- Guide to maintaining a low energy (low tech) Nano Aquascape covering all the tasks performed each week on this 45cm scape. Maintenance time each week is approximately 30-45 minutes.
This scape was set up 2 months ago in our Aquascaping showroom without using CO2. We have chosen easy undemanding plants from Tropica Aquarium Plants that can cope well without CO2 injection and thrive under lower light.
✅ No CO2, low light and low fertilization = LOW MAINTENANCE! ✅
I hope you enjoy this short insight into our weekly aquascape maintenance.

Great scape and superb job keeping this no-CO2 Low Energy scape maintained. Way to be a top example for aquarium stores all around the world.
Thanks Andrew really nice of you to say 😊 and thanks for watching 👍
Nice two months update

Great composition of wood and dragon stone!👍🏻😀 How many ml of Tropica Specialised Nutrition do you dose weekly?
What is your advice on lighting? I have a 35L tank, want to add simple easy plants without CO2
Awesome
What are those clear filters hanging in the aquarium called ?
How often to add fertiliser as one part says 1 pump every 2 days and other says weekly? Thanks
I almost find it hard to believe that this is non CO2. My non co2 setups plants have holes on their leaves. They're growing, but struggling. And yours is so lush. WOW
The same, i actually hard to believe that it is non co2 tank
Maybe i looked over it but what is the hardware? Did i see a Oase Filtosmart Thermo (100)? And the lighting is what type?
Do you still need to dose anti chlorine for planted tank even tho no fish or shrimp inside?
you need Dechlorinator. but I think I can see some chili rasboras !!!
hey man, I grow only anubias and bucephilandra. I have great surface agitation in my 20g tank and I use DIY yeast Co2. Do you think since my surface agitation high, is it gasing off co2 from the tank before my plants take it ?? because I see no improvement in my plants. what's your opinion DIY co2 yeast ?? should I stop using diy yeast co2 ??
Scape looks so natural and beautiful 🤩
Thanks Michael 🙏
I know this is a newbie question (sorry), but when I watch all these videos, I don't see a heater. I understand that the filter is an external filter, but how are these nano tanks heated? I read that plants need warmer water, though I used to have a shrimp tank that was not heated and they did really well in that.
This is stunning! Do you sell the tanks in the UK already set up with plants or are you just showcasing what can be done? I’d like a beginner set up so something like this would be ideal.
Hi,very nice my friend👌,how much tds,kh,gh your water?
Hi Dave, could you tell me the dimensions of the tank please...👍🏼
It’s 45x27x30 👍
These are wonderful videos with great music and a lot of tips. I like your scapes a lot.
How often did you do water changes in the first couple of weeks?
Hi Dave can u list the plants used in this aquascape
beautiful tank Dave. that tube baster idea is very creative. You should trade mark it!!!! lol great video. thanks for sharing.
I learnt it from Dennis Wong, so credit to him! Glad you enjoyed the video 😊👍
Great idea to attach the turkey baster! I'll be trying that 😁
Great trick 👍😊
Something beautiful 👍 Greetings from Poland.
Nice video! Loved the set up video of this also. Question: What is the KH on your planted tanks?
Nice video! Thanks!
WHat is your system to refill water?
Looks like he had a regular plastic filter intake pipe with a hose connected to the tap.
Yep 👍 use Seachem Prime before you add water
Any great informative vid.
Q: Any reason why you place the inlet/outlet pipes at the front rather then discreetly towards the rear? Thanks
Mandria73 better flow. Inlet pipes would likely get caught up with plant leaves and whatnot in the back or may not fit at all. Outlet in front for similar reasons and also to not push the rear stems/plants like crazy. Since the pipes are glass, it doesn’t distract too much from the aquascape as well.
Hi Andrew, thanks for replying, that’s helpful. Recently started looking into aquascaping again so all these little bits of info really help. Thanks again 👍
Mandria73 you are welcome!
Starting out in the beginning is usually full of questions. Just keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll get there! Scape on.
👊🏼
What kind of cabinet is that? Is it DIY? Thanks! Great looking scape.
Our own cabinets we have for sale here in our shop 😊👍 and thank you 😊🙏
How do you keep the water from turning brown?
Regular water changes, maintenance and healthy plant growth 👍 focus on this and you will have clean tank and clear water!
Great aquascape. I have a question. Where do you hide your heater?
It’s built into the external filter. It’s an Oase Filto Smart Thermo 100.
When aquascaping do you have to use drift wood or are there any other types of wood?
We have a wide selection of wood - check our website www.aquariumgardens.co.uk in this scape we used Redmoor Wood
A very nice scape and informative. Well, done.
Thank you Robert, hope all is well with you 🙂
hi, can you specify the watts of light used here
25 watts 1820 lumens. But the light is only running at 30%
@@AquariumGardensAquascaping I am using 10 Watts for my 30*30*30 tank. Is this OK?

Hey, I have a BARE BOTTOM PLANTED TANK WITH NO FISH in it. There are onlY anubias and bucephalandra attached to lava rock. I SEE brown organic waste (like dirt) at bottom of the tank. Even when I clean it during weekly maintenance, it will come back again by next water change. My question is I dont have fish or any other invertebrates in the tank and no feeding. How is that brown organic waste(like dirt) building up at bottom of my bare bottom tank??
Hi Niko, Plants produce waste too 🌱
@@AquariumGardensAquascaping how to deal with it??
How many gallon is that sir?
