I hope they do. I played through the campaign on all settings maxed out on pc with DLSS on quality. Didn’t really mind having frame rates drop to 70s in the campaign but now that I’m playing multiplayer, I want the frame rate as high as I can get it without having to look at ultra low res textures or having to turn DLSS to performance or ultra performance since I’m on a 3440*1440 monitor. I have a 3090 and with DLSS on quality I’m barely hitting 100fps even with some shadows and lighting settings turned down to medium or even low. I bought the 3090 used about 2 years ago and I’m struggling to get modern games to run above 100fps with DLSS at quality these days even if it’s not a super graphically intense game and I’m starting to get disappointed. I was thinking it might be the GPU performance is starting to degrade a bit with all the wear and tear but I doubt it. I just think games are just not optimized on pc anymore. But anyway, I’d like to see what the ps5 equivalent of the multiplayer settings on pc so I can try that or an optimized settings list. Hope DF puts out a multiplayer and a pc video too. Lol.
Benchmarking that would be much more difficult as there are so many unpredictable components, unlike campaign where there are fixed set pieces, scripted events, enemies appearing in the same places every time etc. It would be a lot harder to make a fair comparison.
One thing these analyses need is to be able to more directly cross reference frame rate with graphical resolution. It's one thing to say that one console has a higher or lower frame rate in certain situations, but what is the technical story behind that? It would be informative to be able to cross reference the average frame rate for each platform (during the test) as well as the average resolution. It would allow for a more informed understanding of the performance vs fidelity. For example, if one console had a higher average frame rate during the test but a lower average resolution, it is more informative of what actually might be going on. And it'd be even more informative if in those moments where one console performed higher or lower in frame rate to explicitly remark on the resolutions (or graphical settings if applicable) achieved during those moments. Overall, being able to cross reference this kind of information allows viewers to make more informed decisions.
This is irrelevant With upscaling, vrr, etc. Noticing any substantial difference is kinda hard. Unless you are playing on series potato where games go as low as 540p
Gonna hang tight until next weekend to play the campaign when I've got the PS5 Pro. I'm sure it'll hit that higher end of the DR scale even without a proper patch.

For anyone still using last gent (PS4 and/or XBone) you should be using an SSD and not a spinning drive. It should fix any data streaming, animation hiccups, most texture popping issues for the most part.
@@mitsuhh Doesnt matter, you go from about 100mb/s on the stock drive to about 300mb/s on an ssd. This seems to be enough to minimize most texture popping etc. Sure its not perfect, but it makes games like Battlefield 2042 playable.
You're right with companies like High Moon, but given that Raven is in charge of the Warzone games (which are the most successful CoDs at this point), I think they're actually doing fine compared to the other Activision studios.
Regarding PS4 Pro, using an SSD solves most of the problems mentioned in the video, my console has a 1TB standard SATA 3 SSD, and framerates appear to flow much better without the hitching and stuttering during saving; Just like with an old PC, if you happen to have an SSD lying about, installing it in any PS4 console can make it run so much better!
No discussion of how Texture Streaming is creating hitching is disappointing. You have to set Texture Streaming to minimal to minimize the frame hitching from asset loading on the fly.

I wish you'd test the multiplayer. It definitely uses much lower settings, and it's where 99% of people who bought it will be spending all of their time.
Lol.
They usually do, split them up for more content
@@jtPrime they've only covered the campaigns in recent years.
Benchmarking that would be much more difficult as there are so many unpredictable components, unlike campaign where there are fixed set pieces, scripted events, enemies appearing in the same places every time etc. It would be a lot harder to make a fair comparison.
@escape209 fair point.
Great thorough work by Thomas 👍🏼
This is irrelevant
With upscaling, vrr, etc. Noticing any substantial difference is kinda hard.

1:53 your graphic says 1920/1080 rather than 1920/2160.
I guess the graphic is right
@@mikael4126 I am not sure about that. Consoles often scale on the horizontal to half resolution when running dynamic resolutions which would be 1920x2160 on a 4k display. It gives a less noticeable degradation to quality than scaling on both axis.
@@mikael4126 Just checked the Eurogamer site, the graphic is incorrect, as I suspected. From the site...
"Both PS5 and Series X operate at a 3840x2160 resolution target that dynamically adjusts down to 1920x2160 - in effect, adjusting on the horizontal axis gives both PS5 and Series X enough GPU headroom to tackle Black Ops 6's most explosive missions at 60 frames per second or close to it."
Not only that, but they do say it in the actual video almost verbatim.

For anyone still using last gent (PS4 and/or XBone) you should be using an SSD and not a spinning drive. It should fix any data streaming, animation hiccups, most texture popping issues for the most part.
Yup after putting a ssd in my ps4 pro i have almost no problems with texture popping etc. This is most notable for me in Battlefield 2042.
PS4 original is limited to SATA 2

@@mitsuhh Doesnt matter, you go from about 100mb/s on the stock drive to about 300mb/s on an ssd. This seems to be enough to minimize most texture popping etc. Sure its not perfect, but it makes games like Battlefield 2042 playable.
Somebody please call INTERPOL to help release Raven from the CoD dungeon.
Interpol? You mean the band? Turn on the bright lights is a good album though 🤔
You're right with companies like High Moon, but given that Raven is in charge of the Warzone games (which are the most successful CoDs at this point), I think they're actually doing fine compared to the other Activision studios.

@@3KPK3 gamepass is anti consumer trash and you should be ashamed at yourself for being so gullible and short sighted to fall for it
Regarding PS4 Pro, using an SSD solves most of the problems mentioned in the video, my console has a 1TB standard SATA 3 SSD, and framerates appear to flow much better without the hitching and stuttering during saving; Just like with an old PC, if you happen to have an SSD lying about, installing it in any PS4 console can make it run so much better!
No discussion of how Texture Streaming is creating hitching is disappointing. You have to set Texture Streaming to minimal to minimize the frame hitching from asset loading on the fly.
64gb 5600Mhz Corsair Vengeance
No hitching here
You guys seen how poor the performance mode is on Mondter hunter Wild beta? Would be cool to see a cover on a clip!
Yeah it's an absolute joke! Monster Hunter world runs at near 4k 60 fps on Series X and it takes place in a lush jungle full of detail! It's crazy the system can stream Game Pass fairly well but it's still not optimal for gaming
What amazes me is that the basic gameplay and animations seem unchanged from Modern Warefare on the Xbox 360.
These are not games for people who love games, I'm convinced of it.
Ehhh, it's similar to Modern Warfare 2019, but animations lack the weight and power that they seemed to have in that game. MW2019 is the best Call of Duty from a technical standpoint.

Thanks for another great analysis video !!
ALL the issues you mentioned are what you get from insisting on releasing the game every single year !!
If they were to change to (at least) a bi-annual release schedule, they would be able to polish and optimise each platform to a more acceptable state with every release.....Which is what I think they should do, because the game would be a LOT better all-round !!
2:02 If it adjusts on the horizontal axes only down from 4k, then why does it say 1920x1080 on the video? That would mean it adjusts both horizontally and vertically.😕
