for me as well.
It’s a shame that Jason and his cohorts had to do what the American government failed to do.
Absolutely agree.
That's what I was thinking
You should look into that some more.
Can you fail at something you were never really trying to do?
@@ericdwhitmorec Great point!
Thank you Jason. You have restored many people's hope in humanity. Best thing I've ever watched on UA-cam thus far. 60 Minutes you have redeemed yourself. We should raise money to fund more flights out and maybe Afghanistans largest wedding.
This really touched my soul! Thank God.
This needs to be made a movie, i teared up watching this. Thank you to everyone that helped in this operation ❤
As an afghan I say thank you Jason! people like you are great example of braveness, kindness and loyalty.
Thank you so much Jason for the big help and also those who were involved. The story was really touching.
Love radiates from Raheem… I don’t know how else to say it. Thank you, Jason and thank you everyone who helped.❤❤❤
Jason and his team are a modern day Schindler. God bless them with every blessing. 🙏
Jason is incredible! I’ve heard an interview of him speaking about his mental health struggles and his work on giving the VA and veterans more access to mental health services. He’s done so much good for America. He’s the type of politician America actually needs.
How brave selfless and committed… we can all learn from this beautiful story ❤
Wow! What an incredible story. I am so glad everyone arrived safely in America. "Thank you Jason Uncle", made me cry!
7:39 "Thats what I saw..little Diana" 😭😭 I felt that.
